I stopped by needing advice and potential service on an older Mazda 3. Dennis was excellent in reviewing potential issues, diagnostic checks, and potential solutions. He was up front that he couldn't help service my car immediately, but did his best in the moment to give helpful suggestions. I was able to resolve the issue based on his guidance. He was extremely courteous, professional, and helpful. Their shop is well maintained.

My Daughter's Catalytic Converter was stolen off her 2012 Toyota Prius while visiting a friend in Center City Philly. After a totally horrible experience at the Toyota dealership, and also calling several other shops to explore our options, we took the car to King's Automotive in Swarthmore. Greg was able to get the parts that no one else was able to obtain. King's completed the repairs in less than 3 days. They fixed everything and the total bill was $1200 less than the initial estimate that we got from Center City Toyota. I checked with several local repair shops and no one else was able to even guess a completion date because of parts availability. A huge "Thank You" to King's Automotive for doggedly exploring all possibilities and completing the repairs in a timely and cost effective manner.Service: Engine repair

have a 2018 Dodge Charger. I was at to other mechanics to get recommendation on work being done at the time I was advised that there was nothing wrong with the brakes in my tires I call Kings Automotive and had them look over the car to give me another opinion I was advised by one of their visors that the brakes were very bad and they need to be replaced I gave the five stars because of the honesty professionalism and good quality service definitely will be going back to them for all my automotive needs. What a satisfying experience in car repair. I gave up on the dealer that sold me my Mini Cooper. Going to them for service was just awful. This year I decided to break free. I don't think it was more than 24 hours since I made my appointment for annual service, then I got my car back. Greg was very helpful and their facility was so well maintained and clean. I will definitely go back to them and recommend them to others who are looking for a superior car repair experience.Services: General repairs & maintenance, A/C installation & repair, Air conditioning, Oil change

I've been going to King's for years to keep my now 25-year-old car running. They've always treated me with great respect and have never tried to do any repair that wasn't absolutely needed. Such honesty and integrity is greatly appreciated -- oh, and they usually get the service done in record time, which is a huge bonus. Great, friendly, helpful bunch of people. They communicate clearly what the problem is and the solutions to fix it. They do not hide any pricing. They all seem to really care about their customers and their customers' vehicles. My family has been using them for over 5 years with no problems. We really trust them. So happy we found them.

February 2020The automatic door opener on my van stopped working. Took it up to Kings and they found that the door motor was broken. The part has been discontinued but they were able to take my old one apart and repair it. Now my door is working fine again. Thanks again.May 2019 UpdateKings did get my vehicle in and got me back on the road. They had to check a few different things to pinpoint the problem, and had to wait a while after each attempt to see if it worked, but they did find it and get it fixed. This was more the fault of my vehicle than the fault of Kings. They have fixed my vehicle a few times. They are usually very busy so expect that, and if they don't call you, call them, things have slipped their minds before, but they have never really done wrong by me.May 2019Had my vehicle worked on by Kings, the repairs didn't solve the problem. So I brought it back and they had it for a week and when I picked it up the problem still hadn't been solved. I was told that they would order the parts and they would be in the end of next week and my vehicle would be fixed in a timely manner. I hope that is true and that my vehicle just needs a difficult to diagnose repair. I can't help but be extremely frustrated and feel like I'm not receiving good service. I hope that Kings stays true to their word and fixes my vehicle so I can change this review. They seem like nice professional people and I hope this is an isolated incident that can be easily resolved.

I've always found King's Automotive to be efficient, fair, and reasonable with regard to prices for service and parts. They recently did an inspection, oil change, and various other small repairs on my Volvo wagon, all of which were done well and in a timely manner. Previous repairs have involved brakes and larger projects, and those too were done well. And they are upfront about the costs. The personable staff, including the owner, also communicate with you effectively to let you know the status of your repair. I would definitely recommend King's.

Took my vehicle to King's to get new brake pads, because the Toyota dealership was booked solid, and I needed to drive to Florida in a few days. For a small corner garage, the place looks nice, with real nice landscaping outside. The staff in general was nice with the exception of a short guy who seemed to be the manager how was rude and obnoxious. Everything was fine until I got the bill. $875 for a simple brake job and oil change. I almost had a heart attack. Usually independent garages are cheaper than Dealership, but this was hundreds of dollars over what I paid at the Toyota Dealership for my last brake job. I actually mentioned later to the Service person at the dealership how much I paid for the brake job, and he said " Oh you must have went to King's"I never will go there again. King's probably pray on Swarthmoreans who are well off money wise and simply don't know any better.

I was planning to sell my one vehicle on a Saturday. Thursday night came and my only other vehicle wouldn't start. I tried to get it working myself all night to no avail. I called King's Automotive first thing Friday morning and explained the situation. They told me to get it towed in and they'd take a look right away. By that afternoon they had been able to diagnose what was wrong and I got the call Saturday morning (while selling my other vehicle) that the car was done and ready for pick up. Very polite people there and extremely helpful. I will definitely be taking my car back there again.

I have been a customer of Kings for many years, but NEVER AGAIN. While my car was in for routine service, they recommended and performed additional items that involved work in and around the engine. Less than 48 hours after the work done by Kings (about 60 miles), the ENGINE SEIZED. I naively had it towed back to Kings where they suggested I pay an additional $900 for a new starter to try to figure out why my engine didn't work. I disagreed with this recommendation and had it towed to a dealer where the engine was confirmed seized. It was a total loss of my vehicle. Kings said it was coincidence, just my bad luck. Do not trust this business that does not stand by their work, especially the owner, Jay.

Not sure if this is normal or not but I made an appointment for today Saturday September 4th at 8am and I've been waiting here for the past 28 minutes with the store not being opened. This is my first time coming to kings but so far I'm having a bad experience.

Great customer service! John was very informative and friendly. Went in for tire leak but it was only a rim leak. Was referred by AAA. Definitely will go back for service.

Extremely rude and unwilling to fix my tire .Went down the street to Clark s and they fixed my tire in five minutes and were super nice and professional.
