I must say if been going to john for around 30 years,and you can't find a better mechanic His work has been exceptional. Over those 30 years I may have had to take my vehicles back maybe once. That to me is a pretty good batting average. Check my other reviews, this is literally the only negative review I have written, and this being in my town makes it even more against my norm to write, but I feel like it needs to be written. Took my 71 year old mother's car in for routine inspection(under 5k a year on car) I have driven it regularly and just had exhaust work done and it ran just fine. After it passed, but I turned down an optional thousand dollars in repairs, the check engine lights are flashing and the power is cutting in and out and shuddering literally barely making it two miles home. Called immediately to resolve and they are denying touching anything but miraculously all these problems happened when I took it to them. Will take literally anywhere else to get whatever they broke to get fixed. Office staff is nice though.***UPDATE: AFTER I RAN THE CODES MYSELF AND FOUND A CYLINDER 4 MISFIRE, I DISCOVERED THEY LEFT THE SPARK PLUG WIRE DISCONNECTED***

I've been taking all of my vehicles to West Main Sales and Service for the past 12 years and have always received exceptional service at a very VERY reasonable price.I went there originally as I could NOT trust other repair shop estimates based on Vehicle Inspections. West Main (specifically the owner, John) was forthright and accurate in his listing of issues with my vehicles, could provide the repairs in a reasonable amount of time and with fair pricing.They have performed repairs and maintenance on my vehicles and those of my children and have always stood behind their work. I also purchased my daughters used car through West Main and a Golf Cart for my brother and sister in law. Both at a great price.Every experience has been great and I plan to continue using them for all things related to automotive maintenance and repair. They have also provided GREAT advise on good used vehicles we purchased for our kids... via pre-purchase inspection and evaluation.I hope they stay in business for a very long time. We need more honest inspection stations and full service shops such as West Main Sales and Service.I wish other service shops would model themselves and their practices after the example set by West Main S & S.

Stranded on the highway, AAA was going to tow me to them, and when I called to confirm, the woman that was managing the business was rude, and told me she could do nothing for me, even take off a tire. (Which was all I needed) luckily a near Dunn Tire took care of me.
