Beautiful place to stay. John and Stacy are amazing host. We stayed in a cabin and it was beautiful and furnished with any and everything you might possibly need. Everything was spotless and well maintained. The landscaping and scenery was to die for. It's family and pet friendly. I can't think of anything that could have made our experience any better.

Beautiful, clean, and friendly. We have stayed here several times over the years. It continues to improve! So nice to camp in the woods and it is still easy to maneuver large rigs throughout. Sites are huge and individually maintained, even the fire pits are clean and tidy. We arrived Wednesday before a holiday weekend. We watched as everything was cleaned up and made ready for all of the incoming guests. And the young people doing the work were so friendly! Laundry facilities are beautiful!

Absolutely love this campground. We've stayed two times so far, and plan on going at least once a year. This is one of the few campgrounds left that is still family run. It's so important for a camping experience, for me, having a family run campground that you can tell is truly cared about. It's not like one of the main stream campgrounds that has sold out and is just looking for the big money. They make you feel like you're truly welcomed there, while simultaneously running EVERY activity and maintaning the campground on their own, as a family. I admire the family for how much they truly care and how effortlessly they show it. Thank you for making this campground what it is. See you next year!

Front desk staff were not friendly at all. Most of campground is seasonal sites so they were most accommodating to them. There were barking dogs tied up around us. Loud music coming from the campsite which was 3 sites up from us and still way too loud but they did nothing about it. I guess because the people were seasonal campers. We never saw a campsite with so many pitbulls tied outside. It made you leery of taking a walk around the campsite. We will not return.

Nice, clean, campground. Has a General Store, outdoor swimming pool, locker room style indoor bathroom/showers, camp sites for tents, campers, and cabins, and wifi. Porta pottys, throughout the property, fresh drinking water at each site, camper/trailer sites have electric and water. There are a few hiking trails totalling a little over a mile. Very close to Ricketts Glenn State Park, which has awesome waterfalls. Down side to campground is there is no natural water source, lake, river, or stream. Book sites early.

We stayed this past weekend at Pioneer Campground at a tent site to hike Ricketts Glen. Great wooded sites with decent space. The store had items we had forgotten. The main restrooms were clean, but not super close to our tent side. The ground had a ton of large rocks, so I do recommend a sleeping pad. They also did a bunch of Halloween activities that were very well thought out and fun. Highly recommend!

This was my family's favorite camping trip. We camp every year and have been to many privately owned and state park campgrounds but this took top place for us. The owners are friendly and very accommodating. Our original sites had been flooded from heavy rain and without question they put us on different sites. The campground is clean and beautiful and very family friendly. The seasonal campers were also very friendly. The store is fully stocked and the bathrooms are clean with hot showers. The laundromat was also clean and very convient. The owners had great recommendations for local sites to explore too. Our family definitely plans to return.

The campground is beautiful with lots of shade. The pool is lovely and very clean. The cabin was spacious and clean. The beds were more comfortable than other cabins we had stayed in at other campgrounds. One major problem for us is that there is only one set of bathrooms and it was no where near the cabins we were in. A dirty port-a-john is not acceptable as a substitute as it was filled with all sorts of critters and no toilet paper. This campground is more suited for RVs that have their own toilets and showers. We won't be back to stay unless a bathroom is added by the cabins or we have an RV of our own.

We have been camping at Pioneer for a few years now. Original booked on Labor weekend the year we got our camper. John and Stacey made us feel right at home. The facilities are always clean. Everyone is so friendly, the campground is very family friendly. Most all of the sites are wooded.

We stayed at pioneer campground this past weekend. It was a nice campground. The weather was terrible but people seemed to make the best of it there. Their Memorial Day events still happened and seemed well attended. The pool looked great, though it was too cold and rainy to open. The nature trail was a nice walk through the woods. The area is beautiful and we will be back to check out Ricketts Glen and more of the state forest. We went to World s End State park for a few rainy hikes and to Eagles Mere Conservancy this trip.

We had a wonderful time at this campground and would recommend it highly to those looking for that perfect place to spend a little quality time with family. Plenty to do for both kids and adults. Very clean and well kept. The showers had nice HOT water and the pool was popular amongst the kids. The owners were friendly and helped us out when our travel trailer needed an unexpected repair. We can't say "thank you" enough for this, especially! We hope to return for another visit soon!! Thanks again!!!

My husband and I had the best time camping here- so good we added another night to our stay! Hosts John and Stacy make you feel right at home and were super knowledgeable about all the cool tourist sights in the area. They spaced out us and the other campers so we had plenty of space to ourselves. They offered some fun activities (wagon wine tasting!) and it is very pet friendly. The campground is super clean and well maintained. We can't wait to go back!

Cannot explain how wonderful the owners and staff are at this beautiful campground. The sites are beautifully worded. They have all the amenities. They keep the place immaculate. The Spotless pool was our evening relaxation after hours of hiking at nearby Ricketts Glen. They have a small store, laundry, Game Room, dog park, dog walk some nice trails. They have firewood sodas and Ice very conveniently located. will be returning to this Campground is often as we can from Florida.

Found our way to this campground on our 2021 trip around the country. All things considered, I like this one. Some things to consider when coming to Pioneer campground, the road coming to the campground is a winding PA hills road with speed limits ranging from 30-55. People behind you can wait, drive safe. When you make the trunk onto Pioneer drive tou will eventually start to see campsites but keep driving it opens up closer to the office. Sitting at our site, I can see other campsites but all separated by woodland.Initial parking noticed some low limbs, immediately taken care of. With the amount of rain that had been in the area there was some standing water and muddy parts of the campground, dirt and gravel placed the next morning to avoid destroying the site.Again all things considered this campground is one of the better ones for space and privacy among the customers. We will definitely be back when we are in the area.Thank you.

Very clean and well kept. You can tell the family takes pride in their campground. Very laid back with few rules unlike other campgrounds. Help yourself to wood and ice, pay the next day at your convenience. Pool & activities here. 35 minutes to Ricketts Glen & not too far from World's End State Park. Knoebels is just over an hour south. Highly recommended and will visit again.

Beautiful, quiet, and clean campground. The nicest campground i've ever been to. The owners take great pride in this campground and it's evident everywhere you look and in all the interactions with them and their staff. We will definitely be going back often!

We love this place. We have a little 7 yr old foster girl who wants to go every weekend to swim in the heated pool, play in the playground and ride in the wagon. The sites are wooded and the guests are polite and quiet. The staff and owners are great and hard working. Just an awesome place to get away.

This was by far one of the best campgrounds I've stayed at. They accommodated my reservation request last minute, which was appreciated. I showed up late at night and just as they had promised, there was a packet on the office door with easy check in instructions. I was just camping with a tent, and the campsites are very spacious, so you aren't up against someo one else's site. It's also very woodsy so it feels like you're actually in the middle of a forest while camping! It helped that we happened to be the only ones tent camping, so we had a good pick of the sites, but they all looked really good. We went from here to Worlds End to hike, and it was super close, which was nice. The staff was very friendly, the showers were great, and tho we didn't use the pool, it looked very nice. I also highly recommend hanging out at D&D Brew Works for some drinks. Quite the good time!

This campground gets 5+ stars from us (and we have camped at a lot of different campgrounds across the country)!! The property is so well maintained with a playground, dog park, activity center, pool, and camp store. They have done an excellent job keeping things clean during covid and I would say it was one of the cleanest bathrooms I ve seen at a campground. The campground caretakers are SO nice and all of the other campers walk around saying hello to everyone. Great vibes all around! I would recommend the remote tent sites if you re camping with a dog - they re more spread out and there is less for your dog to bark at. We would highly recommend this campground!

Nice people to deal with. Nice pool. If you like camping in a state park but want hook ups and less rules this is the place. They had nice activities like hay rides and an ice cream social. Didn't use the showers but the couple we camped with said they were very clean. I would say if your kids are older (ours were 2&3) there is not much to keep older kids busy. We will stay here again..

This campground is one of the best we've visited. It is close to tons of great hikes. The campsites still have trees which is apparently a rarity while camping... Anyway has a great pool and the view of the sky at night is divine. The honey wagon service was a huge plus as well.
