Have been undercoating my own truck for 6 years, researched the hell out of what products are out there; and what kind of application works best for majority of steel components. But for DIY'ers.. you can only get so far in terms of complete undercarriage coverage. These guys are EXACTLY what any mechanic, auto body shop, or engineer would recommend for what undercoating is supposed to look like.Don't waste your time with any kind of undercoating that claims it can create a "barrier" between metal and the elements (Ziebart, Line-X Product, 3M, etc).. if there is a barrier... the barrier can usually crack.. or water can simply just get behind it.Greg and his crew are total class, know the products they support; and handle their clients with highest level of service. I am as straight as they come when it comes to reviews, and have been looking for a quality place in the Burgh for years because most of them don't know their stuff. THEY DO!Also the low reviews are probably just outliers from people who are commenting on things completely unrelated to actually getting their vehicle serviced for an undercoating... so take them as a grain of salt

They steamed my vehicle and gave it a level 4 fluid undercoat. It looks nice . I will update once I know how well it protects against rust. Here how it looks right now

Was able to get my 4Runner coated they did great recommend scale + 3 but I did 3 black came out great definitely recommend

So I had my 2024 Silverado 2500hd LT, rust proofed December 10th, l4, so far so good. About 3 weeks ago I noticed a kinda rattle in the rear of the truck. Took it to the dealership, they thought it was the bushings on the leaf springs, they took in for repair yesterday, and said the fluid film was allowing dust and debris to collect on the bushings and leaf springs causing the rattle. Can anyone confirm or deny that this is possible. They stated there is no mechanical problem, just an annoying rattle.So I guess this probably wasn't exactly a review. But Steel City did an excellent job, I have no complaints. I was just curious if anyone else had the same issue as I did, and if so what could I do to get the noise to go away? Just seemed like a good avenue to find others who may have experienced the same problem.

Great customer service here and they did a wonderful job with the undercoat. Looks great and I am confident it will protect under my truck. I highly recommend this place.

Transparent and knowledgeable! Great quality work on this old Ford Ranger, which I know wasn t an easy task! Blew all the chunks of rust chips and dirt out! They were willing to work with my requests, prices match work quality!

I only have good things to say about the people at steel city undercoating! I had my initial undercoat done last year and unfortunately it rained the whole week afterwards. Without hesitation the team was able to get me back in the next weekend and do a touch up to make sure everything was still protected. Then this time around (2nd appointment) I was the last appointment of the day and was running late due to traffic and they still were able to get me in even 20 mins after my appointment!! Great people with a great product who do great work so I will keep coming back every year

I watched a YouTube video of this place, and how they do the Fluid Film undercoating. It looks like they do a great job, and they have multiple packages to fit anyone's needs. I'd rather see people spend their money at a small shop like this rather than spend it at a big box franchise that couldn't care less about you and doing a good job.

Can t recommend these guys enough, my whole experience unfortunately had to be contactless due to my working hours and the process was beyond smooth, any questions were answered with understanding swiftness and all was laid out extremely simplified, if you ve been looking around multiple companies to undercoat your vehicle, I promise you you do not have to look anymore, these people are the best!

This place is amazing! Had both vehicles done last year and it s re-coat time. Mine got the black done yesterday since it s over 11 years old & had some rusty areas Wife s is getting done now as I sit in the waiting area.

I saw a sales ad and inquired about it but wasn't able to get in before the sale ended. Steel City worked with my schedule and honored the sales price as well. The treatment on my truck looks great. Be prepared for a smell that lasts about 5 days though. My father always had his old truck coated in straight used oil and never had an issue with rust so I'm expecting great results from this treatment.

Greg and his team were amazing I will be taking the rest of my vehicles down to Greg to have them all done. It's hard to find a reliable and honest place that does undercoating...Greg was very professional he explained what he was doing and where he had sprayed the undercoating. I was out in about 60 min with my appointment.. Greg was gentle with the vehicle and was sure to cover the seats and the car itself to keep the overspray off the paint. I recommend Greg and his team at Pittsburgh fluid film for all of your undercoating needs.

Very pleased with the Fluid Film treatment I had performed on my new 4Runner! Prior to booking they answered all of my questions and were great to deal with! They were careful with my vehicle and I ve booked an appointment for my Wife s new Jeep! Highly recommended!!

Efficient and effective oil-based undercoating to protect your vehicle from the damage caused by road chemicals during inclement weather. I've used this to protect my older vehicle when I moved to PA in 2020 and they told me today that the under side of my truck is in great shape.

Exacting quality and considerate service. I stopped in for their highest package, as I have a car I'm hoping to have last a very long time. It's an investment, so here's to hoping! Even so, the price is competitive, and the quality of the work is well recommended by most sources.My experience was also just as positive. I scheduled for a morning drop-off, but sudden changes in my schedule had me reschedule for a Wait-Inside appointment for the same time. They were able to make it happen with just a phone call. I know that's going to come down to individual opportunity, but it's worth knowing that they do understand what they're asking for in their scheduling, and what it takes their customers to get such service.Even moreso, and I'm happier saying this now than before. I attempted to do this once before, when I worked for an employer where I was on the road pretty much every day over the course of eleven hours. I had to take a PTO day to try and schedule, but we had to reschedule due to inclement weather, and potential washing off the undercoat.It was in my interest that they did so, and I really appreciate it. Even if it meant I couldn't do it until I changed jobs.So, all in all, they definitely will look after you, and after looking underneath my car myself? It is some really quality work. They might as well have wiped down my entire under carriage. I ran my fingers along some of the non-metal spots just to gauge how much dirt I could cake off, and it was effectively clean.If I was going to complain, the only thing I could do is say that the smell of the Level 4 Product that was applied to my car wasn't entirely pleasant. But, it fades, just more slowly than you might think. After about two weeks and a half, the smell is effectively gone. So, no harm done. And tha'ts the worst I can say!For general advice. Anyone doing what I did, and having your car detailed for longevity's sake, my advice for an order of operations would be: Exterior Detail > Steel City Oil Undercoating > Interior Detail. Best of all worlds, fresh smell. (Unless they'd advise differently in your case.)So, a long way to say top marks to these guys. Looking forward to yearly reapplications.

Good service but if you travel any distance, there's nothing within walking distance & their waiting room is small. Worth the wait however. Friendly place.

Friendly and helpful staff. They are happy to answer questions with in-depth explanations. They also have a broad knowledge of where particular vehicles tend to rust compared to others. I have my truck treated here once a year and have only had good experiences.

They ve undercoated two trucks so far. Work is impressive, good communication, and very professional. I will be having my fleet undercoated there. Highly recommend them to keep your vehicles lifespan longer in the rust belt.

Fair price for a good service. I've had my 2019 Silverado undercoated twice with this company. That's the only downside to fluid film is it needs reapplied depending on how much you drive. Definitely better than the typical rubber base undercoating though. It'll never dry out and hold moisture.

I would highly recommend this business without any reservation whatsoever. I brought the wife's new white 2022 4Runner for their signature undercoating service and was extremely impressed with the product and the people here. Patient and honest explanations of the process and projected outcomes, thoroughness to detail and obvious care that was taken with her "baby". It's a dirty job and they do it very well. It's a long trip from where we live but I feel it was definitely worth it. Will be back annually for re-coatings.

Pretty disappointing.Recently bought a brand new truck so obviously I want it rustproofed right off the bat. I opted for the "level 4" option. $642. They claim to basically spray inside all the nooks and crannies that rust like to start at without you realizing it.1.) I noticed that there were several spots behind the skid plate and behind the catalytic converter shield that they didn't even bother with.2.) I have found 2 wheel well fasteners (bolts) that they didn't bother replacing and/or lost? Not sure.3.) When I picked up the truck, the climate controls had been tampered with (ie fan ALL the way up, heat ALL the way up). Somebody turned on both heated seats. The radio had been tampered with. The switch for the rear bed lights had been tampered with.It's as if like they let a 4 year old child sit in the driver's seat and start touching buttons randomly. These are just the things that I have noticed so far. There's probably more.These are not major problems, no, but it's also not nitpicking for me to be bothered by this. I expected more professionalism, considering this company's google reviews, their website, advertising and the for the $642 price tag of the service. Their business is full of amazing reviews, which is why this is not only a disappointment but a shock to me. Obviously, most people like the service at this place, maybe I just slipped through the cracks? Maybe someone was having a bad day? I don't know.Definitely will not be returning though.Edit: In response to owners response, this is exactly the response from them I was anticipating. They know that I'm from out of town and am not returning. The buttons and controls that were tampered with cannot be "pushed by accident". It's clear somebody was bored and messing around. "oops, changed the radio station", on a digital touchscreen radio? Not buying it.Yes, there are absolutely 2 fasteners for the wheel wells missing. They didn't just fall out, fellas. It's a brand new truck. Little things like this add up, which is why I posted the review to begin with. Yes, I agree, this situation is very unfortunate and unexpected.ps, Oh and don't worry, the spots that you missed on the undercarriage, I went ahead and sprayed those myself with fluid film. This place is highly recommended for rust protective needs.My only complaint is that after watching all their amazingly informative YouTube videos, I had nightmares about other certain chain owned traditional undercoating services. Honestly terrifying stuff, and can't fathom why people go to those other places.My personal experience with this place was great, making me really question the few negative reviews I read.I texted after hours due to my work schedule and did not expect a reply, but got an immediate response with the suggested level for my situation. Seemed upfront and honest with their recommendation which was greatly appreciated.I had a conflict with the initial appointment i booked and they were very accommodating in working with me for a time that fit. EXCELLENT customer service prior to and during my appointment Always professional and wanted to help me out to get in to see them and were informative and polite in person.It's obvious they aim for top quality and seem to go out of their way to keep it up since they care about their reputation. Makes me glad to support a local business while getting my car the protection it needs.

I took my 2010 Silverado in for the back to black service. I couldn t be happier with the way it turned out! Truck looks as good as it did when I first bought it. I will definitely return for the yearly touch up recommended! 10/10 service! Don t wait until your vehicle is rusted away.
