My car wouldn t start right after picking up a food order, on the street right outside the shop. I was panicked, needing to be able to get home. The shop was closing, as it was a minute after 5pm. I went inside and asked if there was anyway he could take a look at my car, and he was very happy to do so, even in the midst of a snow storm. I didn t get a name, and wish I would ve, but I assume the owner was the one who helped me. He tried starting my car and looking under the hood, before going back to the shop to get tools to jump start the battery. This worked, and I was able to get home safely. He wouldn t take any money, but I am truly so grateful for the kindness and generosity he showed me today. I will take my car back in the future when any further work is needed. I just would like to say thank you to this man and this shop for helping me when I was in need. There are good people in the world, and these guys are some of them.

The best car service I ve ever had. I m a college student at Pitt and it s really difficult to find time. Pedro was so fast with the diagnosis and the lady at the front desk was so sweet! They only took 1.5 days to order parts and get my car fixed and back to me! They also constantly kept me updated over the phone and made sure I knew the status of my car the entire time they had it. 100% recommend going to them!

Honest mechanic who won t try to upsell you on stuff you don t need. Got an oil change, inspection, and new brakes. No appointment and it was still done within 5 hours. Definitely a local business worth your support!

Messed up the undercarriage/fender a bit and drove it to Lou's without calling or anything. He immediately said he was able to squeeze me in and it would be done the latest in the afternoon. It was done an hour later!!! And the owners (I think they were the owners) were super, super lovely as well.

These guys were amazing. I'm new to Pittsburgh and honestly had no clue who to go to.I was recommended here by a friend, thinking I had brake problems. Turns out brakes are practically perfect, and the issue was something else entirely.The problem was explained to me, and nothing was done until they asked me first. Very nice, very professional, and very reasonable.I will definitely be back here for any auto repairs I need!Services: Tires, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Brakes

Guys, I cannot tell you enough about what an amazing and honest mechanic George is. He has always given me the best price in the city and does GOOD, FAST work that he stands by. Has double-checked on issues and not charged me, kept an eye on things, and really kept my car going as long as he could. And was honest with me when my car was becoming a money pit and it was time to get a new one. Honestly, I might pass on the free service provided by my dealer just to keep going to George.

Extremely helpful and competent staff. Told me exactly what was wrong, went to great lengths to find the parts (I had to end up ordering them myself because I drive a Saab) and the service was quick and easy. Fair price, and he even opened his doors on a Saturday when he wasn t planning to be open so that I could pick my car up. Hopefully my car stays in good shape, but I know where to go if it doesn t.

I needed help with a small tire problem, and came to Lou's as they were recommended to me by two friends. They fixed it immediately and did not even charge! Very kind and genuine people.

Fair pricing and can get you in at 8am. You can sit inside or walk up the street to Dunkin. Very friendly and honest. They will assess the needs and tell you what needs done. They have been around for years. Overall, great local dealership that provides quality services with fair pricing.

I wish I could rate more stars, this shop saved our trip to Pittsburgh for our daughter's graduation. We got a leak in the brake hose as we got off the turnpike and several shops wouldn't help on short notice. Lou's was direct, honest and upfront; he was very fair with us. Dropped off our car the very next day at 8:00 am (website hours say open at 9 am!), and he had it repaired by noon - JUST IN TIME FOR THE GRADUATION - and a safe trip back to Philly. As my husband was picking up our car, a young girl came into the shop with a nail in her tire. She was heading back to NJ. This was at closing time, which he advised her. But he stayed open to fix her tire and get her on her way home. I can't remember the last time I saw a shop treat people with such fairness and compassion. This is a Gold Star shop, in my opinion, because of its people, service, and good work. THANK YOU, LOU'S!

Went for an inspection in early April and they said it was perfectly fine to drive. Earlier this week our car completely broke down and multiple mechanics have told us the engine was basically completely broken, there was no coolant left and we had to get a new car. No idea how they passed our inspection.

I took my car in to this shop to get my oil change, and they told me my brakes were completely shot. They tried scaring me into replacing them right then and there, making it sound like if I went on the highway I would die. Having just fully replaced them two months prior, I thought something seemed strange. I called my regular mechanic from home and he recommended another mechanic in the Pittsburgh area, who after inspecting my brakes determined there was absolutely nothing wrong with them. Do not go to this shop, unless you want to spend money on unnecessary repairs.

Came in with a 2010 Subaru that was vibrating at highway speeds. George was very informative, looked the whole car over, gave us an honest price and balanced our tires in an hour. Our car now drives like NEW - 10/10 satisfaction and service. Thank you George!

Worked with George and he fixed my A/C, replacing the condenser, and servicing it for 1/3 of the price as the dealership and much quicker. He was honest and easy to work with. Highly recommend.

This place is really amazing. I got a problem for the volt in my tire and needed to replace it. It was not urgent, but they got the work done within 20min as I finished lunch in nearby Subway. Also reasonable price for it.

A few months ago, my brakes and rotors needed to be replaced. Lou's insisted that the minimum cost of repairs would be $430 and that this was the lowest price I was going to find in the area. I was suprised because the national average for such repairs is about half as much.I called Pep Boys and Walter's. Both gave me estimates that were actually reasonable (and far below what Lou's wanted).I've heard that some mechanics will try to con young people--especially young women--out of their money. I certainly hope this was not the case at Lou's.

was in a jam with a dead car, i called 4 dealers for my jeep and they all could not see me for 5 days. i called lou's shop and he look at my car and fixed my problem in ten minutes.. They don't rip you off like all the other auto services esp the one across from them Volvo shop. They are honest and that's prob why they get really great business
