I had a great experience today at Advanced!My car was low on coolant. Arion helped me to pick out the right coolant and came outside in the blistering cold to assist me with finding and filling the coolant reservoir on my vehicle.

Thorndale location; placed an online order to be picked up in store. They are open until 9pm, I get there at 8:08, lights are on, sign is lit yet door is locked. Open till 9pm says the hours on the door. This is not the first time this has happened, but of course when I had to order from here due to part availability same day. Looks like AutoZone a few buildings down the street is still more reliable and convenient

So I went in today and bought an almost $300 car battery. That part went perfect, the gentleman had a little difficulty locating it at first, but ended up finding it. I requested them to install it for me, and the gentleman had his younger associate bring it out.Here's where it gets unfortunate.So the young man informs me that he is unable to touch anything above the battery, there was a plastic vent pipe above it, I didn't have ANY of my tools with me, so I asked him for a screwdriver so I can loosen the 3 plastic screws holding the pipe in place.....he looks in his tray and finds none. Then he just stares at me for about 15 seconds while I'm waiting for him. I realized this kid wasn't going to go back in and get a screwdriver so I grab my purchased battery, slam the hood down, put the battery in the car and slam that door too. Drove about 3 miles back home, installed the battery myself in less than 10 minutes and brought my core back.All in all I almost never have anything bad to write about Advance Auto, I prefer them to the other guys just around the corner, but today I seriously thought about changing where I shop, ESPECIALLY when purchasing something important and expensive.

Carol and karter are the best they search for a part I needed right before closing the computer said they had it but it wasn't were it was supposed to be well that problem was no problem for these two would shop there again and will do so because of these two advanced did a great job hiring these two

Grumpy workers not happy to be there, taking forever to ring up customers and didn't have a clue on what transmission fluid I would need for my car. Don't think I will be going back.

This review is of the online site and of this local store. I purchased a battery online to be picked up at the store. I entered my make and model and year of my car to select the correct battery. A message in the cart said to allow 30 minutes for installation, so I went when they first opened because I had to go to work. Upon my arrival, I provided my order number to the clerk. He pulled up my order and said, "Bring in the battery and I'll get you the new one." I replied that I needed them to install it. He said he would not because I ordered it online and he "wouldn't get credit." I told him what the message in the cart said, to which he replied, "I don't care what it said online. We won't install it." A female clerk saw my growing exasperation and offered to look at it. She came out and saw that there was a support bar over the battery with three bolts in it. "We cannot install this battery," she told me. I asked why not and she pointed to the bar. She said that the online purchase does not take into account the make and model of my car. I told her I entered all of that info and they still said to allow 30 minutes for installation. She said that it's just a generic message and that they could not install it. I told her my battery was dead in their parking lot, and asked her what I was supposed to do. She said I could buy the battery from them, she'd give me a jump, and I could find a local mechanic to install it. I told her I would just do it myself. With an adjustable wrench and about half an hour of grunting, I removed the old battery and installed the new one. My frustrations are directed at Advanced Auto's website for not having a message alerting me that online orders are not installed in the store because employees don't get "credit" for it, and also for rude clerks who don't care about the customer.

This establishment is trash. I arrived 10minutes before closing time for an emergency pick up and found the doors already locked. I stood outside knocking for 5minutes while the employee ignored me. Another patron arrived at 8:58pm, after having called ahead to let them know he was coming, and the employee still wouldn't come to the door.When the employee finally came to the door, he turned all of us away despite having closed the store early. We took our business to another auto shop and will be calling the company to file a proper complaint.

Engine light came on, stopped in to get a diagnostic test. They tell me that the services where they come to your car are halted by corporate due to covid. Ok no problem. Go to leave, the other employee walks out behind me to put windshield wipers on the other customers car. Went to autozone, no issues. You'd think having competition literally 5 houses away, they'd be on their p's and q's.

Went to parkesburg location for a part which they didnt have but checked computer and said thorndale had plenty in stock,wasted time and gas for nothing.save your money and time and go elsewhere

I stop here due to convenience. It is not as clean as other places. I have had hit or miss help here but my last visit I had good help. They appear to be able to get parts in overnight and can get many items not in stock to you very quickly.

Writing all over the building when you walk in "free battery check and instillation", bought a battery and told him to put it in and explains we are short staffed and Id have to put in my own battery. I said theres 2 people talking in the back what are they doing? Mumbles something and explains its a liability issue. Take your signs down if you say you will install my battery. Atleast he let me wash the battery acid off my hands.
