Don is a great mechanic. I went to him for 10 years and while I didn't always feel like he listened to me well and hence am at a new place now, he is knowledgeable, considerate, and courteous. I would recommend him but just add that I feel like sometimes he gets so busy and that impacts his ability to fully hear you out when you are sharing a concern about something subtly wrong with your car. But overall, he knows his car stuff and runs a auto shop with integrity and overall good customer service

I was referred to this garage through a friend. I ve brought my car here three times over the last couple years and have had nothing but good experiences.I usually don t write online reviews, but feel like this place deserves a high five. I brought my car in for an inspection this morning completely sure that I needed new brake pads. When I spoke to the mechanic, he explained that my brakes were absolutely fine for the next year or so and he adjusted them free of charge. I really think this kind of honest business practice merits acknowledgement. Most shops would have just changed the brakes regardless and charged me a few hundred bucks.Thank you.. I will definitely be back.

My BEST experience with Don's auto shop. Went to Pep boys to have my cars inspection sticker and they gave me an estimate of $1400 to pass inspection. A friend told me about Don's and I only paid $850 for the same work. Thank you Don's for being courtesy and fast for taking care of my car. I would highly recommend them.

Don and his staff first and foremost treat you with respect and give you straight answers. I had gone to a different shop for an inspection and they had found something wrong. That other shop quoted me $1700 for the repair they claimed I needed, and after some brief research, it was clear they were trying to rip me off. After a brief call with Don, he gave me an idea of what may truly need to be done, and I brought my car over to the shop. In short, Don's shop replaced the parts in question, updated some more of my maintenance requests, swapped my battery as it was time to do so, and finished my state inspection all for hundreds less than the other shop quoted me. I trust that they gave me a fair rate on their services. I will be taking my vehicles here as long as I live in Philadelphia.

I love Don s. Don, his wife, and staff are always friendly and I trust them implicitly.A few months ago I noticed I had a flat and it was about 45min before they were due to close. No hesitation from Don, bring it on over! I still made my dinner reservation with family they fixed me up so quick!

Originally had an appt with pepboys for an oil change. After 5 hours of them telling us we were next, we canceled the appt, picked up our car, and called Don's which was recommended to us by a friend. They were very nice, got us in and out so quickly, and the oil change was 25% cheaper. Def our new go-to.

Don's Auto Repair has been my choice for my mechanic needs since I moved to South Philly four years ago. He is always upfront about the repairs you NEED and the repairs that can wait. He always calls before he starts any work to go over everything with you. Everyone here is just so nice too. Thanks guys!

We realized last minute that we needed an oil change, and Don's was a great place for it. We got a next day appointment, it didn't take long, it was a good price, and they even found a nail in our tire and fixed it for us for a good price. All in all would recommend!

The most honest auto mechanic shop I've ever worked with. I don't feel like I'm getting ripped off, and everything that's done is explained in detail. They get the job done quickly and make you feel like welcome. They're a 10 out 10!!

Here to say that Don's is the best! I'm actually embarrassed that I haven't written a review for this auto repair shop before. I've been going to them for the last decade or so! I ve bought a car through this shop more than once. So, yes, twice. I ve definitely written a thank you card to them (which I NEVER do) and now it's the time to write a thank you note, online, finally. Pretty sure the shop has been around for 27 years. Don s in a strong institution in South Philly. Being in the shop, you can feel the sense of community. Almost everyone I know who has a car and lives in South Philly, frequents this shop. Don, his wife Cassandra (she works the counter) and all the guys in the shop are awesome. They do great work and have really fair prices! I was recommended this place from a friend! I went in for an oil change and tire rotation and ended up needing new tires! Don was very helpful & gave me a GREAT price for 4 new tires! I will definitely be going back for any car maintenance needs and recommending it to others!

Amazing little car shop. Was quick and speedy to complete my state inspection.Fairly priced and I was able to come in bright an early to get it done.Would recommend to a friend, will be back again.

Don s auto is a fantastic place to go. They answer their phones right away, they were able to fit me in same day for something time sensitive, quoted a repair at half the price of a chain auto shop, got my car done within a couple hours, and stayed open a couple minutes extra so i could make it after work.

The only place I go for regular service or work on my car. They don't rip you off. They get you in and out as quickly as possible and value your service. If you need something extra done, other than what you asked for, they'll recommend it and explain if it's necessary and why. They'll schedule separate visits if you need to space out repairs between paychecks. Honestly have never had a surprise charge here like my old mechanic. Don's wants you to trust them. They don't do true appointments which can be tough to schedule around, just general time frames which are limited on weekends. But they're always stupid fast once you get your car there. Absolutely no BS, Don's doesn't have time for that. Great mechanic, will be coming here forever.

By far the best place I ve ever taken my car for service. At first I was skeptical since it was my first time getting my car looked at in the city but honestly couldn t be happier. They are straight to the point, fair, honest and provide quick and reliable service. If you re not sure where to take your car living in Philadelphia or live close by to the city, take your car to Don s.

After people waving and recommending this place, I went here for auto inspection and emissions as well as tire rotation. I didn't expect anything surprise since they were just routine work. But I won't be going back to this place and the reason is that my car's light is on the next day for low tire pressure, and it wasn't a nail or anything (which is what the owner was suspecting when I called). Although checking tire pressure isn't part of the job, but it's something that 99% of the time it'd be checked at other places without even being asked during the annual maintenance, not to mention I also had the tire rotation done this time. Just not worth it nor a place I'll go back to.

Just a heads-up. They will require unnecessary repairs. All they care about is making money. If you have been there already. You are not free to leave.

Stopped by from out of state looking for a pre purchase inspection. I was shocked they were able to fit me in on such short notice given everyone else s glowing reviews. I showed up early and they got started immediately. They were nice, honest, fair and meticulous. Prices were great, too. Can t ask for anything better, would absolutely recommend and will be back if I m ever in the area.

I cannot believe Don has serviced my car all of these years and I've never done a review. The service is always the best. Don and his staff are the best! They explain complex car issues in such a simple way. I bought my a 2013 honda brand new back in 2013, after the dealership robbed me for basic services and didn't do a good job, I found Don. Don has since taken great care of the vehicle and the car is always like new. He has fair pricing and A1 service. If you need your car serviced, you should visit this shop first, they are really great at what they do. Like seriously service is way better than any dealership I've been to. Thanks Don!

Don is a straight shooter and very knowledgeable mechanic! Had to get a new alternator put in my '06 Subaru Forrester. Dropped it off at noon on a weekday and it was done in less than 24 hours.Prices are standard going-rate but they seem very knowledgeable over here and are super quick! I love Don s - it s the only place I ve tried in Philly that doesn t talk down to me for not knowing absolutely everything about my car. They don t try to take advantage of/overcharge you and make you feel like a child, call you sweetie etc, unlike other places I ve been in the city. I've always had a wonderful experience at Don's. Fast service and fair prices. Dons's has also helped me with little notice. Best mechanic in South Philly plus there are beautiful plants in the waiting room!
