My recent experience at Monro Auto Service and Tire Center was nothing short of exceptional! I needed a tire repair, and the team at Monro went above and beyond to assist me. From the moment I walked in, their friendly and professional demeanor put me at ease. Not only were they quick to address my tire issue, but they also took the time to explain the repair process in detail, ensuring I felt confident in their work. Their efficiency and expertise were truly impressive. I highly recommend Monro Auto Service and Tire Center for anyone seeking reliable automotive services. Thank you to the wonderful staff for their outstanding service!

Don't bring your car here. They can tell if you're not a car expert and will try to upsell you on everything. I took my car in because it was making noise from the right rear wheel for a couple of days. They pointed out some minor scratches, and told me I needed to replace the entire rear brake system rotors, pads, and all.I got a second opinion from a friend who knows cars inside out. Turns out, replacing the rotors was completely unnecessary for a bit of noise. Polishing them would have been enough if it really came down to it. And the price? They initially handed me an $800 bill. When I said I'd check prices online, suddenly there's a "special deal" available and said they can give me 100$ discount. Just save yourself the trouble and avoid this place.

I recently visited Monro Auto Service and Tire Center for a tire repair, and I couldn't be more impressed with their service! The guys there were not only fast but also incredibly nice. They took care of my tire issue efficiently, and I was back on the road in no time. I highly recommend Monro Auto Service and Tire Center for anyone in need of auto repairs or tire services. Thank you to the awesome team for their exceptional service!

They do not care about time at all. First said they ll give my car the same day but gave it to me 2 days later. And while inspecting my car, I realized they didn t put the break very well, and had to keep my car there another night. Moreover, they quoted me for $1267 and gave me a bill for $1344. The person who was there had no idea for what I was talking about and he reduced it to $1298. I had to go back in again to get the refund as he said he doesn t have authorization to give me a refund. I did end up getting the difference back, but just not good service. I wouldn t have cared paying a little extra, but would ve liked a heads up from their end.I went to get multi-point inspection done at other place today as after this incident, didn t trust their service as much and this new place told me that I have some fluid leakage, the same fluids that I had Monro replace for me. This new place said they changed the fluid but it s just bad business as Monro should ve known the fluid is not going to hold because of the leak.

William Anderson is awesome. He got me in super quickly on a day where they were slammed with customers, allowing me to leave on time for a road trip! You never know sometimes how things will be when you try a new mechanic, but William and his team took great care of my car and charged me a reasonable price. I ll definitely be back. Thank you!

My girlfriend and I go to Monro Auto Service for all our car needs, including oil changes. Will, (the manager) and the team are knowledgeable about cars and are friendly people. They have very reasonable prices, (we compared their prices to other places in the area) and explain everything in detail regarding your vehicle and its needs. My girlfriend got an oil change yesterday, and the manager was out for an extended period of time, so they ended up giving her the oil change for free! This showed first-hand that they put the customer first. Would highly, highly recommend going to Monro on North Atherton!!

DANGEROUS!FOR THE SAFETY OF YOU AND YOUR FAMILY, DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!Took my Kia Carnival here for a run-of-the-mill flat tire replacement. The wheel I had installed here in the morning ***fell off the car while I was traveling at highway speeds*** in the afternoon. My passengers and I easily could have been seriously injured or killed, it was just lucky timing of where it fell off that we were not. Every stud on the wheel they secured sheared off (see photos). The lugs were obviously either over or under torqued at Monro. If that all wasn't enough... Monro put the temporary spare tire I had driven in on back under my car after they installed the new one. On the Kia Carnival, the spare holder is under the car in front of the rear tire. So if the spare falls off, you're running it over with your rear tire. Do you think the spare was put back properly? NOPE! When I checked it later, it was *barely* secured. It almost certainly would have fallen off the next time the van went over a minor bump. Not that the money part matters after all of that, but it cost me thousands of dollars in repairs (elsewhere, of course) to get back to where I was confident everything Monro screwed up had been fixed. But Monro has nickel and dimed the reimbursement at every step. It's just messed up they won't just reimburse a few thousand bucks after I *could have died* from their shoddy workmanship.Do not go here.

I had a fantastic experience at Monro Auto Service and Tire Centers. I went in for a quick tire pressure check and left with much more than that. Not only did they check my tire pressure for free, but they also took the time to educate me on how to use free tire pressure services at various locations. This level of customer service truly sets them apart. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, making me feel like a valued customer.I can confidently recommend them to anyone in need of auto services. Their commitment to customer satisfaction and willingness to go the extra mile is truly commendable. Thank you, Monro, for a great experience!

Went in last minute on a Saturday morning after having multiple instances of my tpms light coming on. I had gone to another mechanic in State College twice who didn't take the time to thoroughly inspect the problem (hence, why I went twice and it still wasn't fixed). I was planning to leave town that morning so I was beyond frustrated. William told me they would give it a look over and fitted me in even though he was extremely understaffed and only had one technician. He said right away when I walked in the door what he thought it was and explained common tire problems in such detail. It has been two weeks, and I haven't had the issue since going to Monro. Great customer service and great conversationalist! I really really appreciate it!

NOT recommend this place. I am a four years consumer at this store(from 2019 to 2023, two cars severed at here), and I would never come back to this place again from now on. No more trust to the store. I have no idea why they have such a high rating on GOOGLE reviews. Check reviews on Yelp. My reasons: Timing, high pricing, unprofessional, offended(this could be personal feeling). Take unreasonable time (as promised) on the service, even a simple service. (not always, if you can wait days on a simple thing, you can go) Expensive. I don t know where they get the parts, but the parts they provided are expensive (at least for my cars). And watch for possible unreasonable charges to you, don't pay something twice! Unprofessional. Replace wrong size brake rotors, after one year, find it out after a new state inspection at here. Brake bad are damaged, had to replace everything again. Feel being offended. I want to ask some technical details and information, but they just want me to leave and do not let me talk. (this may be subjective, I understand they could be busy at the time, but still, I am the customer, I am not here to forgive you)Reviewing on the past four years service experience here. I am disappointed and this will be my last time to come here. I have to learn related knowledge on my own to avoid being fooled (spend more money on unnecessary things). If you were a new customer and do not know about cars. RUN. There are plenty good auto stores at(or near) state college.Try Tire Town for tires, Midas or Tussey mountain motors(near state college) for repairs. All of them can do state inspection. Better than here.I would not reply to any of response from the owner, you disappointed me, and I would not waste any more seconds to argue with you.

I arrived for my 3:30 inspection and oil appt on time. I was asked for my insurance and registration card so I advised that I had the electronic versions and was told they are not accepted. I was told I needed hard copies. I politely advised the service representative that PA law does not require you to carry hard copy of insurance but I'd be willing to email them both to him real quick for him to print them out. Apparently they no longer allow you to email documents to them because they could be hacked. I challenged this notion with several rebuttals, but the representative was not willing to assist me. Rather, he told me I should have known to bring hard copies, but I could go down to Staples and print them out. No thank you and I will not be coming back! For future reference, please let the customer know on the phone they need a physical hard copy of their registration and insurance with them at the time of their appointment.

Had a good experience at Monro on N. Atherton.Attendant knew what he was talking about and gave several options for fixing my flat tire. Walked out with 4 new ones for a slight discount. They even made time to replace my tires the same day.Only thing I didn't care for was the cost of labor. Quality service is not cheap. Still, overall had a good experience, I'd recommend them again.

Monro helped me out in a HUGE way in a jam. I was a 5 hour drive from home, and stopped at this location because I had a leaking tire. Despite the fact that most places were closed (In the middle of a snow storm), they were able to plug the tire on my Tesla Model Y. Not many places even want to touch Tesla cars. The folks at this location did it with a smile and incredible professionalism. They made me feel like we were all buddies, and they just took care of me like we were.

Best service experience I've had in a long time. Went in to see if I could schedule a time look at my muffler (rattling noise). They asked me to have a seat and they would be right on it. Thirty minutes later, no more rattle, a simple fix for them. No charge. Just a thank you for stopping in. They've earned all of my service business. Thanks Monro Team. Jobs well done.

This was my second time at Monro Auto Service and Tire Centers and had amazing experience both times! Worker who checked me in this second time, (young, tall male) was incredible. Extremely polite and professional! Mechanics seem more knowledgeable than I d even trust a dealership to be. My truck is running better than when I first bought it(2020). Without any hesitation, I highly recommend Monro Auto Service And Tire Centers to anyone & everyone! Thank you guys so much!(Oil change, tire rotation, alignment)

Got a same day alignment. Service was fast and polite. It was $160, and took about 10 mins. Which did seem very expensive, but I didn t shop around so maybe that s average? I don t know. But they were very nice.

This place is a complete joke. They have absolutely no respect for their customers time whatsoever. We had a confirmed appointment to get work done and they cancelled it THREE times only AFTER we had already rearranged our schedules and actually brought the car in at the agreed upon time. I understand if they need to reschedule/cancel, but it makes your business look really bad to not let your customers know beforehand. There are so many other places around that can do what these guys offer, and I would recommend that you consider one of those other businesses.

Kept my car for over a week and took forever to do the estimate. Told me I had over $5300 in damage ended up taking it somewhere else because they wasted my time. I really only had $1300 in damage. So basically they tried to take advantage of me. If you need repairs don t go here unless you want scammed.

Total scam artists. Came in for an inspection and got robbed for maintenance items that were not necessary. Extremely overpriced, slow repair (kept my car for 4 days), problems persist.Read other reviews and DO NOT go here. If you do, Cut your Losses in time and money and Run to never to return. No, I am not calling corporate again. No thank you! They do not address concerns and just ping pong between the shop and their office. Calls not returned.

Debated whether to sink $4G+ into a 2005 Sorrento. Even if it only has 117K miles. Been going to Monro for years. This was not an easy process. I was without my vehicle for long stretches of time. In poor health/had family emergency in MD I had to rent a car for. I appreciate the regional manager Chris stepping forward to help make a tedious situation palatable. I trust the site manager Will. Consider him a friend. I hope my mechanical issues are mercifully behind me.

Our car had an issue that required us to tow it home, which was 4 and a half hours away, but we weren t informed of that issue until we had already agreed to get $1,000 worth of work put into the car. So we get the call, the car is repaired.. but turns out the head gasket is blown. 2 days of waiting in a hotel with our family only to end up doing with our car what we could have done the first day if it had been diagnosed properly.

Will and Jack were great and provided service quickly and efficiently. I had a flat tire from a nail in my tire and I came in without a scheduled appointment. Will was eager to help and he was able to fit me in before closing. Jack patched my tire and replaced it within 30 minutes. High quality service and great customer service!

Taken my car there twice within roughly the past year, great experience both times. They ve replaced multiple parts of my car and cut me a deal anytime the problem seemed to be bigger than expected. Everyone I ve spoken to there has been incredibly friendly, all around great place!

William was extremely helpful and inspired confidence that I would be taken care of. This was especially valuable to me because I had a large bolt in my tire at a time when many other shops would be closed. I also appreciated his honesty.

I had an 11 am appointment on Sunday for my car to be inspected. I dropped the car off at 10:30. When I arrived back with my sister who had a 12pm appointment for the same thing, my car was in the same spot. I told the manager I would be right back and I was back within 30 minutes. After coming back, my car was still in the same spot. While there, I watched the technicians complete 3 vehicles. After 2pm, I asked the other customers who were there, how long have they been waiting. They both said about 2 hours but their cars were coming out of the dock now. I asked them did they have an appointment and both of the customers said no. When the manager Zachary came out, I asked him how much longer would it take until my car can be seen. He said well we re backed up right now. I mentioned the other customer s cars being done without an appointment but my car hasn t been looked at. He said it s because only one technician can legally do inspections. I said so can the one person who can do inspections focus on the customers with appointments for inspections instead of the walk in customers. ( I watched him work on other vehicles). He said well if you don t want to wait, you can take your keys back. After waiting over 3 hours for a car that still has NOT BEEN SEEN, I can take my keys if I don t want to wait? I watched a young lady get her car towed into the shop and she asked would they be able to see it today and her car was immediately taken in and fixed, while my car sat in the same spot I parked it. My car s inspection was not done until 3. I spent my whole morning waiting for a 30 minute inspection to be done although I had an appointment. I will never visit this shop again. I understand running behind schedule, but the attitude and disrespect was very unnecessary and there is no logical explanation as to why my car sat there for hours while walk ins were seen and taken care of. To top it off, the manager mentioned my breaks were at a 4 and would need to be changed soon. I said okay. He said at 3 we can fail you, we let it go for today and passed you because we understand you ve been waiting for a while. Excuse me? How can you possibly think you re doing me a favor and making up for a 4 hour wait by passing me when I m above the passing limit? If a 3 fails and I m above that, where is the favor? Please stop trying to insult my intelligence. This is the worst experience/service I ve ever had at an auto shop.

Got my just front tires changes (charged for over 400 bucks and took 4 hours) and shortly after, tire air pressure (TPMS) light went on. Took back my car to them, and they told me that the front sensor is not working, and wanted to charge another 160 bucks for replacement. Then they told me that it s just a bad luck.Bad luck was choosing Monro for any service. Not recommended at all. Must avoid.

Update: I got a call to take care of this issue below. They did offer to pay for a towing truck reimbursement) so I'll bump it to a 4 star. Communication here needs to be fixed.I brought the Ford f150 Green truck that needed an alternator. I don't want to leave a bad review, so I'll leave it at 1 star. I will never come back here again, and I'm being respectful leaving it at that.

I am disappointed with the treatment we had at this place. My husband, who works with the car, went in yesterday to request their services in regard to a red light on the dashboard. We scheduled a time today, and programmed for me to work at home and for him to miss work. They were supposed do send a message when service was over, and told him it would probably take till mid afternoon. We were waiting for the message until 6 pm (they close at 7) when my husband decided to take a Lyft back to the shop to see what was going on, only to find they didn t touch the car, because there were only two workers. There s no problem in having to reschedule, but to ghost us the whole day? My husband could have gone to work had them courteously let us know it wouldn t be possible today. It just shows a lack of respect for peoples time.

DO NOT GO HERE! Took my car in for an oil change as I always have had good experiences here and their hours are convenient. First red flag...they couldn't put regular synthetic oil in due to "corporate".Ok...well, I was there and needed the oil change, so fine. Paid close to $100 for a standard oil change. Within a week I started smelling something burning but only when my heater was on. Pulled over and discovered smoke coming out by the headlight. They said bring it in, we'll take a look. Mind you, my car has less than 55,000 miles on it. They talked to me about their suspicion that it was the head gasket and blamed the car maker. They would need their "master mechanic" to look at it and do a leak test the next day. Will called me to tell me that the thermostat case was cracked and that was the cause of the smoking. They recommended replacing that and flushing the coolant (which makes sense) but they also discovered my brake pads were pulling away from my rotors and that wouldn't pass inspection. Close to $1200. I agreed to the service and the charge. Not sure why they were looking at my brakes to fix the thermostat case but I've always had a shake braking on steep hills and thought that sounded legit. So I paid up and drove my car home at the end of that day.The next morning there was a pool of coolant underneath my car. I moved the car to see what was happening and yup, still leaking. So. I called them. Clearly something went amiss. They said bring it in, we'll get it up on the lift right away. It'll take half an hour.Nope....45 minutes later my car's been in the bay, hood up with some guy spraying WD40 all over the engine. I inquire as to when they think they'll be done. Miraculously a few minutes later the mechanic comes out and says my coolant pressure is too high for the coolant cap so I need a new coolant cap. But their parts guy is on the way with it and should be there in 2 minutes. I ask....how does this happen? How is it that this was not an issue before you flushed my coolant but it is now? He agrees to not charge me for the new coolant cap.30 minutes later no coolant cap. They call the parts guy who says he's on another parts run and won't be there for quite some time. This is when I start to get mad. I tell them I have a work obligation and cannot wait (again) so they say it should be there tomorrow. That I can just run my car in and they don't even need a bay and can just switch out the caps in the parking lot. They topped off my coolant and sent me on my way.Next day...pull in. Go in. Will, the manager, was there. He didn't know if my coolant cap was there. He told me to have a seat and wait. I told him I was told they could have someone just switch out the caps. He VERY rudely explained to me that they can't just do that they have to let my engine cool down. I replied that I was aware of that but my car was not even warmed up so it should be fine. Then he presented me with a bill. $42 for a coolant cap that I can buy at Auto Zone for $15. Gaslit me about that, saying it was just the labor cost that would be free. Seriously??? I told him then that they won't be seeing me in their shop again, ever, and agreed to pay just to get the hell out of there. They send someone out to switch out my cap in the parking lot. She did not know which cap in my engine was the coolant. I suggested she ask someone. She did. I asked her what the difference was between the caps and she didnt know so she went in to ask again. Will comes out with her and again quite rudely explained that it's the same cap but the spring in the old cap was not working which is why they had to replace it. Then he offers a refund for the cap. I say as I agreed to pay, I will, and to just take care of it so I can go.That was 11/9. 11/15 I smelled something burning, 11/16 (today) smoke coming out by the other headlight. Unreal.I repeat, do not go here.
