Very trustworthy and thorough business. I have had many flats that have been repaired -once when I pulled up around closing time. Sometimes they get very busy and I may need to wait to bring my car in, but it is always worth it! I feel safe and secure with their work. Normally, I m not one to write reviews. However, I took my car to Hess after previously having got it inspected there when my car started to have problems. I found that my car would turn on (AC/radio) but wouldn t turn the engine over. Luckily, I got it to start and over to Hess where I dropped it off to get it fixed. A couple days after dropping my car off and hearing nothing, I called. After making the first effort to reach out I was told they would run a charge test on my car to test it but claimed they were extremely busy so it may be a while. About a week or two after that phone call, I was called again. Now, id like to preface that, a female college student, I know nothing about cars. I was quoted by Hess for an alternator, after telling me that the alternator was the problem. With their services plus the alternator my total came close to 700$. My alternator was then replaced and my car was returned to me. Not even a full week after being returned, my car started to do the EXACT. SAME. THING. After calling Hess, the person who answered the phone was rude and told me they could only fix my car on the 26th, which at the time was two weeks away. They also did not offer an apology or any type of refund for the 700$ part they mistook. After asking my friend who works on cars, he not only told me that the problem was my starter, but that I was extremely ripped off by Hess for my alternator, claiming it should only have been 300 Max. Im extremely frustrated with Hess and feel taken advantage of. I personally would not recommend going here for any inconvenience with your car, no matter how small.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Vehicle Inspection, Battery

I had never used Hess's before, but was looking at buying a car in the Millersville area and wanted a mechanic to look at it before I bought it. The Google reviews were good so I thought I'd give them a shot. Nick was extremely professional and courteous. He had one of his technicians look my vehicle over and then gave me a rundown of their findings. I was very impressed and wouldn't hesitate to come back here!

TLDR: Based on my experience here as well as the separate experience of my close friend, I feel confident in highly recommending Hess Auto Care. Nick is skilled, patient, and understanding.Full review: After my close friend had a great experience getting extensive work done on their vehicle by Nick here at Hess Auto Care, I thought I would give this place a try as well to get my inspection done.Well, I was shocked at how high the estimate for repairs was; nearly a thousand dollars!! I wanted to get a second opinion, and Nick was understanding of this and gave us the time to look into that.The family of my other very close friend has for years relied on and recommended J&C Auto, out on the east side of Lancaster, so I went over there for a quick second opinion (and if J&C is closer to you, I certainly highly recommend them as well). Turns out Nick's diagnosis was actually spot on, and J&C's estimate for cost was even a tiny bit higher.Needless to say I brought my car back to Hess Auto, and Nick got the work done, and even in a little less time than expected. The car seems to be running just fine, so no complaints there at all.In short, while I can only speak from these two experiences (my own as well as that of my close friend), both of these experiences were nothing but positive. Throughout the couple weeks it took to get all the stuff with my own car sorted out, Nick was always patient, respectful, and courteous. And the work Nick did on both my own vehicle as well as my friend's seems so far to be very well done. As already stated, I feel confident in highly recommending Hess Auto Care.

Because of the receptionist's inability to relay the basic details of my appointment to the mechanic, the mechanic was not aware of what work was to be done and the parts needed for the repair of my car were never ordered. This unnecessarily delayed the repair of my car and I chose to collect it rather than miss another day of work. When I scheduled my appointment 2 weeks ago I was assured my car would be finished by the end of the day. When I arrived to collect my car I was not offered an apology, and they left it in their parking lot in neutral without the emergency brake engaged! This was a huge inconvenience and I won't be back.Service: Auto A/C replacement

Been here a few times, the most recent was rolling into their lot with a tire that suddenly started leaking air on my way to work. I didn't have an appointment, and they were very busy, but they still managed to make the space to get my tire patched quickly and back on the road. Definitely worth going here over a chain shop any day of the week.

My wife and I have gone to Hess Auto for many years now and have had nothing but positive experiences. Always on time and try to get us in for service as quickly as possible. Very professional shop with excellent management and customer service. We thankful to have an auto shop like this in Millersville. Had my car towed here as I am new to the area and they were recommended. They kept my car for a week, never called and were unable to fix the problem. I had my vehicle towed to the dealership who discovered a blown fuse. So 35 dollars for a simple fix or $250 for nothing maybe two . They were nice.

I took my car here to replace a fuel line, and the crew here was so helpful. They got my car in quickly, fixed it when I needed it done, and treated my car great. Had some CEL codes after the job, took it right back in, they double checked their work and made it right. Highly reccomend trusting your vehicle to these professionals.

Way overly priced. Was quoted 1200 for a new compressor, $600 of it was for labor. Called my mechanic from home, quoted $300 with $150 labor. Was charged $90 to check the pressure of the compressor, which they already did at valvoline for free. Will be taking my car elsewhere.Service: Air conditioningService: Air conditioning

Had front and rear tires replaced on my motorcycle for over 300 bucks for labor only. I furnished the tires. Personally I think that's way way to much considering a Harley dealership would have been much cheeper for a 2 hour job as I found out too late . Never again for anything !

They did an awesome job looking into are problem and not just throwing a part in so they could make money. Even kept it an extra day because they didn't find anything the first day and wanted to check again. Will definitely go back. Thank you. Customer service is awesome and that's hard to find!!!!

Needed a new tire. They were very nice to work with and completed the work today even though i only went in this morning. They already had a busy day but worked my car into the schedule.

Paid upwards of $2,500 for them to just throw a sticker on the windshield and they didn't actually fix anything The cars that I gave them still barely runs they put many parts they said into it and yet it still has the same issues I brought up to them the day I dropped it off
