Most of the guys on the floor are kind and helpful in pointing you in the right direction of what your looking for and you are close by which is why you got 2 stars.You lost 3 for the following- I was looking for buckets with lids and a gentlemen pointed me in the right direction. I was not paying that close attention to prices. There was a 4.5 foot stack of 5 gallon buckets on the floor in front of the shelf full of buckets and trash cans. The price under the stack of lids on the shelf said $4.98 or something. I grabbed 2 buckets off the floor and 2 matching lids.I got to check out placed the buckets on the counter. The woman who was ringing me up was short with me, no smile, no how are you, nothing. After I noticed she rang up the buckets and lids separately ($10 for each bucket and $5 for each lid) I decided I didn't want to pay $30 for 2 plastic buckets. I kindly let her know I changed my mind and she acted like I kicked her cat. She rang up my last item adhesive spray (11.68 7oz at JB's - $13.28 for 14oz at Home depot) and I said I would like to purchase that alone. I put the buckets back where they went and as I walked out of the store she did say thank you for doing that, but too little too late. I read a lot of reviews and this seems on par.Im going to home Depot where I probably won't get great customer service but at least I won't be paying too much too. It's only 20 minutes away.TL;DRRude lady at check out.Prices are double what you pay at Home Depot.

The checkout lady was rude and was sitting down to check people out. Not a great look for customer service. My biggest problem was the cats. Why put cats in a store. People have allergies and get very sick from them. I about passed out cuz I couldn't breathe till I got out if there.

Very Friendly, Clean & Cool!! & Found everything I was looking for!! Thanks for a Great Hardware Store!! Update: Still my happy place!! With all my endless projects, this is the Place to Be!! Thanks to Zack, who recently cut a clean piece of plexiglass just right!! Thanks to all you guys & gals who assist your shoppers above & beyond!!!!

JB Hostetter & Sons hosted our Car Wash & Food Sale fundraiser for the Donegal High School Softball team. They were incredible to work with, they provided all the necessary items to ensure we had a successful event. Hostetters went above and beyond by setting up the car wash area as well as the food prep area before we even arrived. Grill, table, chairs, pop-up tents, Hose & buckets and cones to direct traffic were all there waiting for our arrival. They came out to check on us periodically throughout the day to be sure we didn't' need anything and many employees even bought lunch from us. JB Hostetter & Sons is all about helping their community, that alone is enough to earn my business. I haven't even mentioned the fact that they carry everything you expect from a hardware store and more. The garden center is fabulous and well stocked with seasonal plants. Always a great experience! Thanks Hostetters!!

Ordered item online. Order was ready in less than 10 minutes. Was in and out of the store in under 5 minutes. Nice upgrade for Hostetter Hardware.

The quality of this store is no longer what it once was. The staff was extremely unfriendly and uncooperative when asking about simple house repairs and would rather argue with me about how my house was built, rather than pointing out the specific parts I was asking for. That and their prices are marked up so much, you're better off taking a drive to one of their competitors. I'm only giving 2 stars because of the actual friendly staff in the greenhouses and up in front of the store.

I ve noticed a change in the staff s attitude with the new ownership. I went to buy paint and there were 4 men standing behind the counter, but I must have been invisible because no one asked me what I needed. I finally got service and my paint but I ll be purchasing my hardware items somewhere else from now on.

If anyone is worried about hosetters being under new owners...don't. Have dealt with them for over 30 years and the experience of an unplanned freezer purchase was one of the best experiences ever. Beyond nice and helpful and we all know how hard that is to find. Thanks to Nick, Lucian, and Susan and delivery team. A+++

Everything the big box stores have and comparable prices but closer to home. I could barely walk 20 feet without someone asking to help me... Compared to the other stores where it's a miracle if you can get anyone to help you. I won't shop any where else!

I was purchasing some painting supplies and during the process of trying to look up my loyalty account the system froze. As opposed to ringing up my order on the second cash register the clerk chose to wait on a line of five people that were behind me. Yes other people had to wait while the system was froze however so did I. I chose not to wait and left the product sitting on the counter. I will not go back there again.

My washer took a poop today, came here to check out what was available. The selection was good but I am on my way to Lowes to get the same washer for $200 less.I do appreciate shopping local family owned and get many products from this business. Unfortunately I could not give you my business today.

I rented a carpet cleaner from JB Hostetter's rental department and used it to clean the interior of my car. It worked very well and working with the rental team was great! I was able to get the equipment quickly and the process was very simple.

I've been going here several times a week for the past 20 years and I am always impressed every time I go. The staff is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The store is always clean, neatly and we'll stocked. Of the roughly 3000 trips I've made to this store I don't believe I have ever not been asked if I needed help finding anything. They are slightly more on the high end interms of pricing. You get what you pay for however and boy let me tell you what, the customer service here is beyond any I've ever experienced. I'd give them 5 stars in a heartbeat.

Great hardware store. I wish I could give them 4.5 star rather than 4. I must say that the customer service here is top notch. Very knowledge friendly and eager to help you find what you need. Pricing is fair and comparable to box stores. The only complaint that I would have That makes them 4.5 star is, I would like to see them stay open later Monday through Friday to make up for being closed on Sunday due to the fact, the next closest store is 30-45 minutes away. Ultimately I will shop here first before going to box store.

More than a few of the people working here could stand to gain from learning some customer service skills. "I don't work for you" is not the way you deal with a customer. I'd love to see what happens if this guy speaks to everyone like that. Wonder who he works for if not the customers that pay to keep your business open? A simple "I'm sorry for your inconvenience let me do what I can to help you" isn't too much to say at an irate customer. You can't take people's anger personally.

Great store for your around home needs and much more. Cell phone chargers, flashlights, coolers, small lawnmowers, washers n dryers, you name it! The workers here are friendly and do there best to help you find what you need!

We have rented several things from Hostetter's Rental Center. We always received excellent service from Hostetters. If we need to rent anything else in the future, we definitely will go through JB Hostetters. Thank you for your help!

The best part about shopping at this place is that you can always find a helpful person to help you locate what you're looking for. No hours spent wandering and wandering through a store wondering if they even carry the item you need. Through my many visits here, someone always offers help before I ever need to ask for it. And I believe that is a fantastic resource that the larger chain hardware stores severely lack. They may not have a lot of everything, but they do have a little bit of most things. From lawn and garden to hardware to appliances to little knickknacks and everything in between you can almost always find what you need here.

A great hardware store with that small town feel and touch. No matter what project you have planned big or small JB Hostetter & Sons has your back. I almost never have a problem finding what I need or getting the assistance to look for it. It is nice to have a place to go where they do not judge your ability before they give you a pat answer assuming that you have no clue. The ability to just listen to a customer is a rare and cherished trait that is missing in most places today.

Always great service; extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. Support a local business and find the parts or items you need that some other big box stores say "don't exist" because they don't carry it. They offer chain/blade sharpening, small motor repair and maintenance, rental power equipment, rental chairs tables etc. Again, extremely helpful employees and a wonderful locally owned hardware store.

Lots of merchandise for home and garden. Friendly and helpful staff. Hardware, paint, home decor, holiday decor, large garden center, major appliances, lawn mowers, service and repairs of appliances and mowers are offered. Would highly recommend.

This is a very nice place to get the average hardware. The reason I gave it four stars is because of the unfriendly hours. There is no grabbing things in the way home from work with its closing late afternoon. The customer service is amazing and extremely knowledgeable. Good job guys!

I have been purchasing all of my appliances from them since 1987. Today I went to purchase a dryer and had the worse experience from the salesman. I just had back surgery but my dryer quit so I needed a new one. Told the salesman this. Thinking he would make the transition go a little quicker for me. Was going to put it on credit card I had through them, to find out they don t deal with them anymore. They only go through Wells Fargo. I was going to put it on one of my other credit cards but the salesman said would only take a moment. We ll half an hour later still working on it. This was such a bad experience over all for me. Like I said I purchased every appliance from them since 1987. The buck stops here. No more. I will take my business elsewhere. After this time it s not worth it.

Great place to shop, outstanding service and just all around good people. Had an item that didn't work properly and had a no hassle return and replacement even with a lost receipt. Entire transaction took less than 10 minutes.

Stopped in looking for a Toro. I met ed billman He was absolutely super helpful And can't wait to see if he can find me my Toro. The customer service was excellent wrote down my information and can't wait to hear from him. But overall it's a great hardware store

Better than a big box store, knowledgeable staff, excellent parts and delivery services. Well stocked plumbing and electrical along with paint and in every department. Fair pricing, sometimes better than big box stores plus better quality products. Keep up the great work
