I found Steve's online after moving in from out of state. Called and described the issue with the diesel engine on my 22-year-old vehicle. I hadn't owned the vehicle too long and just knew it was neglected. He told me he thought glow plugs would be the culprit. He took my truck the next day, called with a quote after looking it over and we moved ahead with the fix. New glow plugs did the trick. He also found and repaired some busted windshield washer parts, changed a gummy fuel filter, changed the oil and located a cover for my engine fuse panel that never came equipped when I bought the truck. He had the keys back to me the same week. He was upfront about the costs, and the truck is running right as rain. No more shuddering or check engine light. That was a few months ago. Good guys with good communication. They do thorough work, are very reasonable on turnaround time, and are always honest in doing so. We ve been going to them for years and will often recommend to others.

First the price was $1600 to $1800 turned out to be $2200. And didn't even do what we talked about. Didn't do what we talked about at all.told Steve I was taking some trips this summer and did not want to have to take dog box off unless it was apsuluty nessasary. Didn't put in the parts I had already bought. Talked to me like I had no knowledge about these parts that I researched and wanted installed in my van. Said I will not install these parts. Opinions I will consider but you can't impose your opinion on somebody's vehicle. Was smelling oil burning after repair. Went to Steve and said I'm smelling oil. He said in a very unfriendly manner dosen't mean it's something we did. Now have to take somewhere else. Won't go back

SATR was recommended to me when my car needed to be seen urgently. The owners were very helpful and made time to help the next day. My car was ready for pickup just one day after that! I appreciate how thorough, honest, and knowledgeable they were in answering my questions and addressing my concerns. Great local business.

This was probably one of the best auto repair experiences I ve had. My vehicle was dropped off late Saturday night. Much to my surprise I woke up Sunday morning with a call telling me my vehicle was fixed. Steve showed me the bad part and was very kind and helpful. The prices where fair and the service was great. I will definitely be recommending this mechanic to anyone who needs work done to their vehicle.Services: Electrical repair, Battery

I would recommend Steve s auto and truck repair to everyone. They are a one stop shop that is able to help you with all your needs. They helped me get my car inspected the same day after I found out my car inspection just expired. They are very knowledgeable on all cars and years. They even walked me through their whole process explaining everything. Both Steve senior and Steve junior are knowledgeable and will answer all your questions in great detail. Would highly recommend them, they are a high quality shop with the family owned customer service.

Awesome experience - Steve was extremely knowledgeable, he had the necessary equipment to diagnose the concern with my vehicle, he was very efficient with getting me an appointment then looking at my vehicle upon my scheduled time and provided professional advise regarding next steps considerations. I will be happy to return to his shop for future repair and/or maintenance needs. Thanks, Steve!

Steve s was one of the only shops available to work on my 2011 Audi A4. My water pump went out. It was towed and finished within 24 hours and it really didn t cost an arm and a leg. Steve always fits us into his busy schedule if we have an issue or need work done on any of our vehicles. He s honest and professional. I never feel unsure about whether he s giving us a good deal, unlike other shops. Our family has been giving our business to Steve for years!

Great shop. Have had work done on two different cars, got me in really quick, fixed the problem, took the time to explain what and why, fair prices. Junior and Senior are both nice guys, real gentlemen.What more could you ask for in service professionals? I have no reason to go anywhere else as long as they're in business.

Steve has always been a pleasure to work with. His extensive experience sets him apart from other private mechanics. For the longest time no one would work on my VW accept for the dealer. I was always told it was too much trouble to diagnose from other garages. Not for Steve, in fact, he wasn't afraid of dealing with my car. In the past he has changed the timing belt and most recently replaced the thermostat hosing that was cracked and leaking coolant. He always shows you the worn-out part too so you can see the cause of the problem. Even though I do not live close to Latrobe he is worth the time to take my car there to get it done right.

Be careful. This shop does not give you an estimate they just do the repairs and hand you the bill. Then hold your car ransom. I had made a point to ask for an estimate before repairs were done so I can decide if I could afford it at that time. The owner said he would call when he had a price ready. Then the next call I get is with the work already done. I've never gone to a shop that didn't get approval before working on my car. This happened more than once so I finally stopped using this place. Then the "receipt" he gives you to sign has the supposed estimate in small writing on it in order to make it seem like he gave you one. Then he has the final total more than the imaginary estimate probably to make it look real. By law a shop can't charge you more than 10% over the initial estimate which is why it's so important. It makes sense why this shop isn't registered with the better business bureau.

To whomever Anonymous is, if you were an actual customer you'd know we have NEVER proceeded with any work without authorization FIRST. We have had customers complain because we actually called instead of proceeding. Please don't leave reviews that are fake!! If you actually have a complaint, please call or come by and let us make whatever you think is wrong, right! There is nothing in fine print about an estimate. We always print estimates upon demand for free, not after as you stated.

I called Steve's auto asking for a ballpark price on installing coil springs he laughed at me and rudely responded with how do you want me to give you a quote my prices very on how much trouble the part gives me I kindly said I don't feel comfortable getting the part replaced not knowing a ballpark price I told him I won't hold him to the price I know something can go wrong which causes more time and he sarcastically said take it to someone else then that is not professional and being a business owner that is not how you talk to a potential customer I will never take any of my vehicles here
