They claimed that the transmission I got from them a few years ago was rebuilt. Was popping out of 1st gear after just a 1 mile drive. I thought it may have been a problem with the jeep I put it in, and had the original transmission overhauled. I only put 1 mile on the transmission. I just got around to opening up the transmission I got from Hess's to find out its not rebuilt. They just replaced the 1st gear synchro. No bearings, NO NOTHING except 1 synchro ring. After inspection figures out the shift fork for 1st is worn WELL beyond limits and is not engaging 1st gear all the way.I have it at a transmission shop for rebuild right now for another project. I'm interested to see what else is wrong.Don't get anything done by them you can't see, they might say it's done and you are none the wiser. I do not like shady mechanics, this place is one example.Attached are pictures of the transmission. Note the bearings look like they are the originals. 3rd/4th gear synchro brass looks original. Hard to see but the shift forks are severely worn.An overhaul kit is bearings, seals and synchro rings. This should all look new. Not to mention the mechanic didn't spot the real problem with the fork. Just awful.

Hess's has friendly people who do good work for an affordable price. I picked up my truck today, and made another appointment for another vehicle before I even left.

Great, honest shop for repairs. I've been taking my cars here for a few years and am always satisfied with the service. Anytime work is needed to pass an inspection they will take the time to explain what's wrong and why it needs fixed as well as some options as to how they can fix it. Prices are fair if not a bit better than other shops. Dwayne and his guys do an exceptional job at customer service and are always polite and knowledgeable.

Mechanics you can trust. I been taking my car here for a couple years and I won't go anywhere else. The rates are very reasonable. No surprises the price they quote is the price you pay when you pick up the vehicle. Owners are great and they explain everything in laymen terms without you feeling like a dope lol.

I've been very impressed by Hess's repair. I've taken my car here a few times now after it was recommended by a couple different people. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Fair prices too.

They did an inspection on my vehicle, gave it back to me with a broken lug stud and several loose lug nuts. Motor mount was bad but somehow passed inspection, motor mount was even missing a nut! Horribly inexperienced people.Service: Vehicle safety inspectionService: Vehicle safety inspection

Brought my camaro in to get looked at and was told a tapping I heard was due to my aftermarket intake manifold and to not worry.. 3 weeks later I bring it to bradys performance in willow street and it had several spun rod bearings, not sure how experienced mechanics couldn t figure that out and told me to keep running it. Wouldn t not use their services again.Service: Engine repair

I knew exactly what I wanted when I went. Upon arrival I was greeted by a young man asking me if he could help me. I told him what I wanted he showed me and asked what size. He went in back brought them out I tried them on liked them and he rang up my purchase and told me to have good day after I paid.

My go to garage for many years. Dwayne Hess is an all around great guy and his mechanics know what they are doing. Extremely fair prices as well! :-)

They are in the middle of nowhere and their prices are higher than in town. I called about putting two tires on rims and was quoted at $29.00 a wheel. His brother does it for $20.00. Where would you go?

I have every confidence that the mechanics at Hess's are experts. They are polite, fair, and take the time to get to know you. My vehicles won't be going anywhere else for service!

This company has been paid from my company via credit card and he continues to try to double bill. They are full of hate and rebuttal toward myself after being paid thousands of dollars from my company.They would rather continue to gossip on the internet then tell the truth ,They are highly over priced and full of malice.I would not recommend this man or company to anyone
