Michael is a local treasure for SAAB lovers who has moved here in Mechanicsburg PA from Boise, ID several years ago. Specializing in all SAAB models he has fixed many of my SAABs from 900s and 9-5 Turbos. It's hard to keep him a secret as his workload has increased exponentially in the last few years. Highly recommended.

Michael's is (was) the BEST place in Idaho to have your Saab serviced. I am devastated that he is retiring & I need to find a new Saab master mechanic to service my 3 Saabs. Best wishes in your retirement Michael Lilley.

Michael and his service manager Josh have always been up front and honest with me about what my car needs during service. I get an estimate quickly, and a realistic time frame for the work to be done. Their shop is very popular because they do good work so scheduling can be a challenge, but they always seem to find a way to get my car in sooner than scheduled. I have never had any issues with the work they do on my car and now, when I leave their shop, I know that that issue with my vehicle will not be a problem again. 100% positive experiences with Michael s Auto in Boise. My first service with Michael's Automotive was fantastic! I read the prior reviews beforehand; they certainly are accurate. Michael was incredibly helpful, very affordable, and nice enough to teach me beyond what I expected. My vehicle is a happy vehicle now. I will definitely be returning when I need future mechanic assistance. Thank you Michael!!! You have given me solace in knowing there ARE capable mechanics you can trust. :)!

I ve brought my Subaru to Michael s for service for 14 years. They ve taken excellent care of my car: always straight-forward and clear with explanations about repairs, fair pricing, and professional genial customer service manner. I appreciate their punctuality, as well as updates through the day about diagnosis, pricing and estimated pick up time. I can t imagine a better automotive service experience.

I have been taking my Saab to Michael's Automotive for over two years. Every time I need work done on my car I turn to this company for help. The owner, Michael Lilly, has such a way of explaining what is wrong with my car and how he will fix it. He always gets my car done in a timely manner and sometimes he even exceeds my expectation by fixing something that he saw needed repaired and not charging me extra for it.He is honest and I trust him and his staff to work on all of my cars in the future.Thanks,C.B.

I m a customer and have previously taken my vehicles to them for service and have had nothing than satisfaction. Last week I took my Volvo to the Volvo Dealer for a minor recall and when I pick up my car I was given a list of items that need to be addressed. One of the items was a Engine mount being lose and it need replacement. We ll, after the mechanic at Michael s Automotive inspected it he found that the engine mount was solid and torqued correctly to manufacture specifications. And all this inspection at NO EXTRA CHARGE! It was done during my 45000K service. They saved me hundreds of dollars for a repair I didn t needed. Michael s Automotive not only does an amazing job at a very competitive cost, but above all these folks are second to none when it comes to honesty. They are my forever service mechanic shop for years to come and will recommend to any one who s looking for a good and honest mechanic. I own a Subaru Outback and was overdue to have the routine maintenance done. A trusted friend with a Subaru suggested Michael's. My expectations of this business were high going in, and they FAR exceeded them by their expertise, respect for me as a customer, and their price, which was much more in line with my budget than the dealership's price. Michael's will definitely be my first call when I have mechanical needs for my Subaru.

I needed the alternator replaced on my 2007 Saab 9-5 Aero and am so glad I found Michael s Automotive. They were so friendly & professional- calling me with updates and asking if I had any concerns or questions. They even had an online system that texted me a link to a vehicle report (including pictures), which I haven t experienced elsewhere. inside was very clean & nice- it s clear they take pride in their business.The car was fixed promptly and is now ready for more adventures! Between how friendly & thorough they were and the great (quick) job on the car, I d highly recommend this place.

I've been using Michael's Automotive for.. whoa, nearly 20 years! For work I need on my cars, I place my faith in Michael's. Understand though, that he has been a Saab specialist and thus exactly right for my older Saabs. He's undertaken some complicated ABS brake repairs on my car that I don't think any other service organization in Idaho would have touched.Given the demise of Saab, Michael is expanding his expertise which pleases me no end, especially when my backup Toyota threw a timing belt. I simply had no doubt - take the car to Michael's.Michael's is not a bargain shop. The work is done right and charged fairly. When mistakes happen, he has stood behind his work, something that counts as much as the work itself.

Hello- I do not leave reviews that often, but just was so unbelievably thrilled with my whole experience using Michael's for the first time that wanted to give them 5 Stars!The service manager up front was extremely professional and addressed all of my needs.Michael's, you have made a customer for life!Thank You for your honesty & integrity while working on my BMW 750 LiRegards, Jeff

Michael s is my go to shop for my 2007 GTI and I have had great experiences with them - Quality work and a fair price. Josh manages the customer communication and does an outstanding job - I always had detailed updates on the status of the car and what to expect. Highly recommend

Michael's Automotive does not know me from Adam, yet took care of me as if I were a longtime, valued customer. Not only was Josh interested in me and my vehicle's problems, but he & the tech took care of my issues in a timely and professional manner. I'll have no problem returning to Michael's next time my vehicle needs attention. Recommended!

I have been a client with Michael and his staff for years. Josh is always very pleasant to work with. When my radiator blew recently and I had to have my car towed, I knew without hesitation Michael s is who I would call. Michael s has performed other service work on my car in the past and both my husband and I have been very happy with all aspects of our business with them.

Michael took such good care of my after my first Saab purchase that I bought a second one knowing I had a local mechanic who could help me keep it running great. He and his staff are friendly, professional, trustworthy as well as being great mechanics.

Michael's honesty is unsurpassed in the valley. His integrity and my patience allowed us to save my 3000GT from the grave. I won't go into details, but suffice it to say that most other shops would have thrown up their hands and given me no option but to sell the car for parts. Instead, we were able to jointly work a plan to recovery that was satisfactory to both of us. Kudos to Michael and Josh.

We have been going to Michael s since my wife got her Audi Q5 in 2016. We have been exceptionally happy with the service we have received. Michael s service advisors explain the work to be done and don t pressure you to do anything unnecessary. Their shop rates are very reasonable - much cheaper than the dealership. I d definitely recommend Michael s to all of my friends and family.

Very pleased. I took my Volvo SUV (difficult to get service for in Boise) in for service after reading online reviews. Michael was able to get me in same week for a small oil leak (Hurless Bros. was booked out 5 weeks).I found service to be prompt, courteous, and fair. I was given good information about what the problem was, charged a very reasonable fee, and had my problem diagnosed and fixed (even with a special part order) in under a week.We will definitely return.

Michael's provides excellent service! I take my car there even for my basic oil changes because I know that the technicians will be thorough in their work on my vehicle. I know I will receive an honest report of any needs it may have. I know I will be treated with integrity. Michael, Rich, and Luke are so helpful, and I m so thankful to be able to take my car there.

Michael's did an excellent job replacing the water pump on our 2004 Saab 9-3 aero a couple of years ago. Since then I have been doing most of the maintenance on our car myself, but Michaels went out of their way to help with some changes I needed in the settings that are only available through Tech 2. If you need any work done on a Saab, or any other vehicle, Michaels will get it done correctly and for a fair price.

Michael was prompt in diagnosing the repair needed and repaired only what was needed! I was given an estimate over the phone before bringing my vehicle in, and because Michael fixes only what is needed, the cost of my repair came in under the estimate. Reception was friendly and helpful. I was only without my car for one day! I highly recommend Michael's and will give them my business again.

Living in Boise, Idaho it is hard to find a mechanic that knows Saab. Thankfully I no longer have to search! Michael's Automotive is exactly what I want in a repair shop.The main thing that I look for in a mechanic is honesty, and at Michael's they give it to you straight. I took my 2001 Saab 9-5 in with a couple of known issues and they immediately made me feel comforted knowing that I was giving my Saab into well experienced hands. Of course owning a Saab things can be quite expensive on the repair side of things but after talking with the representative there they helped me figure out what repairs I could live without and which ones needed to be dealt with. They even helped me understand some extra tubing I found in the engine compartment!Overall there is noone else I would trust more than Michael's with my baby. Thanks Michael.

Michael's is THE place to take your Saab! They'll look after your car, charge a reasonable price and let you know what it may need going forward. If you truly want to keep your car on the road Michael's is the best in the NW.

I feel that Michael's shop is very much needed these days, in a community with so many Saabs still on the road, yet very few shops that will work on them. Michael's automotive is my go to shop for anything my Saab needs. They deliver quality care everytime.

Michael has cared for my Saab Convertible for 25+ years. More like a personal friend than a service shop owner. Scrupulously honest, always more than fair and personally takes care of my car. He deserves your business!
