Buttonwood is our favorite campground by far. We ve made this place a family tradition each year and tell all of our friends and neighbors to check it out. We live 4 hours away but it s well worth it. The staff is so friendly and accommodating, prettiest landscaping and so many activities for the kids and whole family. Here I go telling on my self but I saw a few reviews saying they was no enforcement of the noise. I m here to tell you there is, and I appreciate it. We were one of those rowdy campers with loud music and drunk people dancing (myself included) one night and were told to quite down, which was so deserved it. We all got the hint and shut it down. If you have any issues the management will take care of it immediately in a professional way. It s a large campground but very well managed and ran.

What a great place! Great location, camp store, grounds, river, occasional train passing by to see, great pool and the glow party for all the kids and adults to show the lights on thier golf carts was just an all around great campground. The bathrooms were top notch too. Keep up the great work! The Morgans

What an amazing experience we had staying at Buttonwood. We have two children- almost 8 and 10 and an almost one year old golden retriever. It was the perfect place for all of us! So many fun activities- the wet wagon ride, air pillow, pedal cars, pool, and our favorite- floating down the river. We stayed in the cozy cabin. It was the perfect size for all of us. The staff were so sweet and helpful. We couldn t have asked for anything more. Thank you for the lifelong memories!

Overall it was a positive camping experience, but a couple things that could use improvement. If you by chance have noisy neighbors as we did there is no one that will enforce the quiet time, and I'd like to see them have a certain area dedicated to pet campers instead of having them mixed in with campers that would rather not hear them barking at all hours. Most areas were clean and well taken care of and the staff was pretty friendly and helpful.Nearby activities: Activity at the campground was fun.

A well run campground that we look forward to visiting every year. We camp here in July for access to the river and cooling off in the water and tubing. The campground is busy, but they keep it clean and are quick to address issues (unleashed dogs, loud music, etc). Staff are friendly and helpful, sites are a nice size and provide options based on your preferences for sun, shade, or access to kids activities.

This one of my family's favorite campgrounds in Central Pennsylvania. Very friendly staff. Very well maintained property. Highly recommended if you are able to get a site.Nearby activities: Juniata valley commons on the west side of mifflintown is Owned and operated by an awsm local couple. Easy to find. Great local produce.Safety: Very cautious about the safety of the guests and all the kidsWalkability: The campground is rather flat and worth the view to walk around and see the beautiful landscaping.Food & drinks: There is a small shop owned by a local winery on site. Adult slushies.. bottled wine.Noteworthy details: The camp store is staffed by the friendliest ladies in Juniata County. They have everything you need for your camper if you forgot anything. Great place.

This was a fabulous campground. The staff was extremely helpful. The activities were fun and planned really well. The wine slushies were delicious. And the bathrooms, nicer than my bathrooms at home. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained.

This is one of my favorite places to camp! I am 100% a tent girl so I'm always at the tent sites, but I'm sure the cabins and RV sites are good too. The sites are close together so if you like your space this may not be a place for you, but I don't mind it. There are so many things to do here. There's a pool, peddle cars, a bouncy pillow, a river to float down and swim in, many roads to walk on, mini golf and probably some others I'm not quite remembering. There is also a store for things you may need. They are very helpful and they have quick service. Some of the attractions you do need to pay, like the bouncy pillow and a few others, but In my opinion, it's worth it. There are also fire pits at each site. You can buy wood or bring your own.

We've had the same site the last 3 years. It has rained while we were there and water was minimal around our site. This year the rain came down the driveway into a big puddle in front of the site next to us. From there the water filled up our site right at my door that my carpet was floating. We left a day early just to avoid the next storm that was coming.

I've camped up-and-down the East Coast and never had a campground so clean, Hospitable with rich history. The staff were great, the other campers were so nice and willing to help in any situation. I can't believe it took me this long to find this hidden gem which is so close to port Royal Speedway and yes they even shuttle you to the race track! It's nestled right next to the river which you can also tube on, plenty for the kids to do if you have children. they get 5 stars for me! I'll definitely be back

This is our first time visiting Buttonwood. We drove 3 1/2 hours from NJ to visit this campground. I must say it is one of the cleanest places I have visited and the best experience is the staff is amazing and so pleasant to speak with. Everybody there is helpful and has all the patience with all my questions before arrival. My family enjoyed every moment there. Definitely will come back every year and will highly recommended to the rest of my family and friends to this campground.

This is by far our favorite campground. The staff there are so friendly and the campground is absolutely beautiful and very well kept. There is so much to do..... you won't be bored! There is so much for the kids!! This was our first time and we can't wait to go back! Oh..... when you arrive... you follow a staff on a golf cart to your site and they help you get parked. They also pick up your trash throughout the whole day . I highly recommend this campground!!

My wife and I have been coming to this campground for 6 years now and absolutely love it. It s one of cleanest and well maintained campgrounds we have ever stayed at, easily the best campground we have stayed at. As far as some recent negative reviews go, EVERY campground I have ever stayed at always charges an early check-in fee as well as a late check-out fee. It s listed in the regulations for the campground, as it is for Buttonwood. It is not an unreasonable rule, $5 is not much at all to pay. Hardly worth getting upset about. The staff here are fantastic, especially Lacy, Rhonda and the manager Ryan. We will always come back here every year.

Reasonably priced, lovely location, a little close together for my taste, but this is my first Campground experience in a 5th wheel. Clean bathrooms, great amenities! All kinds of fun for the kids, dog parks, seasonal activities. (just don't come to it by 74 with a full size 5th wheel. Very steep, 9% downgrade, on some of the mountains and tight corners! We'll take the long way home, instead.)Would definitely return to this location!

Well run campground. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were constantly being cleaned. The children loved floating down the river. The owner was very cheerful and clearly enjoyed making sure the guests enjoyed their stay!

When I leave a review I like to group it in sections, pros and cons. Some things may not be deal breakers for others so it helps to stay partial. So my list of pros.It is a nice family campground. They keep it really clean and continually add to it.The upper bathroom was one of the nicest we have seen at a campground. The lower bathroom, although not yet updated, was still cleaned daily. The landscaping was really nice. Colorful flowers and greenery all over the grounds. Even the cabins were landscaped. They brought in food trucks and vendors throughout the weekend. This is nice for those who may want a bite to eat and not have to cook or travel to get something.Staff was very friendly. They also escort every camper to their site.Sites were a little small, but they have upgraded electrical boxes and connections. The Wine shack on the property is a bonus. Juniata Valley wines offered wine and wine slushies for a fee.The river tubing was fun and it is nice that they shuttle you to a starting point.Overall it was a nice relaxing stay with plenty to stay busy, but not overwhelmed.Cons:I do not really have any major cons. The tubes for the river tubing were a bit small and not comfortable at all. They are good if you don't own tubes. But you can bring your own, you just have to drive them to the starting point yourself.Overall it is a nice family friendly campground. They do sell out fast, so you do need to book really early or hope for a cancellation.
