We have been taking our vehicles to Mr Tao's for years and he and his shop have always been fair, quick, and accountable. Something I appreciate is that they are honest if they can't be certain what repair is needed. I trust them with our vehicles and recommend the shop fully.

Tso s Automotive Rip off. Needed two spark plugs installed. I gave him the new plugs. So Labor only , $260 to put two plugs in! 15 minutes of work and paying $260! Don t go there. Scam in my mind. Ridiculous! This guy is a scam artist my opinion. He does this to all. The mechanic was nice guy. He said 15 min job. So $260 for 15 minutes of work! F U Tso. Take my advice. My opinion.

Great little spot. Recently moved here and came across this place. Mr Tao was very friendly and accommodating and I was able to do a walk in inspection + oil change on the spot and it was very fast. Will def make this place my go to place for any car needs.

Update Dec 13, '23: more work done. Unrelated to last time. I've since had a tune-up there and sway bar link installed. Both services were done (separately) in <1 day (each) with no problems. I recommend Tao and take my services very very seriously. I depend on my car for work as a Pro Uber driver.F.A.S.T. Talk to Tao and he'll get you in ASAP. No hassle quotes. Did I mention fast? I will use them again next time I need service.P.S. They are fast.

Had a very bad experience. He made me sit 3.5 Hrs (1 PM to 4:30 PM) for my car re-inspection and at 4:30 PM he is saying he don't see my records and simply asks me to go home and come next day. Only reason I see is I changed the tires (failure outcome from his first-time inspection) from Walmart as it was in warranty and didn't change at his place. Probably he is not making money from me as he expected. I do notice that he was simply taking other cars (who are given higher estimates and if customer agrees) for inspection/repair who came after me. He kept ignoring my ask to inspect my car even I came at 1 PM. At 4 PM he is asking me to bring data (of changes) to prove what he mentioned me last time, instead of keeping the record in his system (I did inform the detail what I fixed when I entered at 1 PM). He keeps making the rude comments without any respect. I would definitely make all my friend circle aware of his behavior, so they don't waste their precious time if they are planning to go there. Very unprofessional experience from him.1/2/2024 - Replying for Tao's comment -First of all my car was inspected on Nov-20th (not 3 months ago, so do not lie). I have given you the receipt and if needed I can attach the copy here in goggle review as well which has 20th Nov date. Another lie, when I requested to inspect my car in full again (instead of re-inspection), you denied saying I have many customer (that too at 4:30). So stop lying on customer front. Second thing, you never given any paper for failure, and moreover, being an inspection authority, you should document all the record for the car if you are failing any inspection for any customer. As I mentioned tire was not replaced from your shop and you didn't like that and made me wait for 3.5 Hrs.Note: I got the inspection done from Firestone very next day and passed successfully. The cost was $33.50 for the inspection with excellent Customer service and respect.

I wouldn t recommend going here for an inspection..I was told I needed 4 repairs that weren t necessary for an inspection; at the end, the owner told me that he didn t even have inspection stickers and that I would need to go somewhere else to get the sticker. Lol, they definitely try to take advantage of you

They literally charged 10 bucks to peel a sticker from the car. Go somewhere else for your car needs. It would have been a decent price, but I m sure there are more places that are better to customers.

Tao's got me in for an inspection the same day I called. It was quick, convenient, and hassle free. Tao's has a great price for inspections and good customer service. I will definitely be using Tao's again!

I urgently needed an inspection. Not only did Mr. Tao squeeze me in at the last minute, the inspection was the best price I could find!!! The entire staff here are extremely friendly. Not only is the work efficient and quick, they really take the time to explain everything as far as your vehicle s current state. Tao is honest and hardworking!! Eager to be a new customer, and I will definitely be returning here!Service: Auto emissions testing

They were super helpful. They said they didn t have time to fix my breaks, then when they realized how bad they were they stayed open late and fixed them for me. Super awesome. Only charged me 30 bucks

I called the day before to schedule a state inspection. I arrived 10 minutes before they opened. I moved here just one month ago from another state and didn't know I needed my registration card and wasn't told to bring it. After driving back home to get it, there was one person ahead of me. I sat for over an hour as other people came in to also get inspections. People after me started getting their results and I was still just waiting, so I finally asked about it. They hadn't even started my inspection and had skipped me entirely. Disappointing because it is close to where I live and I wanted to support local business. Frustrating experience and a big waste of my time. Now I scheduled for next week at a corporation.

My first time taking my car here, I needed to get an inspection on that specific day and called and he said if I could get there in a few minutes he d be able to fit me in! I got there and the inspection went quick and I needed some work done (an engine Mount replaced) which he also got done very quickly. I loved overhearing some folks in the waiting room chatting about how good the work this shop does is, and about how he will doesn t ever have you get unnecessary work done on your car. Will be returning in the future!

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. They fit me in the same day for my emissions safety inspection and check. I was out there in an hour at the lowest price I could find in Pittsburgh. Tao's Auto Service is the best in the area. They communicate, respond, and service your vehicle quickly. They specialize in foreign cars and Mr Tao is a huge BMW fan; I always enjoy taking my car down there and talking shop for a couple of minutes. His service technicians are great and they aren't afraid to take a couple of minutes to explain what is going on and how to fix an issue. Great Service! He did an inspection for only $35; mind you, it's an out of state vehicle! He's reliable, and anything I needed to have in order to pass the inspection was done! Prices for parts and labor were very affordable! Will return.

This guy is a fraud. Called about putting a starter on as I don t have a lift. It s a 15 minute job. Remove splash guard, remove heat shield and then 2 bolts on starter. He tried saying $215 just for labor. That s laughable. He s either not following standard shop rates or he s scamming. So laughable.

Tao s auto service was excellent and fast. Scheduled the inspection and oil change over phone. He got me in on same day and was done within hour and at very competitive price.Highly recommend this place!

Omg I was in Pittsburg and my alternator just went out. Mind you I m from NYC and I had to catch a flight at 12am tonight, it s a 6hr drive for me and right as I was leaving my alternator goes out. To make story short found Taos shop and they were bout to close. They immediately helped me and stood working overtime to help me! Best shop in Pittsburg! Customer service and work was amazing and very fast!
