I've been going to Dick's since at least 2008 and he's always been a straight shooter, with reasonable pricing. I sometimes have to go back to the dealership for dealer-only fixes, but otherwise I'm very happy with all my transactions. I can get in with not much of a wait and the repairs usually have a fast turn around time.Yes, the shop is smokey, but my vehicles have never smelled of it when I've picked them up.

Took car to get inspected. I was told that it needed new front brakes and rotors to pass, so I paid the ~$20 for the failed inspection took it home to do that. The front brakes were getting pretty thin, but the metal of the brake shoes was not scraping the rotors, so it technically *should not have failed the inspection*.However, the rotors were not warped or grooved at all. When I took it back to them and said the rotors were fine and so I didn't replace them, the guy acted all upset that I didn't do what they said needed to be done (even though what they told me had to be done in the first place wasn't actually required per the PA inspection code). They claimed that the reason the rotors needed to be replaced was because they were rusty around the outside and would wear out the brakes faster. So ... the part of the rotor on which rust develops because the brake pads don't contact there will cause the pad to wear out faster ... ???Basically, I wouldn't expect them to outright lie about repairs that your car needs, but it seemed to me that they are more than willing to say you need a repair done that is borderline necessary at best. I had half a mind to report them for indicating unnecessary repairs as necessary to pass inspection, which could result in a 4+ month suspension of their inspection license, but in the end I decided that would be too much trouble
