Great mechanic. Did an outstanding job on our Mini Cooper. I love the fact that we have found a mechanic we can trust who does great work. Will be going to Tamir for a long time to come

Update: the plug did not stick, and I had to take my car to another garage to replace the tire. Will never come back here.Charged $56 to plug my tire, which is more than double what it should cost. Quick turnaround and good service, but I would only come back in an emergency.

I was looking for a new mechanic and stumbled onto Reds & Son. They did not disappoint. I even met someone who shared that he s been going to them for about 30 years. They were attentive, reasonable & the job was done beautifully. They are now my Go-To mechanic.

I was traveling with my son and my car was making awful noises and I called the first local place. He hiked it up immediately started fixing it while I chatted with the other attendant. Then he sent us on our way with a Merry Christmas in 15 minutes with no charge. They are kind, efficient and my car has not had any trouble since (this was two weeks ago!)

I am sure that every circumstance is different and I know that I got really lucky, but I had the best experience ever with this garage! After calling multiple garages and being told that they wouldn't be able to service my car for days, I reached out to Reds & Sons, they told me to bring my car right down, they called me an hour later to tell me the problem was an easy fix and they didn't even charge me!! People were incredibly nice and they secured a lifelong customer in me. A mechanic, in the city, that you can trust, priceless!!

They did some work on my mother's car. They did a good job but the labor rate was a bit high (that near downtown location can't be cheap for a indepenedent shop though)Edit: Boy was I wrong - They used a ziptie to secure the alternator on my mother's car, which my brother in law discovered when he was going to replace the belt because it was having issues after they supposedly fixed it (they didn't replace the top bolt and the zip tie they used loosened up)

I was in Philly for a conference and they really helped me out of a jam when my car broke down. He was honest and didn't know if he could fit it in depending on what it was but did everything he could and ended up getting it done that day. They saved my upcoming vacation. Thank you!

They're a great family run business and they really take care of you. I've never had issue getting an appointment (usually day of) and they do great work. When I had an issue resurface, they told me to come right over and they took care of it. Fair pricing and good people!Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

Drove 30 min after calling the man on the phone said come down yea you can come in for a hose replacement Drove 30 min in my car barely making it with my daughter for the man at the front desk to be disrespectful. He kept asking me what s wrong with the car and act like he ain t want to even help me then ask me to come down tomorrow to get it fixed after I called. He didn t even want to run the diagnostic like I m the mechanic this little shop on this corner is not worth bringing your car down here! Avoid avoid avoid

I called in to get the regular annual inspection done. They were able to get me in the next day which was great. The process was easy. Only thing that made me sick to my stomach was being charged for something that wasn t part of the inspection and without letting me know prior to doing it. I was told they typically don t consult the customer if the charge is under $100. I was not aware of this and they did apologize for the misunderstanding.

These guys went out of their way to help out a stranded out of state Audi driver by waiting an hr after closing to receive the dead Q5.It was an alternator and they had it replaced and ready to go in less then 12 hrs after getting the car.Recommended a nearby name brand hotel and contacted us when SUV was ready!Outstanding service and basic human compassion!Take your luxury car service needs here!

Great experience! I've been going here for several years and they're fair with pricing and also quick with service. Plus they don't tack on a bunch of charges as a surprise, they let you know what they think will need work coming up and how quickly they think it should be done, very helpful. Definitely keep going here for my car needs.

Labor rate is high, but you pay for what you get. An honest mechanic that knows what they re doing is something I m willing to pay more for

I've gone to Reds for a few items including oil changes, inspections, rim straightening, muffler replacement, etc. I've always had a good experience, and I continue to return to them when I need service on my Smart Car. They tend to be a bit pricey, but not horribly so...they service foreign/German cars, so it's to be expected that things will be a bit more expensive than usual...and my Smart Car is a Mercedes product, so it's just the way it is.

I've came here about 3 other times to get service. I felt like this would be my go to shop until my recent visit. I asked them to check and see why my engine light and brake light were on, a service they usually charge about $100 for. After I came back when they were finished they proceeded to tell me that I had to pay at least $350 for labor and that it would be a $600 dollar job. I told them I couldn't get it fixed that day but next friday and they said that it would cost me more.. I then said I only had $300 and they were like get another 100 and we'll fix it.. I was completely upset. As bad as I wanted to curse them out i couldn't because they still had my car.. that was the last time I will ever go to that shop.. I will gladly pay someone else for my loyal business!!!!

I have a weird obsession with older German cars. When I first went to Reds and Sons it was because my roommate at the time had his 1987 BMW 325i serviced there. I then bought a 1992 Mercedes 190E and now I have a 1995 BMW 525i. Reds and Sons kept my roommate's BMW on the road for nearly 15 years which is a miracle because my roommate did not maintain that car at all. They replaced my whole exhaust system for less than other places were going to charge on my Mercedes and now they have completely inspected and serviced my BMW. They called me and told me things that will be needed in the future but not an emergency which was appreciated and as a result, I had a lot of the work done because the prices were super reasonable and they prioritized what was needed in order of importance for me. This extra bit of customer service and professionalism made getting the work done more achievable and they did not make the most expensive item a top priority but rather the last thing I should do. I love that I am able to budget for the less important but more expensive repairs for later this year; when was the last time a repair shop that did that for you? I highly recommend Reds and Sons for any vehicle but especially if you have an older German car. I think they really love them and they have the magic touch to keep the running in top form!

Had a Neutral Safety Switch go bad on my VW New Beetle, which prevents the car from starting. Called up, and they said to bring it right over. AAA dropped me & the car off around noon, and the work was done before the end of the day. Part was cheaper than I found online, and labor rate was reasonable. Also, very convenient for anyone living or working on the north side of Market Street in Center City. I plan to be a return customer.

Like contractors, good mechanics are hard to find. at Reds and Sons everyone is so knowledgeable and friendly. They have always been so honest and fair and will educate you on any aspect of your car. It is like having our own 'Clik and Clak'!

I have never paid so much in my life. $75 for an oil change, $40 to change tires (the tired were already balanced and on wheels, all they had to do is move them. Could have done it myself with a jack in 45 minutes)

Took my car here for a simple PA state inspection. Dropped it off early in the morning and let them do their work. Well, 6 hours later I came back for them to tell me my low-milage car, which has never had any problems before, has FAILED because of a very very minor issue. I was then offered the "fair price" of $700 to fix it and have it back on the road. Now call me crazy, but seeing half the cars driving around Philadelphia I can tell you that if every mechanic failed a car because of what I failed for, there wouldn't be many cars driving around. This shop will find something wrong with your car at every chance they get. So after paying $70 for absolutely nothing, I also got a ticket for past due inspection tags the next day. Save yourself the headache and don't bother with this place. They don't want you to pass, it's how they make money. Find someone who's honest and doesn't resort to posting fake reviews about their shop either.

Redds and Son auto repair, are total rip offs! Please save your money and time! This place is the worst I've ever seen.... I took my Mercedes to this place for repair. When I picked my car up, I had more issues with my car. They are liars, & rip offs.

Tom (the owner) was not personable at all. I have a 2012 jaguar and could have took it to the dealer but decieded to take it to a local shop with hopes to build a relationship with a local mechanic and was highley dissapointed. The work was completed but the are very very very expensive.

I have been going to Red's for probably 10 years now for inspections and service, after tiring of the giant chain stores. I have never once had an issue, and they seem very reliable and trustworthy to me.

Was charged $120 just to get my car back after I failed the inspection, he said the fee was so he could run diagnostics...never heard of such a ridiculous price just to run diagnostics I ll never ever come here for any service learned my lesson
