Was quoted $1000 for new tires, base model, and told my tires did not pass inspection. Took to Firestone and new tires were only $500 and was informed my tires were all in passing condition. New tires should've been suggested but my vehicle should've received an acceptable state inspection report. Do not fall for the convenience of this place.

Where to start - I had been taking my car here for years since it was nearby, but unsure why I stayed as long as I did.First - they lectured me about driving more because my rotors/brakes were rusty (yeah it's west PA...) and charged $900 for one set of rear brakes and rotors (should be a $400 job tops). Then these same brakes/rotors failed their own inspection 10k miles later! Then - took for an A/C fix. They "fixed it" ($600) and it was broken one month later. Took to the dealer who fixed it for good (working 3+ years now) for only $100, so clearly they misdiagnosed the issue. Now - I needed a new clutch and they told me I should total the car, quoting $6k in work. I took it to another place that did all the work they quoted AND more (fixing their brake job, new tie rods, fixing power steering etc...) for only $2300. Bottom line - I would never bring my car to this place and if you do, get another quote.

I ve taken my car here twice, once when another company messed up a muffler repair and once for inspection. Both times were a great experience. I didn t feel like they were trying to upsell me or take advantage. I shop around and the suggestions/pricing at Frick Park Automotive were more reasonable and more realistic than the upselling at Honda and even another small business. Some prices might be a little on the higher side when you look at them individually compared with other providers but for me, as a whole, they were much less expensive. Honda tried to convince me I needed several other things that were not actually necessary at this time. Even after I told them I was planning to buy a new car soon and wanted the bareminimum. Highly recommend Frick Park Automotive. I ll pay a little extra on individual products and services for a small business and recommendations I can trust.

Brought my car in same day to patch a tire. They were incredibly quick, friendly, and honest! Did not even charge me for the repair. I can t thank you enough!

Absolutely rude and abusive non service. I showed up for an appointment on time and was told that it had to be rescheduled because one mechanic was sick. I asked why didn't they call me and the guy behind the counter accused me of having an attitude! And then went into a tirade. I guess the customer isn't always right at this place.

I ve only taken my car here a few times, two of which were for punctured tires. Both times they removed the object, patched the tire and didn t charge me. Everyone I ve interacted with there has been super helpful and friendly.

I live close by this business and have used them twice for my car inspection. I am able to drop off my car the evening before my appointment and then receive a call when pick up is ready. I appreciate that I can stop by if I have a concern and my questions are always addressed, also I was having problems with my tires and needed air on several occasions, no problem. I would recommend this location for anyone in need of car service. They always answer the phone and it s a real person, wow!!

I would have given a higher rating except for the price I was charged on brake parts. Rear brake pads=$94.83, 1 rear brake rotor =$111.25, 1 rear brake calliper =$246.90, over $450.00 for these parts, this did not include labor. This is unfair! I could have taken this to the dealership for less. I understand making a profit, but this is not right. The labor charge was acceptable, thus giving a rating of two stars.

Bob and his crew were very nice. It was easy to make an appointment and I didn t have to wait long. They did diagnostics and repair the same day. Very affordable too. Driving feels much better now.Services: Electrical, Brakes, Brake service & repairServices: Electrical, Brakes, Brake service & repair

I cannot emphasize this enough- DO NOT GO HERE! They are incredibly overpriced and incredibly rude. Every aspect of my experience was bad, but specifically:-To get my brake pads and rotors replaced was nearly $1,000. I understand that this isn't the cheapest fix on a car, but the cost of materials ordinarily shouldn't be half of that. Retail price for brake pads is about $50; they charged me $100. I understand the shop needs to make a profit on the parts they are buying, but doubling the cost of each part is predatory.-The man who answers the phones and processed my payment was so condescending. He didn't acknowledge me when I first went in and said good morning. We stood in silence until he finally looked up and said, "Yeah, what's up?" He called me to tell me my car was done but said that they couldn't accept Visa at the moment (which is the only card I have). Any question I asked to figure out the payment he was defensive and quick to cut me off. When he did let me get a word in, I could hear him (distantly, like he had moved away from he phone) answering other phone calls. He just kept repeating "We can take American Express and Discover. You'll have to figure it out" as if a system failure on his end and an inability to work on a solution that didn't involve cards I do not have was my fault. Lastly, I had a $7 coupon for my oil change. When I showed it to him (mind you, before I presented my payment), he rolled his eyes so hard he moved his entire head with it. He said, "You guys have GOT to show me that when you first drop your car off." There was nothing that specified that on the coupon, and other Valvoline locations took coupons when you paid; I said so. "Well you should have printed it." There wasn't even a barcode or a PDF of the coupon, just an email with a 3 letter code saying it was valid at this location. He sighed and said "Fine, that brings your total to xxx." When I checked the receipt later, he did not take off the $7. It's $7 off of $1,200, but it's the principle of it. These things, combined with the several condescending "lectures" he gave me (how brakes work, why his shop is better than going anywhere else, how new brakes feel and smell and 'don't freak out, your car isn't on fire'), are completely unacceptable, and to me made it clear he thought I was a dumb young woman who knows nothing about cars. All of the negative things from the 1 and 2 star reviews are correct. I tried to support a local business and focus on the stellar reviews, but this shop will not be getting my business ever again. Hopefully, this business will not get yours either.Services: Transmission, Brakes, Brake service & repair, Oil change

Past 2 days my rear tire kept going flat. I called down on a Saturday to see if they were able to squeeze me in to look at it (as other places were booked until at least mid week). I was able to bring my car down and the gentleman fixed it in under 30 minutes (I had a screw in it) and didn't charge me for the tire plug. I loved the mechanics humor (he said I got screwed, lol) and will definitely be back to this place.Service: Tires

Very trustworthy and helpful, always willing to explain things to me and help me find a solution I can afford. Had one scheduling problem, but that's over 7 years of getting regular service here. I'm always greeted with a smile. Definitely recommend.

Nice people! I had a clipped mirror that needed to be replaced. I m in the neighborhood, so I gave FPA a call. Bob was concerned that with the snow coming, it would take a while to get the part into the shop so he told me exactly where I could go pick up the part in the city myself (got it for $26 bucks, saving me a ton of money) and said to come buy the next day and he d put it on for me. He had it done for me in under a half hour, and when I asked how much I owed, he said Don t worry about it, next time give me something hard to do! Really appreciated the great service. Seems like I may have found my new mechanic!

Fantastic service and good people. Have been going to them for any work I cant handle on my own and they point me in the direction when they can. If you bring a high value/expensive car they will keep it in their bay overnight. Greg is brilliant at all things motorcycle and just as good with 4 wheels and Bob knows how to break it down for customers to understand. They just got an additional two(2) bays too.

Let's be honest, no one likes dumping more money into a car, especially when things unexpectedly break and cost hundreds - or more - to fix. I've taken my car and my wife's to Bob and his crew for a while now and they all all are great guys. They're honest, reasonable, hard working and will do what they can to make this a painless process. Bob gave me tips on how to keep repair costs down, and he pulled through during a flat tire emergency. You should be comfortable in trusting him when he's working on you car. I know I am.

Would really prefer to put 3.5 stars but can't put that. This is an honest and reputable shop, and the owner Bob seems like a great, straight forward guy. Like some others mentioned though, it is pricey. This is an independently owned shop in the city, so that likely influences the costs, and I'm happy to support them and not a chain. I felt as though I should write a review though just in case you have time to look around for a good price. Some of the parts I needed are more expensive from the shop than I have found online when looking them up later, and the labor is roughly $100 an hour which is on the higher side for an independent shop. For me it is worth it since it is a close shop, and I trust their work, but once I move from the neighborhood (which is soon), I will not likely take my vehicle there again. Overall, not a bad place though.

One of the best garage experiences I have ever had and will continue to have. The mechanics are friendly and fair. They call you every step of the way to let you know what is going on with your car and do what they can to work with you on getting the issues resolved. Originally stopped in because of a rattling noise. They found the problem in minutes, fixed it quickly and didn't charge because it wasn't a huge undertaking. In and out 20 minutes. I have been there since and will use this garage as needed for the foreseeable future.

I've taken both of my cars to Frick Park Automotive for various work since we moved to the neighborhood. Some big issues and a few ridiculously small ones that Bob was able to take care of in minutes. They don't have hidden charges or run up a bill without discussing the situation honestly first. I've never had a mechanic's shop that I trusted and liked before, but it is a welcome change. It's nice to know that Frick Park Automotive is just down the street for the next time my cars have problems.

Had my vehicle dropped off for tire work. Bob & the guys took care of it fast, and the price was more than fair. I've never taken my car to Frick Park Automotive for any repairs or inspections before, but the way I was treated has definitely earned them some goodwill and future business. Thanks.

I had a nail in my tire, causing a slow leak. These guys fixed it within the hour when everyone else was booked out days or even weeks... And amazingly, didn't charge for it! Amazing service.

Wanted to give them business because I'm new to the neighborhood and wanted to give business to someone in the neighborhood. They will scam you, rip you off, etc. charged me a total of $127 for an inspection. Tried to charge me $1200 for a repair that I had done for $70 elsewhere and tried to charge me for a "brake cleaning" (whatever the hell that is). I think they may have assumed that I'm not knowledgeable about cars? Go somewhere else.

Bob and staff at Frick Park Auto are by far the best in the business. I have taken my car to dealers for repair before I found Frick Park and boy do I wish I found them sooner. After a year of nightmares at the dealer, Bob had my issue repaired with no problems and the price was 1/10th of the cost of what the dealer charged. Not only price but customer service and professionalism makes Frick Park Auto the place to go for your automotive needs. Top Notch!!!!!

FPA has kept my car in great shape since I bought it in 2002. They are courteous, patient, good about explaining/showing me what they've done, and have often told me they didn't need to do things I thought might be necessary. They have my car ready when they say they will. Just great to work with, and a good place to have in the neighborhood! I trust them.

Attempted to make an appointment for some tire work here and was amazed at how rude and unprofessional the gentleman that answered the phone was. I ve used many local service stations, rather than going to chains like Midas, Meineke etc, never have I ever been spoken to in such a downright rude manner! I hope he s as busy as he claimed he was, because if he continues to talk to people like that, he s gonna need the business of repeat clients.

I had taken my 2012 VW Touareg there for a rear brake job pads which I had purchased oem parts for. I then explain that my regular mechanic could not do the job because it required specific knowledge to complete the job properly.Bob says I can turn a wrench, no problem I take the car in and he attempts the job but runs into problems and was causing issues that the car never had, he then goes on to blame the last mechanic for the issues. He calls and says the car is ready for pickup. I get there and the car has several warning lights on Bob says Just go to the dealer and they can clear those.I stateted I m not paying for a job that wasn t complete. Bob kept the car and ended up fixing the issue.I felt that more due diligence should have been done before attempting the job. I was facing additional charges had he not continued to work on the car at my request.

I have had nothing but positive experiences with these guys. If I've ever had any issue - from an emergency to simply an inspection/oil change - they take me either same day or the next day. Their prices are reasonable, they patiently explain everything that they do and the reasoning behind it, and don't try to push you into spending money you don't need to spend. In fact, they always provide helpful tips for how to keep me from having to spend money!I usually deal with one guy in particular (his name escapes me), but he is always friendly and cheerful and accommodating! Their hours might be a little more convenient if they were open later, but being open on Saturday helps, and the location is convenient and the materials they use are good quality. I highly recommend!

STEER CLEAR! Made the mistake of taking my car there after hearing a few years ago that this place did respectable work. Took my car in to get it inspected and got a bill for thousands of dollars. Initially I was happy to pay it because I thought my car would be in better shape when I got it back. WRONG! Car made terrible noises and vibrated like crazy when I started it. The car now has a rough idle and every time you stop, car vibrates. Brought this to their attention and they said to bring it back if problems continued. Before they had worked on it, the car never made any strange noises and did not vibrate. They didn't look at when I brought this to their attention. Took my car back twice and they had no idea how to fix it. Also they kept saying they had nothing to do with the problem. They never offered an explanation or any type of refund. What a huge disappointment.

The guy who was there this morning told me that I was uneducated and had a ton of problems that I actually did not have. He told me I needed things replace that were just replaced. Keep in mind, this was before I popped my hood open. It s obvious The color of my skin drove his assumptions. Finally, after he proceeded in a one sided confrontation saying quote I m not gonna argue with you, I simply replied Thank you, Before he would tell me and his own words, Some ones ripping you off. When I Thought to myself how true his statement actually was.

I do not trust this repair shop.I recently went here to replace a wheel bearing. There was a huge mark-up on the price of the bearing - charged $470 but the part is available for $180 online. I called Pep boys to get a quote on the repair and they quoted a price that was $300 less than they charged (almost all the price difference was in the price of the part). I understand parts will have some mark-up but over 150% is dishonest.I will no longer take my business to this place and will not refer anyone here.
