I have been patronizing Homer's service center for over 20 years. I tell friends that this is the most honest service center that I've ever experienced, with personable staff and quality repairs. Unlike some of the mega chain repair shops or dealerships, the folks at Homer's care for their customers and provide excellent service at a reasonable price. No one here is going to try to convince you to pay hundreds of dollars because an obscure widget on your vehicle should be replaced.

Great service and price. A friend recommended Homer's and I wish I came here sooner. I had to get new brakes and rotor installed. Even found out that I had to get a new caliper. The price was super reasonable and the car was repaired timely. Thank you so much!

I can't sing their praises enough. Years ago, while going to work, my driver's side window wouldn't roll back up. I went to Homer's because I had heard such good things about their character and their work. A wonderful man looked at it, was able to roll it back up, and sent me on my way without charging me a cent.Fast forward to today, I thought I needed brakes because my brake light kept coming on. I went to Homer's. They put my car up on the rack, checked out my brakes, and was told my brake fluid was low, my brakes were fine. They filled my fluids, put air in my tires, and again, did not charge me a cent.This has to be the most honest shop that I have ever encountered, especially in a time when everyone is more concerned about making another dollar, no matter how they do it.They are always busy, which speaks for the quality of their work. Everyone is so nice. Again, I can't sing their praises enough!

I can't say enough good about this place. Always knowledgeable and friendly, and don't try to talk you into things you don't need. (The opposite, sometimes!) I just live up the street, but if I ever move, I'll bring my car here regardless.

I went on the recommendation of a coworker who told me that they are the best. I have been getting water [and mold] in my car and they looked at it, cleaned out the AC system, and charged me nothing. Zilch. Nada. I look forward to being a regular customer!

I brought a car on for service. I said the car was knocking, and sometimes not starting, and that I thought it was the fuel pump.They returned the car to me and said it was a loose connection on the battery terminal.Six weeks later, my car completely refused to start and left me stranded with my daughter trying to leave dance class.After a tow to a proper garage, I learned that the fuel pump was putting out 15psi of pressure vs the expected 60psi.Do not waste your time or money with these guys. I suspect the car started when they tried it, so they dismissed my concerns outright and decided it wasn't worth it to do any diagnostics testing.It is scary to think that I placed any trust with these guys.

I usually come here and have a good experience, but the last two times I have been overcharged for nothing. I had a noise that I was told would be looked at for free. Upon picking up my car I was told there was a loose cap, and charged $38 for a $12 part. This time I get an oil change and am charged $12 for 1 gallon of gas ($62 untaxed for a simple oil change )? I picked up my car and the gas level is less than when I dropped it off. I didn t ask for any gas, nor was it needed considering i m over half a tank still. Its disappointing because this was a family referral, and my grandfather is a mechanic, so I can tell when cheap buffers are on a bill. I usually don t get anything done in pittsburgh unless it s by Homer s, but as a college student on a budget it looks like I ll be avoiding Pittsburgh mechanics altogether from now on. Amazing work, but unnecessarily expensive in a way that feels like you re being taken advantage of.Service: Oil change

I had car trouble on my way to work to State College. I was about to get on to the interstate when my car started shaking when I m in a complete stop or slowing down. I put in my GPS the nearest mechanic, and it directed me to Homer s Service Center. They are very helpful and efficient. They had my car up and running in no time. We just recently moved to Pittsburgh and I tell you what, I found my mechanic guys for sure.Service: Transmission

I went to Homers for an annual inspection w/ emissions test and was very pleased with my experience. These guys are no nonsense and didn't try to up sell me on services I didn't need. I dropped my car off in the morning with no appointment and they were able to complete it by the afternoon. I will definitely be going back to them next year.

I saw this place has good reviews so I went there to inspect my car and get oil changed. I dropped off my car in the morning and late afternoon I got a phone call saying that while my vehicle past the inspection I can't get a sticker until it passes an emission test, which they don't do for my vehicle. They also explicitly said that if I got and get an emission test, they will give me the sticker without reinspecting the vehicle. After getting the emission test, they said it must be reinspected, because it left the place. I was upset because I was there with my baby and it was very hard to wait for them to reinspect the vehicle. Unfortunately, they drove the vehicle with the emergency brakes on, which now don't function as well. When I politely mentioned this to them they said "it doesn't harm the emergency brakes to drive with them on." and then without any reply from my side he went on and said "go somewhere else, we don't need customers like you". I was very insulted but didn't say a word, I just left.Services: Vehicle Inspection, Oil change

I have been using Homer s for 8 years now. They have ALWAYS taken care of me and my family s vehicles. They are honest and helps us find solutions in order to give us the cheapest/fairest prices to get my issues fixed. They honor car part warranties and if it is defective, they ll fix/replace them for free (of course depends on the issue I m sure I don t want to provide false advertisement). They are kind and always so friendly when greeting me. They helped me fix my flat super fast with my time constraints even when their bay are full of cars! Excellent! I had a flat tire on a day when 4 other garages wouldn't take me, and they said I could stop by in 20 minutes. They asked if I would be waiting here - when I said yes, they told the other employees to get started on my tire immediately. Awesome team, so professional and friendly. As someone who knows zero about cars and is wary of sales oriented technicians, this is the first independent garage in Pittsburgh I felt was honest and reliable. It s truly hard to find a quality and honest garage. When you do it s almost always unaffordable. I ve had terrible auto repair experiences in my life. It s always hard to find someone new when you move as well.Homer s was fast, friendly, affordable, and they fixed what needed to be without all the upselling nonsense. I d recommend anyone in East Pittsburgh to go there in a heartbeat, and I wish I d known about them when I first moved to the city. A+

I was looking for a fair and reliable garage for inspection and I found it! The staff at Homer's was friendly and helpful. The service was scheduled and completed promptly, and was reasonably priced with no attempt to sell me on any extra services. I'll take all my repairs there in the future.

Homer's is incredible. We've been taking our two family cars there for four or five years now, and they've always done great work, and their pricing has always been very fair. On several occasions they've refused to charge us for very simple, quick work. I have recommended them to many people, and everyone who has used them always concurs. There's often no one at the counter, so you should plan on waiting a bit whether calling or showing up in person, but it is well worth it to deal with honest, good mechanics. Thank you guys!

Great service and great quality of work! When my car was in for inspection, a lot needed to be fixed - they helped me by explaining the repairs, showing me the cost breakdown, and giving me time to decide how to proceed. They are always honest and helpful. I have been there numerous times and they have always provided excellent work and customer service! I cannot recommend them enough.

They were quick, efficient, and managed to keep prices down by finding good used parts for my car. A different mechanic had quoted my car as needing over $1000 of work to pass inspection, but Homer's was able to get it done for $250 . I'll definitely be going back if i need service again. They also were honest that they couldn't beat someone else's price for air conditioning maintenance. Honesty is my biggest value in finding a good mechanic to trust!

Friendly, helpful, and professional. JR explained the issue to me and gave me helpful advice - which in this case was that the issue would not be worth the trouble to fix. I appreciated the frank advice, and not being misled into fixing something unimportant. The rest of the visit was timely and fairly priced.

Affordable and straightforward, honest service. Every repair I have had done has been fairly priced and completed quickly. The mechanics communicate well and answer questions. What really impressed me is that they allowed me to order my own windshield wiper nozzle replacements instead of ordering them and billing me like other places would. They don't mind that I schedule multiple services in one trip. I will definitely be returning as long as the service remains great.

I was looking for a place to get a quick oil change at a fair price. I was hesitant to give Homer's a try after reading some bad reviews but I decided to give it a shot and an glad I did.The staff were incredibly nice and accommodating. I waited only 30 minutes from the time they pulled my car in to the time I was driving home. Everyone stopped to say hi while in the waiting room which I thought was nice. I will be bringing all of my vehicle back for service to Homer's after having such a positive experience.

I have been going to these guys for about 2 years now. The first time was when my earlier shop told me I needed to spend 1500 on repairs on my 8 yr old car to get the inspection sticker. I took it to Homers and they passed the inspection and my car has run fine for last 2 years for 20000 miles. I have taken my car there multiple times after, they are knowledgeable auto professionals, they are always honest and never overcharge.During the day all of them are busy working in the shop so sometimes it is difficult to get in touch with them during the day. Your best bet is to drop your car off and wait for them to call you. For the great service they provide at the great cost,you gotta cut them some slack

This place is fantastic! It's so difficult to find a reliable, reasonable mechanic in the city. But, these guys go above and beyond. Inspections are always affordable and quick. And, they don't try to lie to you or talk you into fixing something you don't need to fix. Just yesterday, I was having an awful day and to top it off, my car started to make a terrible high-pitched scraping noise. I brought it into Homer's, and they fixed it within a day. The best part: they didn't even charge me! I was floored! I've never heard of a mechanic doing that. These guys have my business for life. Definitely worth checking out!

I have had great experiences with Homer s over the years. They are honest and they don t over-charge. They have a large and loyal customer base which means they are always busy, so I try to call in advance if possible but they have always worked with me when I needed something done quick. We are lucky to have them in the neighborhood. I don t take my vehicles anywhere else.
