So like I tell people I'm a review connoisseur basically because it's either to help a business or basically for people not to waste their time, money and their efforts going to a business. So I came to shums in october, 25th 2023 for a front and rear wheel alignment, I spoke to Chris he was very professional, soft spoken, patient, honest, and very informative. Chris overlooked the vehicle and realized that the tires were bald in the front and were not of good standing, I told him I was going to get new tires he stated it would be better for me to get the tires first, than him do the alignment because then I would have to come back and redo the alignment again after I got the new tires. So I didn't waste money paying twice, I decided to wait until I got the tires to come back to do the alignment. I was requested to come in the following week. I arrived on 11/3/2023 and spoke to Andre, he was professional, soft spoken, patient, honest, and understanding to my situation. Chris was on vacation that week. So when speaking to Andre, I requested for the front and rear wheel alignments, he basically stated they were busy, but they would try to squeeze me in and see what can be done for me that day which I was very appreciative. He took my information and my keys and handed the mechanic my keys and paperwork. Within 30 minutes of me arriving my vehicle was in the bay. In the process Andre was back and forth every 20 minutes informing me of my truck situation and what was going on there was a replacement of certain bolts that were needed for the alignment which needed to be replaced because they were old, stripped and Rusty. It took about an hour and a half for the whole alignment and replacement of the bolts! The one thing I loved about this place it was very clean and beautifully designed. It had a lot of amenities between TV, chips, soda, water, fruits, juice for kids, a little mini refrigerator, coffee maker, and comfortable sofas to sit on while we waited. They even supply a bathroom for their customers which was beautifully clean and nicely designed as well which I think is a good positive especially when you have customers that are coming to spend their money, its nice to be able to relieve themselves when they need to. All in all if I could give them (10 Stars) I would but we're only allowed up to five and with the professionalism, honesty, integrity, patience, understanding, fairness in prices, and showing their customers how much they care. I did return to this establishment two more times afterwards on 02/01/2024 and also on 02/06/2024 to get other things done which were done correctly, and professionally and each time coming back I was treated the same way that all the other customers were treated. I have always had trust issues especially when it comes to mechanics I've been burnt before, I've been to mechanic shops that did me dirty and you know when you feel that trust is the hardest thing to come by when you're having your vehicle worked on by someone who is not known, because a lot of garages will try to get over on you, and charge you more money than the job is even worth or even say something was broken and it wasn't, or do things in a manner that so they can get more money out of you. Shums showed me Honesty, integrity, that i could trust in them with clarity, and fairness in pricing! It means everything when it comes to being a customer and if a company is honest and does the work correctly it always means they will always have a return customer. I would recommend Shums for their honesty, Integrity, trust worthyness, clarity and fair pricing that meant a lot to me, and it means I will always return as a customer and I hope that in the future other people will read this review and take it to light and make the same decision I made thank you Chris, Andre and Mike. I came here for a purchase inspection for a car I was planning on buying. Inside is very clean and professional. I was in and out in about 30 minutes. I even came back that same day do have some repairs done, which was done in a couple hours. Everyone there was great, from the manager, Chris, to the mechanic who looked at my car and walked me through all the small things that might need repair in the future. Everyone was very helpful, informative, polite and friendly. The manager even sent me a follow-up text a couple days later to make sure everything was good. Customer service was above and beyond what is normal from a service shop these days. I highly recommend taking your car there.

First off, staff is very professional and friendly. Explains issues precisely and thoroughly. Waiting area has free coffee/beverages for paying customers which is a plus and smells nice and clean. All fixes/changes on vehicles are reported to car fax to keep everything on record which is amazing as well. This is my new place we will be coming to for all my future vehicle needs!

Trouble with my tire pressure and I found this place by Google place near me. Issue was fixed within a hour. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Waiting room was super comfy with a complimentary snack bar to die for. Coffee tea hot chocolate and soda plus water....I usually see this type of service ONLY at the car dealership....Small place with Great service without dealership prices. Thanks for making me a Happy customer.

First !!! this place is alway clean and in order !! They always greet you with a smile and helpful demeanor. I dropped off my vehicle *Ram 1500 for a routine oil & filter change the technician did a * thorough check of my vehicle and made a few sensible service recommendations to insure my vehicle continues to run well. I m very satisfied with the customer service and automotive service that I received at Shums Auto Repair. The technician was extremely thorough and transparent while my vehicle was in their care.* I appreciate Honest automotive careI would be very confident in recommending Shums Auto Repair to family and friends.

I purchased a lemon from car vision who refused to take the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander back. After going to two mechanics one being the dealer, they said no issues with the car. I just brought it to Shums on Rhawn st they found the issue that two other mechanics failed to find. Two cracked tire rods and a bunch of other problems. The car drives smooth without the car swaying back and forth now.Great shop! Very smart peopleShums fixed it in on day savinga lot of $ on a rental car.

Chris is amazing! Super knowledgeable and comforting. I know nothing about cars but he has explained everything in full, understandable detail. Not only him but the team is super nice and simplify things for me. Availability has never been an issue either which is a plus! Haven t met the owner himself but he answered the phone once and his personality alone brought me in here. Told him my issues and was super ecstatic telling me that they could handle it all! Don t think about it, just come here!

Chris makes you feel very welcomed and assured and answers any questions you have and want to know about your vehicle or payments. This is my third time coming to Shums and every time has been a great experience and easy process. Thank you so much! to the wonderful team for fixing my car and for opening the doors to me unexpectedly last minutes before closing. I would recommend Shums to anyone without a doubt!

Not listening to the customer was the first mistake. When my husband told them the problem was in the rear of the van, they told him convincingly that it was in the front. Having trusted them in the past, he said to go ahead with the work. After he picked up the vehicle, he took it for a test drive to see if the problem persists, and it did. Just wasted $1000 for something that wasn't urgent. Did it need to be done? Probably, but it wasn't the most important thing to have done, especially at this time of year when our business is slow and have a limited budget, which Mike explained to them. Definitely horrendous customer service. They also dismissed the fact that Meinike said the problem was in the rear of the van as well, saying that they don't listen to what other shops say. I call that pride, and pride goes before a fall. You have definitely failed us. Big time.

This place is very professional and friendly. They have me a time frame for my vehicle repairs and delivered on time. I also received a text from them after I picked up my car to make sure everything was running smoothly. I ll definitely recommend Shums!

If you respect your money run far away ps They re straight after your money I brought my serpentine belt and brought my car in for a change and they call me talking about to diagnose it ll be 200$ .. like what yo .. I told y all exactly what I wanted done A BELT PUT ON 200 for diagnostic and 280 to put the belt on I laughed at these ppl they want u to pay for their uniforms YALL trash and you charge ppl to wait for their vehicle is nutz I read the comments all positive comments either fake or yt ppl . They think everyone who brings their car to them is illiterate when in fact I know more than the dude on the phone giving out prices

I went to get an oil change and that was fine, but I also went to put a spare tire on bc I had a flat. After a complimentary diagnostic, they told me that I needed to get major work done (estimate of $900) because my 4 wheel drive was leaking. They did not mention that I had a tire that was the wrong size, which seemed very obvious.A week later I went elsewhere to get new tires, as it needed to be done, and the other mechanic said that the problem that Shums pointed out was not a major problem (even though Shums said it was something any mechanic would be able to spot). Shums was definitely preemptively trying to get me to do expensive work. BYE

PHENOMENAL place to get your vehicle maintained and repaired at! Christopher Gillespie is a great Service Manager and if you have any issues he is very knowledgeable about the fundamentals of a vehicle to ensure the correct issues are being taken care of. 100% an honest and great place to go. I don t trust every shop out there however this one never tries to upsell me on maintenance I don t need!

The assistant manager named Chris is very professional and andre the owner hired the right people. I hope Shums repair shop expanded their the business through different states. I highly recommend to this auto shop they are not salesman to sale u anything. They treated u like family. I say that because I went here few times. I never have no problems.

Went in to see what was wrong with my car s exhaust system and repair it. Unfortunately it was too expensive. But the guy at the front was super professional, and the place was very clean. They were able to tell me exactly what was wrong, and what needed to be done quickly. Best auto repair place I ve been to even though I didn t really get anything done.

This place is a complete fraud. $118 to replace 2 license plates bulbs and 2 orange blinker lights. The lights cost $15. The $20 inspection is a honeypot scam.I notice you don't actually reply to the cost of bulb replacement!What's your hourly labor rate?

In the need to get inspection within 10 days of registering my car (just moved from NY), I was a little worried of finding a new mechanic who seemed promising. I read all the amazing reviews and was able to bring in my car the next day for the inspection. I was amazed by the price but also their service, their honest recommendations on what needs to be replaced, and how quick they were able to get the job done.
