I was looking for a new place to take my car since I feel most dealerships or well known places tend to rip me off. Black Forest was small, but it was down the street and seemed like it had pretty decent reviews. I reached out a couple of times online. It took them a little longer than I had hoped to get back to me but I was too surprised considering how small they are.Vic reached out to me and incredibly kind, flexible, and friendly. I explained the issue with my car (noises, oil change, check engine light on and then off). They checked the car and very quickly got back to me with an answer. Vic did a wonderful job explaining everything to me and not once did I feel pressure to do buy something or spend more money on the car than I needed to. I think they were reasonably priced, efficient, and very friendly!

Victor and his staff are the most kindest, fair, knowledgeable and efficient auto personnel that I have ever worked with. Corrected my problem in 10 minutes and the price was way under what I expected to pay. Love this business!

It's definitely a good place to go. They are efficient, personable, and know their stuff. Sometimes they get backed up but they are worth the wait in my opinion. Thanks Black Forest!

Honest, kind, transparent and genuine are the words that come to mind when I think about Black Forest.My family used Black Forest when I was a little kid and I started using them again after a bad experience with a mechanic closer to my home.Black Forest is the last of a dying bread of honest and transparent mechanics.I had them install a new exhaust on my SUV years ago. Recently, I noticed a hole in the muffler and took it back to Black Forest. I was disappointed to hear that not only was my muffler rusted beyond repair but my catalytic converters also needed to be replaced. This repair is easily $4,000.What blew my mind was that Black Forest called me and told me that they were able to get the main parts covered under the warranty from when they installed them years ago. They could have EASILY had them replaced under warranty and still charged me for them. Their honesty, excellent work and mom and pop vibes speak volumes to why they're always busy.Additionally, there is no work they cannot do. I had a drawer system for my SUV shipped to them on a pallet and they installed it for a 1/4 of what I was quoted by off-road shops.I have and will use them for all of my non-dealer covered auto repairs and I hope they're still around for my kids to use them too.Services: Transmission, Carburetor cleaning, Electrical repair, Air & cabin filter replacement, Exhaust, Tires, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Auto engine tuning, Body & Trim, Engine repair, Wheel alignment, Brakes, A/C installation & repair, Air conditioning, Battery, Oil change

Victor has been w Black Forest Auto for along time. Now the owner, Would not trust my 1991 V12 Jag w anyone else.Always has time to explain and give best options available. Want your car fixed? Trust Black Forest Auto since 1991 my family has.

Excellent service! Victor is awesome!I was quoted over 5k in repairs from the dealership and brought it to Black Forest and they were able to do everything at less than half the price. Victor was super friendly and explained everything in detail before any work was done and the car was ready when promised. I highly recommend Black Forest.And.... He even called me a week after I picked the car up to make sure everything was to my satisfaction!Can't beat that customer service!

Amazing customer service. My VW Golf died on me on the way home from work. I got a jump and headed to Black Forest 30 minutes before they were closing without an appointment. The staff there checked ro see if they had the battery in stock and changed it out in 15 minutes. Great customer service and I will 100% be back.

They just might be the best service center in the area. Extremely fair and as honest as they come. The folks who with there are extremely friendly, and did I tell you they go above and beyond to answer any questions you may have? They are extremely competent and continually communicate their progress. I don't hesitate to recommend this team for taking care of your vehicle needs. It is an honest local shop with no interest in upselling you regarding either parts or service. If your car needs something, they'll tell you and, if it doesn't, they won't push it. They seem to really care about their business and will make every effort to take care of you and your automobile. I'm so fortunate to have found them!

These guys are wonderful! We live on the other side of the state, but our daughters have attended the University of Valley Forge, right up the road from this shop. They have always been very good to our girls, fair and honest, which is hard to find for young women sometimes! This past week it was my turn - my car broke down while visiting out there and they got me in right away! It was an expensive repair, but upon researching what they did through other internet sources, we verified that once again they are solid, honest people. Thank you, Brandon and team, for getting me back on the road faster that I could have imagined! You are truly a God-send!!Service: Electrical repair

I was in a really bad bind with a coolant thermostat the day before Xmas eve. I was supposed to drive back to Utah the day after Xmas. I called and left a message before they were open. They called me back 20 mins later to confirm and had me in the shop within a half hour.They fixed my problem, at a super fair price, and were godsends. Would 100% recommend them.Service: General repairs & maintenance

The best! Brandon at the front desk is friendly and welcoming. Victor the car mechanic is wonderful and great at what he does. The older gentleman who is also a mechanic has always done a wonderful job as well too. A+ service!! Highly recommend

I recently tried black forest automotive to fix a suspension issue I was having on my GTI as well as get an inspection. The pricing was very reasonable and the mechanics were honest about the time that it would take to complete the job - not just charge me according to a standardized shop time.Scheduling was easy and the car was finished and ready for me to pick up early the next morning which caused the least amount of disruption to my schedule as possible.Based on my experience here and dealings with the people who work at the shop, I ll be back.

I'm always treated with professionalism and kindness when taking my car in here. It is an honest local shop with no interest in upselling you on parts or service. If your car needs something, they'll tell you. If it doesn't, it's a non issue. The prices are very reasonable, too!!

I can only give this place 2 stars just because of the way the owner talks to customers. I have taken both of my cars here for inspection without an issue but don't expect a good response if say anything more than "OK" when they quote you on services.NOTE: The techs here really know their stuff and if it was just for them I would give it 5 stars.I called asking for a quote to swap a differential on an old BMW and the lady told me I would have a quote by EOD.No call back.Not a problem.I call back the next day and the owner picks up.I ask him about the quote an he says he has no idea what I'm talking about.... okI then explain what Im looking for again.He goes on to give me an estimate that is much higher than the one he gave me a couple months before.When confronted about this the owner explained it was because I was supplying my own parts....Huh?He then made some analogy saying "you don't go to a diner and bring your own eggs" then abruptly hangs up the phone.Seems like he doesn't need the business, so I called a better shop (that builds BMW race cars) and got a proper quote for much less than what he was asking for.Even if I decided to go here, I would be scared if anything broke as a result of their work. Then I would end up having a similar conversation as the one above and end up sh*ts creek without a paddle.Always shop around when looking to get work done on your car and don't waste time on people that don't respect your business.Black Forest Auto just lost mine...

This establishment is rude and does not honor your appointments. BEWARE THE DOGS, THEY WILL BITE!!! I had made a 9 am appointment to have an estimate done on my vehicle for an exhaust problem, I am a busy college student, professional choral member, and the owner of a vehicle detailing company. When I showed up for my appointment I was told that they did not have time for me, and that I would have to either reschedule for 2 pm or wait an entire week for another appointment. As per company policy I issued them with an invoice for a missed appointment. I was cursed at and spoken down to. The woman at the front desk slammed her hand on the table while yelling at me, even while I maintained a calm demeanor. The dogs on the premises attacked me upon entering, biting me, but not breaking the skin. This is an extremely unprofessional business and does not deserve your business.

I was able to get a new starter installed in my car in a short amount of time for a great price. The lady who helped me was very kind and the speed that this was done in was great and I was able to get back to work right away.

Outstanding service,would never go anywhere else.They keep my 2002 Mercedes running smoothly.I love the sweet dog that greets people as they arrive.The women at they desk are friendly and helpful.Best place,and best mechanic.
