Gave me wrong quote on price and ruined my whole day. Would have went over budget on my whole job. Was very rude to my girlfriend. I believe advance quotes a price then the service workers in the Oil City store mark up the prices and then they put the difference in there pocket. They are thieves and scoundrels.

I called first to ask if they had a silver battery. Yes, two! Went right in, paid and the very nice man took out the old and put in the new one! But, not until he cleaned up the holder and sprayed lubricants on the terminals for me! Exceptional and professional service. Thank you!

Their hours state that they close at 8 o clock. Showed up at 6 PM and there was a handwritten sign on the door stating that they closed at 3 PM with no explanation. Drove to Franklin. Same thing. Closed early for some reason. No explanation seems they need to get their act together.

The staff here are generally pretty knowledgeable and well rounded. There have been a few younger folks working who might not have an answer but they are great about getting someone who does or finding it if necessary. The store is nice and clean and I've never had to wait more than a minute to be assisted!

Usually don't have what you need but can get it from the Franklin store so drive the 8 miles

Great, friendly service. There I was in big trouble, with a broken dipstick tube on a early 2000's VW. I thought to myself who in the world carries this product? A quick google search revealed to me that there was an advanced auto only .7 miles from my location who had it in stock. I sprinted the whole way, money in hand. When I blew through the door the clerk eyed me suspiciously at first, I told him through winded breath what I needed. One clerk fired up the computer to find the product in the system while the other V-lined for the fully stocked shelve where the product was located. And then there she was exactly what I needed a new dip stick tube for the early 2000's VW. I was in and out and had thatold dip stick tube stripped and the new one equipped before you could say advanced auto rules.

Finally we have one closer to home, definitely a good thing and good prices. It's nice to not have drive the ten miles we had to before.

I use to think this place was friendly customer service until today when I went in and asked for help. my 3 year old and 7 year old kids was with me. My 3 year old son was looking at the keychains hanging right there underneath the registers and he was about to touch one and the guys got real rude with and was telling him not to touch them and started accusing him of stealing something from there. Ah I m sorry if my 3 YEAR OLD KID stole something from there I think I would of known or saw it but NO HE DIDNT TAKE ANYTHING. like idc who or what but no grown person should be talking to a little kid that way. That was completely rude and uncalled for. All I know is I WILL NOT go there again as long as that guy is working there.. that is NOT a way to treat any customer or even the customers children. Something needs done about that.

Could go back to the way it used to be for cleanliness but I understand times change. Had what I needed and was more than happy to look around. Update 4/5/2022. Store is being rearranged so it might be in disarray but they are carrying diehard tools now..... hope to exchange some broken craftsman.....

It should be called maybe parts,seems like everytime I stopped in to get parts they don't have them and when I ask how much ther prices went up by 35% then I call hovis an they have my parts and they cost anywhere from $10 to $15 dollars less so I'll start out at hovis first from now on..

Hard to take things back even with a recipe,don't have enough cash in the drawer or something,like I took too many things back that last yr,well wouldn't have to take them back if they would have gave me the rite parts to Begin with,5 times in one day they gave me the wrong part...

My son who is from Oil City Pa. and is in 82nd Airborn stationed at Fort Bragg North Carolina was home for leave here in Oil City. He had a check engine light on and bought the part: purge valve and canister from Advance Auto in Oil City for 435.00 dollars. The two things that upset me was number 1, they would not give him a military discount. Number two, after installing the new part, Advance Auto in Oil City would not reset the code, so the check engine light would go out.. Consequently, we drove to NAPA in Senca Pa. and they did reset the code for him for free.

Wiper blades are very expensive at advance I ask for a 18 inch cheapest one was 15.99 or the next one was 24.98 Walmart has cheap ones for 3.96 a piece...

I have tried to call 8 times between 4:55 p.m. and 5:40 p.m. 05/18/2021. No answer. It just rings and rings and Rings until they disconnect you. Makes it hard to make a purchase.
