After having my 1996 Defender into 4 different shops to address engine and steering concerns with no resolution, I took my truck to Palita s. In the end all of my issues were professionally repaired but more importantly John would not stop until he found the root cause. These guys know land Rovers and I would highly recommend them for any LR issues!Services: Steering & suspension repair, Auto engine diagnostic

This place is legit! Much less expensive than the dealer! I only go here for LR service. Go here if your LR is out of warranty. They will save you lots of money.

John and Rob are awesome!!! Very helpful and saved me tons of money by using genuine parts, but at an affordable price! I will always take my Rovers there for all my Rover needs (and wants).

John and Pat did great work on my Defender. It had years of deferred maintenance and they brought it up to spec. It is now perfectly sorted and in excellent running condition. Part of the deferred maintenance they addressed was a leaky rear main seal. The new seal they ordered from a major US based LR parts supplier turned out to be faulty and in short time started leaking again and burned up my clutch. John took my Defender back and replaced not only the rear main seal under warranty (which is ~ 15 hours of labor), and also comp'd me the clutch both part and labor. Palita's stands behind their work and when something isn't right they'll make it right.I trust these guys fully and highly recommend them to anybody who owns a vintage Land Rover.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Engine repair

Great shop. Drove an hour in a car that was stalling while driving for their expertise. Just moved back to the area and my normal guy in Texas obviously couldn t help. I have had issues with this car for a while and was dreading a huge $$$ hit. Rob and Jo(h)n were great. Rob fielded all of my calls and Jo(h)n took the time to go through all possible issues to make sure the correct issue was addressed. Thought a whole new alternator would be needed but it was just loose wires with the fuse box. Fingers crossed that s all it is. But will definitely be using this shop again for any and all of my Range Rover repairs. As an added caveat, this was all over the holidays and I had no appointment but there were gracious enough to let me drop the car off and squeeze it when they had time. Many thanks!!

Rob and John were extremely helpful, consultative and got my car get back on the road the safest way as possible. I have a 2012 Range Rover with 135k miles and they are keeping it alive! They know their stuff, told me truthfully what I need to fix immediately and what can wait a little. I will never walk into anywhere else or let anyone work on my car other than the Palitas team ever again. They even followed up with me to make sure everything was good to go and met me on their day off to allow me to pick up my car around my convenience! Thanks Rob!

All the drivers in our family entrust their vehicles to John Palita and would not even think of going anywhere else. John has done major repairs for us, such as replacing an engine, but is equally reliable for more commonplace maintenance tasks. John's price is always fair and his assessment is honest. We have never worked with a mechanic we like better. Highly recommended!

Don t let one bad egg fool you. This is a great shop! Four years ago I bought my first 04 LR discovery 2 with some knowledge how to fix or have a dealer near me in MD. I found Palita s on. LR blog . Came to John only at the time and he was honest and straight forward ( no mansplaining) his prices are far less than a dealer and quality work. Rob has been an added pleasure to communicate with since he has taken the service area over to let the ( wizard) John work his magic ! I have had heads diff transfer case , rear chassis and great advice to play at winter Romp .

I hired Palita's Automotive to perform a complete restoration on my 1997 Defender D90 over a year ago (wheels up, including new chassis and engine). The job took over twice as long as indicated and I had to return the vehicle multiple times for issues. I finally gave up on them because they couldn't get it correct, were difficult to contact and didn't have the parts promised. Although John is a nice guy, I can't recommend them for major vehicle restoration work. Maybe they would be good at oil changes and such. Since the work was "completed", I've had my vehicle in another shop in Maryland to the tune of over to 5K to go back and correct / complete the work that was originally paid for at their location. Overall: Not a detail oriented shop.

These guys positively represent old-school customer service. The communication was friendly and responsive. Although the news of the fate of my trusty 4Runner was not what I had hoped, Rob and John were informative, professional, and accommodating. I hope to send business their way in the near future.

Undeniably "THE PLACE" to go for repair and restoration on your Land Rover Vehicle. I recently had sunroof issues due to my haphazard attemptto recover my sunroof sunshade. John was able to retrieve the sunroof frame from deep inside the roof cavity and got it working again. Palita's also informed me of a botched Meineke exhaust weld job, that caused the vehicle to have an exhaust leak. Top notch service.

Used this place once, NEVER AGAIN. Dropped off an LR3 to have the fan fixed. Waited 2 weeks for the appointment. Got a call the same day saying the car had been fixed. Picked up the car that night, the fan stopped working in 10 minutes as I was driving back home. I called immediately and left a message requesting a call the following day, didn't hear back. Called again the following day, and was told to bring the car back THE FOLLOWING MONTH, PAY AGAIN, and they would fix it... They also charged me $145 for an UNAUTHORIZED OIL CHANGE!!! I'm out $270, can't drive the car, and can't reach them regarding a refund.

The staff is very knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. Needed a state inspection ASAP because I didn't realize it had expired. Even though they were booked for the day (probably because they have a lot of loyal customers), they managed to squeeze me in to an already busy day. Highly recommend for all of your automotive needs!
