I took my 2023 Camaro SS to Brian for a sound upgrade as my Camaro was too tame. I told Brian exactly what I was looking for and he made it happen. Couldn't be more impressed with his attention to detail and the product he provided. My car sounds so much better and now has the tone it should have came with from the factory. Thanks again Brian.

Wasn't pleasant due to some kind of miscommunication(clearing throat)People get upset and NO!!! THE CUSTOMER isn't ALWAYS right but at THE SAME TIME THE SUPPLIER should come thru with their WORDS of trusting you'll DO as YOU claim.. I understand things HAPPEN but if YOU SAY IT then BACK IT UP.. Took TOO long for service needed in my opinion that's ALL... But I'm NO MECHANICHAVE A NICE DAY

Had to call road side assistance for a tow this morning they sent Randy out I didn't see him in person but text and talked on the phone very friendly and helpful would definitely recommend them

Took my vehicle here for flex pipe, cv axil, and ball joint in the past this time was for gasket & water pump. I tried 2 other mechanics other people referred stating they were great of which I got tricked/screwed over by 1st one & then 2nd one kept setting appointments making us wait months like he was avoiding the job (Richie's Auto Repair). So we gave up and called Shaffer's thinking it would be MORE money but it was LESS by over $300, he charged $500 for water pump replacement & gasket. I'm very pleased with the results, glad not to hear my car squealing anymore w/ smoke coming off the hood. I'm thankful he was the only mechanic who even took the job for a more complicated task whereas we called EVERYONE else who declined (and we were prepared to pay over $800). These other mechanics ONLY want to do simple jobs (breaks, oil changes, etc), nothing overly complicated even though we pay what they ask without problems. Thank you Shaffer's for always giving us a good service! I want to come back for the "easy" repairs now and not give my money to other businesses.Services: Auto water leak repair, Engine repair

They are the best bang for your buck. Other places can get it done quicker. Shaffer s does it as good as or better than any place around, for the best prices. I almost hate to recommend, as that may make the wait to get seen, longer. We ve been going to them and occasionally trying others, for almost 3 decades. We keep coming back. Now our grown kids in the area are using them too.

Was passing thru New Castle when a brake line blew out. Called all around for an immediate repair,everyone was booked up for at least 1 week. I called Shaffer's who was also booked up ,i explained my situation and he said bring it in he would put one of his technicians on it. It was repaired and i was sent on my way. I would recommend these guys for any of your vehicle repairs. Thanks guys!Service: Auto brake repair

Worst experience ever! They took a stressful situation and made it even worse. I knew things weren t going to go well when the the tow was supposed to be through AAA, but the driver tried charging me $125 cash. When I explained that this was not a cash deal and it was through AAA the driver immediately starting having difficulty with the tow. He then started making excuses as to why he was unable to tow the vehicle. He tired a few things to make it appear that he was at least attempting. After the state police officer, who was there with me, tried to explain how to get the vehicle moved, he started to get more and more impatient with both of us. He finally told us that he couldn t do anything to help us, and he was going to pass on the job. In the meantime, another tow company who was watching the entire ordeal, said he could tow the vehicle with no problem. In no time at all the vehicle was on the flatbed and ready to be taken away with absolutely no difficulty whatsoever. Unfortunately, he was not an AAA towing company, but said he would only charge me $75. I attempted to call the owner and explain what was going on and he wouldn t listen. He was rude and completely ignored the driver trying to charge me in addition to charging AAA, and would not listen to me when telling him what happened. I was told that the driver was unable to tow because he didn't have sufficient room? Apparently he is only able to tow vehicles in ideal circumstances and conditions? I have contacted AAA about the entire experience. Do yourself a favor and call someone else.

The rear wheel bearing on my vehicle went out when we were on our way back from Ohio. We found this place using Google. I was impressed with all the good reviews. I called the next morning to see if they could get me in. They were able to tow my vehicle that morning and I got am estimate that afternoon. They did find and fix other issues but they also kept me posted . It was done in 2 days which saved me 3 days of a rental car. Very happy with the service. If you're in the New Castle area and need work on your vehicle, I recommend that you call Shaffer's on Taylor Street.

My brand new Hyundai blew a tire pulling into a store parking lot and I didn't have a spare. I was quite upset that I needed a tow on a car I had owned for 2 whole days. The gentleman that showed up took great care and time to ensure my car didn't bottom out and get scratched coming onto the bed of the truck. I am positive I was the most time consuming and probably most annoying call of the night(10pm), but despite all of that this man was calm, professional, and polite. I can not say enough positive things about this experience, and I am so thankful he happened to be the one responding to my call. Excellent service and zero complaints!

I blew the engine in my car, and Shaffer's is putting in one. So far, they've been wonderful. I'll let you know how they do later.

I had to have a vehicle removed and the dispatcher amanda could not come and get it and asked me to measure how many feet it was off the road. How about you just send a person to measure before you pull in

Another towing company failed to show after we waited for over 2 hours. Finally our roadside assistance called Shaffers.They were fast, courteous and friendly.Will request my insurance company send them next time. A+!

Called requesting cost of trasmission replacement. They quoted a great price over the phone and were very flexible about scheduling. After dropping the car off on a Tuesday they called Thursday morning to say it was ready. Car runs great!! Very happy with price, service, flexibility, reliability and speed of service. Would reccomend Shaffer highly and will be my first choice next time I need sevice!

Great exhaust work there. I first brought my 2008 forester and got a new muffler for it. 60 bucks and an hour or so after I dropped off my car it was done and sounded sweet. I also recently brought in my 2014 Mazda 3 and got a Borla axle-back system installed. Right before I dropped it off, I asked if they could throw a glasspack muffler in place of the stock resonator, it was no problem to them and I still paid the amount they originally estimated the work at. Great place for exhaust work wether custom or repair oriented and great pricing for it. P.S. if you like your exhaust tips like I do, their positioning is impeccable. Needed brakes done and im from out of town. These guys were recommended. After a few hiccups, due to my own fault, work was done in a timely manner and at a very reasonable price. The guys were helpful and it is appreciated.

When my vehicle was picked up for a flat tire it was in perfect condition. By the time it arrived at the garage the driver's door was bent, wouldn't shut right and had a broken clip and bent hinge. Upon calling the towering company they denied any responsibility but had me bring it right in to fix it. Still isn't right but it closes. The next day the actual driver called me and was very nasty. Definitely won't ever deal with them again.

Update: Used their service again via GIECO and had a great experience. Excellent customer service.OLD: They were called via GIECO for a roadside assistance claim for a flat tire. They didn't come prepared with a jack, so they had to use my tiny little scissor jack. The only tools he had was an impact wrench, pillow, and a mallet. The guy ended up crossthreading one of my lug nuts and now my spare (which isn't the right size for my truck) is stuck on my vehicle.

Worst experience with a tow company ever! Upon showing up the driver couldn't back up the flat bed. Missed the driveway completely and went into the yard. Instead of stopping, he just pushed through leaving huge ruts in the yard. After finally managing to get near our truck, the driver doesn't say a word to us. Not I am so and so or asking for keys. He goes over to our truck opens up the front then back door. We were quite perplexed as neither was needed for the tow. He starts throwing things around from the back seat. We were even more confused at this point, then he puts the seat all the way back. Again, for what purpose? Our vehicle did not run as we explained to who called prior to arriving. He climbs in and sits in the drivers seat barely avoiding the back door and front door from slamming into each other. He then yells very rudely "does this window go down?" Which we said yes but why in the world did he need to put the window down? Then he tries to start it twice, which once he clearly could tell what the problem was. But he never spoke to us except the totally rude response about the windows. He did not need to be throwing our things around the truck, putting the seat back, putting the window down and for sure trying to start it. What if parts were taken off to prepare for it going into the shop? It was being towed to be fixed with a local shop we trust. He could have done more damage. I said "Do you not believe us it doesnt start?". At that point, upset by his whole attitude, I said to my husband "First he tore up our yard, now is trying to start the truck, I am going in the house. " The guy says to my husband "Do you want me to tow it or not?" My husband says " Yes I just don't want the yard destroyed or my truck rifled through." None of this yelling or screaming. Just normal tones, but The guy walks away, gets in his truck and leaves, never towing it. We call the shop and get told that the guy is just really grumpy sometimes. Then told to tell the insurance company WE denied the tow when we re set it up. We never denied the tow. The guy just took off. So we call the Insurance company back to find out the Shaffer's is denying coming back. Why? The owner states, his driver ,The rude guy that caused huge ruts, wouldn't even speak to us when he arrived, started throwing our stuff around the truck, moved the seat back, near missed slamming our truck doors together, climbed in our truck, put down the window and started it twice without even talking to us about the problem or the tow, said we yelled at him. So owner won't send him back out. Now we got told by the first person we spoke with after the driver took off and the owner, that they will be fixing the ruts. That will be left to be seen, but if this behavior is acceptable and we being left to call another tow company, we will never be using them again.

Great experience. They had a new battery installed practically before I was able to pay for it. They were helpful and friendly. We will definitely be going there for our auto needs.

Had my 2012 dodge grand caravan towed there due to a flat and needing brakes but lugs where frozen. They fixed all 20 lugs and did brakes for what i Feel was a very reasonable price and in a great timely manner.

If i have any problems with my vehicle i always go to shaffers first. They are nice, quick, and very professional. They dont pull any scams trying to get more money out of you like most of the shops around new castle. I now moved away from new castle and still make the trip to the shaffers shop first before the shops near me. Definitely recommended.

Put the wrong size hubs on my car, never fixed my exhaust but I got charged for it. Cost me a ton of money, they are theives. Do not go there.
