I rarely write reviews, but the service, cost, and honesty of this business far exceeded my expectations. I had a snow blower that was dropped off for service. They did an excellent job for a very reasonable price and delivered it to my home when they said they would. My husband had our checkbook, so I paid cash and was given a receipt. 5 minutes later he came back to my house to return an extra $20 bill that was stuck together. I would have never noticed, but appreciate his honesty and professionalism. Would definitely recommend Stoicheff's Auto Parts!

Leave your politics at the door! No seriously. Like me, you are probably reading the reviews from this place, and you likely disagree with the politics of the proprietors. You may think that the politics signal some sort of bad service, and the low scored reviews reflect the service rendered rather than some political bias. While I am absolutely certain there are very few ways Nick (the gentleman who serviced my lawn mower) and I overlap politically, I can confidently say that avoiding Stoicheff's due to my own political beliefs would have robbed me of excellent service. We live in such a tremendously divided society, don't let that rob you from a hard working, honest, and price-conscious shop. Ignore the politically-charged reviews and give this shop a chance for your small engine repair needs.

These guys have saved my skin so many times by having obscure parts in stock! They have small engine parts, every belt size imaginable, and do a great job with trailer inspections. Nick is great to deal with! I've been going there for years and I've never had a bad experience no matter what I'm there for. They just had something so rare in stock (that I needed) that it finally got me to write a review, which I seldom do.

Our go-to State College Auto mechanic! Honest, reliable and reasonably priced. They've been taking care of our vehicles for many years.

Anti-American signage at entrance and dead, dessicated mouse carcass inside, lying on a floor that probably hasn't been washed in years. Cancelled my u-haul reservation and walked out the door. Will be patronizing other u-haul vendors in town who do not support cry-baby loser failed former presidents.

Nick is the man, they do a great job with repair work. I take my small engines and trailer for them to fix and I can t say enough about the work and communication. They have a little of everything that I need and would recommend them for sure. Go Bears!!

My family has been patronizing this business for over 30 years; I got a Haines manual for my first car there, when I was 16, 20+ years ago. Stoicheff s has some of the best prices in town and is a local, family and veteran owned and operated business. I can t really ask for much more than that, in this day and age. Keep up the great work guys!

I asked for a receipt or work order from them for trailer brake module installation that was schedule the following day. I was asked to leave my keys and vehicle in the poorly maintained parking lot. No paper work, the associate didn t take any information from me i.e. drivers license or name, essentially no information that distinguishes me from any Joe Schmoe on earth. His response to my asking why was do you really think I m going to steal your car? As if I was a complete fool for requesting documentation I did not think that at all, I also did not feel that asking for a work order or receipt was outrageous. They then told me that they did not want to business with me and ask me to leave, because they have no clue what a work order is, and they don t do that shit I went in retrieved my keys, as I was leaving and explaining to my wife what had happened the associate who was rude to me was walking by and said if you have something else to say, you can say it to my face I agreed to say exactly what I was telling my wife to his face. After this he realized and agreed that what I was looking for was indeed not outrageous. Then still refused to do business with me because I mentioned the price of my explorer, and how ludicrous it would be leave my keys anywhere with no documentation the price of the vehicle was only brought up because it would be very easy for someone to walk in and say that it was their explorer and pay the price of a brake control module installation for a new explorer because there would be no evidence to prove or disprove that it was said individuals vehicle due to the lack of documentation

Joints on my car needed to be replaced so I got estimates from all the mechanics on Atherton. This place ended up being the cheapest by a mile. Got the joints and an oil change for less than other places were going to charge for just the joint replacement. They finished it very quickly too.EDIT:When I leave State College I will miss these guys. Tire Town wanted to charge my fiancee 1200 dollars to get her car up to inspection. We ended up paying around 4 or 500 here. They are always really quick and are the cheapest mechanic in town. I always come here when something needs to be done. I'm pretty sure the place is family owned so it is always nice to support the American dream!Edit:I moved in May to a different state and recently got my car inspected and they said everything looked great. Goes to show stoicheff will take care of you and don't charge you/overcharge for things you don't need.

I lived in State College nearly ten years, and the first year or so I bounced around big box auto places for service and work until a friend told me about Stoicheff. "Greg will take care of you," he said, and he couldn't have been more right. For most of a decade, through three cars, Stoicheff's service has always been exemplary. They're fast and thorough, never do work that doesn't need doing. They fixed every problem I had the first time, and often for well under my expected price. They were courteous and friendly, explained the problem and how they fixed it and what caused it to begin with. Every time. When we moved from the area, I rented my U-Haul from them, and a guy came out to meet us to pick it up, even though it wasn't during normal hours. I cannot stress enough how excellent Stoicheff's has been for me.

I've been going to Stoicheff's for everything from car repairs to lawn equipment to truck rentals for over 15 years. Always very prompt service, and they always do the job right the first time. I once had a problem with a U-Haul rental from Georgia to State College. I called up Stoicheff's and they went out of their way to help me get the issue fixed. I now live about 2 hours away from Stoicheff's and still insist on purchasing car parts and lawn equipment from them. I even bring my car to State College to get inspected. I'd highly recommend Stoicheff's for everything from your car to small engine repair needs. They're a great local outfit!

stopped by here to pick up a friend. very small parking lot with no signs, unclear about where to park. pulled up along an area that was blocked by cones to wait. a very angry little man came out and had an absolute tantrum like a toddler. He was already yelling when I rolled my window down. I was more than happy to move my vehicle and asked where he would like me to park, which sparked a second arm waving tantrum and more yelling, where he gestured to some broken, misaligned, and tightly packed concrete barriers (with no lines painted between them) and began ranting about how those have been the parking spaces for 50 years. no mask, middle of pandemic. once I move I'll be sure to take my business somewhere else.

I rented a u-haul from this place. I wish I didn't because it was the WORST experience EVER! The guy was very rude and treated us very badly. He acted like we were bothering him with our questions. Nobody in the store were wearing a mask. Find somewhere else to rent your u-haul!

Nick was awesome to deal with in getting my mower fixed. He kept me updated throughout the process, told me how much the parts would be and how long it would take. Saved me from having to buy a new mower. Even taught me some things about it as well!

I love these guys. I can't really say enough good things about them. They do all of my large engine and small engine repairs, as well as, anything U-Haul that I need. They are a great group of guys that work there and the entire Stoicheff family are all wonderful people. Last New Year's Eve, I was stranded in Target parking lot with a dead battery, and I called the shop. Mr. Stoicheff came down and jumped me and sent me on my way home with a Happy New Year. I wanted to repay them with brownies, so I made brownies and took it over to the shop, and they were CLOSED on New Year's Day. Mr. Stoicheff just happened to be in the shop, answered my call, and rescued me without even being open! Again, I love these guys!!!! You truly can't go wrong. If there is something they can't do, they will tell you and refer you to somewhere else (like glass repair).

I recently rented a uhaul from this place. WORST experience ever!!! The so called manager was extremely rude and condescending. They charged me twice and had the audacity to blame me and tell me that I was dumb. He also told me that I was irrational. I told him that I was surprised that he conducted business the way he does because it is a consumer business. He told me that it is a "need" business. State College needs his services and he can talk to and treat people however he wants. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. If you need to rent a truck or trailer...please go to another location. State College doesnt NEED to be treated like this.

Always very nice. Place is a bit messy and they don't serve coffee and donuts while you wait but they are smart, fair and very good about punctuality. They do all my car repairs and maintenance.

In the end, I'm a satisfied customer. The automated U-Haul bill is somewhat confusing. If you have questions, probably better to go in and talk with them than use the generic U-Haul reply email you received when the bill was emailed to you.

These guys do it all. Propane fills, keys cut, small engine repair, vehicle repair, Uhaul rentals and parts. Truly an awesome store and anyone who gives them less than 5 stars must really just hate that these guys root for the Chicago Bears.

They did an outstanding job of installing a Torklift Ecohitch on my Outback even though they had never installed one before. Great customer service.

No masks on employees and no plastic between customers and workers. Sad, they do good work but I walked out and will purchase from a competitor.
