Great place to take your Mini or BMW for service, especially older and higher mileage vehicles. Rick knows all the ins and outs of the engine and can diagnose issues at a fair price. Very honest & reputable. Highly recommend.

I took my Mini to Rick after getting jerked around at a dealership where I was told the car likely needed a new engine ($9000+) and I should consider selling it to a scrap yard. I'm an amateur mechanic, I knew the problem was electrical by my own diagnosis but I can't do electrical work on Mini computers. I had it towed from the dealer to Snyder and it was running again for around $800. Obviously, the mechanic at the dealership was wrong and did a poor job at his attempt to fix it, but he actually CREATED additional faults that Rick eventually had to fix to get it running! I was so happy with the service here I asked him to take care of a few more service items that I was planning on doing myself; I had budgeted so much for the repair based on the reports from the stealership and Rick saved me so much by comparison, it felt like the only honest thing to do. I'm an avid car enthusiast and my vehicles are very important to me, after others had left me desperate and depressed Rick breathed life back into my car and I can't thank him enough. To say the diagnostic Snyder Automotive provided was thorough is the biggest understatement. I can t express how wonderful it is to leave an auto service center with clearly defined explanations of everything that was done and discovered, with details on replacement part sources, and next steps on your vehicle. I had read the reviews prior to booking my diagnostic and was so happy to know they were ALL right! Amazing service, and suffice it to say - we are going back to take care of the uncovered issues. I HIGHLY recommend Snyder Automotive if you have a BMW and need a specialist.

Rick and Erin are very kind and such a pleasure to work with. They've helped me with many things for my Mini over the years, and despite living in Pittsburgh and having to drive or take public transportation for 30-60 minutes, I always come back to them because of how much I trust Rick with my car. Just make sure to book early! They're getting more and more business every year.

This place was a life savor! My wife was on vacation driving from Vermont to Ohio when her check engine light came on and forced her to stop for the night. The next morning I called at least 20 shops in the area to get her mini Cooper looked at, and nobody would even look at it. After getting her towed for about an hour Snyders not only made room to get my wife s car looked at back on the road but took the time to make a list of sites to use to get mini compatible hearts since I do most of the mechanic work myself. Not only are him and his wife super nice but he definitely knows his way around a mini Cooper and if I didn t live in Vermont this would definitely be the mechanic that I would use for my wife s hands-down!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair, Oil change

I was in Greensburg visiting a friend late on a Friday afternoon and needed a small emergency repair for my Ford. Snyder's was able to get my car back on the road and allowed me to get to my destination safely. I highly recommend Snyder's for anyone in the area who's looking for a mechanic that will go above and beyond for their customers.

I just purchased a 2007 E63 M6 and brought it to Snyder Automotive for an oil change/initial once-over. Rick not only saved some oil for a Blackstone oil analysis, but he also went over the engine bay and replaced every missing screw & clip and properly reconnected the intake boxes. He was able to replace the randomly missing windshield washer fluid pump and replaced the hood struts so I can show off at car shows. HE REMOVED THE K&N STICKERS FOR ME! I don't know what else to say other than if you want professional, top-quality, well-priced service on your BMW or Mini, go to Snyder Automotive! I'm beyond grateful for the incredible work and level of care for my Mini Countryman. I brought it in and thought I had the possessed used car from hades. A true lemon and I was near chalking it up as a loss and life lesson. I'm beyond thankful that it didn't have to be the nightmare I thought it was. It's running great again and best of all I have confidence that it's going to be trouble free. If you're not taking your Mini or BMW here then you're doing it wrong!Service: Engine repair

I can't say enough about how pleasurable it has been working with the staff at Snyder Automotive for the various repairs my car needed. Honest, conscientious, and personable are just a few of the words I would us to describe the people and organization. The workmanship and great attention to detail are nonpareil in the BMW repair world. I just wish Google didn't stop me at 5 stars.

Rick is absolutely wonderful! I took my 2008 BMW 335xi to him recently after reading all of the excellent Google reviews, and he was very closely located to my employer. He was very transparent from the beginning regarding his approach, process, etc. I had an engine leak and Rick did an investigation and dispelled some of the fears/myths that the BMW dealers diagnose these cars with. He was prompt with all of the work performed, and even showed me why a grounding cable needed replaced, by keeping the old one for me. I will gladly recommend Snyder to anyone in need of German auto repairs! 5 Stars!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

Rick (the owner) of Snyder's is one of the most kind, fair, honest, and good hearted mechanics out there! Not only that, but he is extremely talented and skilled at what he does! He chased an electrical issue I was having and did a ton of other work for me. Rick wanted my car fixed as much as I did, you don't find that passion just anywhere. Anytime there was an update I'd receive a call from him and we would discuss the next steps. He always kept me in the loop. I will definitely be a repeat customer, the hour drive is worth it. Brought in a very difficult to diagnose problem with my BMW. Other mechanics were unable to diagnose the issue but Rick with his knowledge and expertise of these vehicles was not only able to diagnose the issue but fix it. I couldn't be happier. I don't usually write reviews, but I need to for this owner. My daughter goes to college in Greensberg and is 1 1/2 hours away. So when the clutch started going bad in her Mini, I of course couldn't find anyone in my area who would touch a clutch replacement in a Mini Cooper. So I called Snyder's. Glad I did. He replaced the clutch (and not the flywheel when he certainly could have and charged us for it), rust repaired both subframes (which I guess is a common problem with Minis), replaced the drive belt, replace the wiper blades, and still came under the estimate they gave me for just doing the clutch. That is far above and beyond great customer service if you ask me. My daughter was so happy about how well they treated her when she went there to pay for the work. He showed and explained everything he did and she was treated with respect. It's good to know that there are still some "honest mechanics" in the world who love the cars they work on as much as the owners of these "niche" automobiles. It's also nice to know I have someone I can trust if there is any other car repair need for my daughter to go to when I am an hour and a half away. My wife and I thank you for everything your shop did for our daughter.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Rick is the MINI whisperer!!! He brought back the spirit of my car just by touching it! I giggled my entire ride home, its performance obviously improved. I noticed important differences right away, like smoother idle and my sunroof moved like a hot knife through butter. It was definitely greased, but he took no credit for it. You do not get this kind of appreciation for your business at the dealership. I also can't say enough about the good nature and helpfulness of Erin in the office. Because of Snyder Automotive Services, there's no more drawback to MINI ownership; now there's an affordable, highly-skilled, personable option for maintaining a MINI.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I found Rick on Facebook and am very happy I did as I was very concerned about finding a quality mechanic for my 05 mini cooper s as the are very finicky little cars. Rick is a quality mechanic that knows these cars very well and treats you with respect. He is fair and honest which is exactly what I was looking for. We were on a 500+ mile road trip when the "Charging Malfunction" light came on. We googled the closest BMW service and luckily found our way to Snyder Automotive. Because it was a Sunday, nothing was open so we left our car, the key and a note. We felt like we were taking a big risk leaving it without even speaking to someone but we had to continue on our trip due to a family emergency. Mr. Snyder called us the next morning and after looking under the hood, he knew what had happened and what needed to be fixed. He gave us a fair and accurate estimate for the repairs and explained everything in detail. Since we wouldn't be back to pick it up for several days, we opted to have a full service done in addition to the fixes. Our 2009 X5 runs like new and Snyder Automotive saved the day for us. Plus, our car had been washed, cleaned and vacuumed. I can't recommend them enough.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I was very impressed with the high level of professionalism. I had a problem with my 335i. The DSC light was on with an amber brake light. Rick rest the error and calibrated the steering angle sensor. He also changed the diff fluid and brake fluid. It was obvious from his report that he did a thorough job of looking over the car and found a few little things that he attende to. I couldn't be happier.

I can't even put into words how thankful I am to have encountered Rick and Erin and taken "Midnight" to their shop! I had very bad experiences with a previous shop that put aftermarket transmission components into my car (went through several slave and master cylinders) and put the wrong clutch in my car! Rick is the goto for any Mini owners in the western PA area, he takes care of your vehicle like it's his own and the service is beyond fantastic, he keeps you in the loop, is great on pricing, is very personable, and is the best mechanic I've ever met! He not only fixed my transmission by replacing the clutch and slave cylinder for less than half of what the previous shop charged me, he used factory parts like the other shop should have! Over 6 months later no more transmission issues! He also changed my timing chain guard and tensioner which were broken (my car ran like a diesel before) and even dropped the oil pan on my car to fetch the broken pieces of timing chain guard at no cost! When people say "a good Mechanic is worth their weight in gold", Rick is the guy they are talking about! Would highly HIGHLY recommend their shop to any mini or foreign car owners, they will have my business for life!Services: Transmission, Electrical repair, Electrical, Oil change

Locally owned family business with a fast turn around. Rick and his wife really provide a great service. They have a good network for parts and put in the extra time to fix any problems quickly, communicate clearly any work that needs to be done and even take photos and keep any old parts to show you if anything needed replaced. Was happy with the service and after years of taking my cars to dealerships, am sure it s a lot cheaper.

I can t say enough about the exemplary service I received at Snyder Automotive. Owner, Rick Snyder, quickly and accurately diagnosed the problem with my Mini s door latch. He took the time to explain the issue and how he would handle the repair.As a first time client, I was delighted to learn that the service appointment included a comprehensive inspection of my Mini Cooper, Dot .Erin promptly prepared a quote and scheduled my service appointment.I was updated throughout the serviceappointment. Additional problems, found during the inspection, were brought to my attention.Rick and Erin exceeded my expectations on every level. When I picked up Dot I found many items had been repaired at no charge. I had no idea that my spare tire was flat and in need of repair. Rick took care of it no charge. The hood latches weren t operating properly due to corrosion. Again, Rick repaired at no charge. No detail was overlooked. My license plate holder was unsightly and in need of repair - I hadn t noticed, but Rick did - repaired at no charge. I was thrilled with the professional service I received. And the icing on the cake - Dot, my treasured little Mini had received a bubble bath as her final service. She looked and ran better than she had in months.Mini of Pittsburgh and Bud Smail have both serviced Dot . Neither experience comes close to the kid glove treatment Dot and I received from Rick and Erin. I'm not sure where to start with this business. I had an appt on the 28th and snyders fit me in today. Him and his wife easily fixed a mess that another mechanic had created. Because of that mechanic my BMW would not pass inspection. I dropped it off at 3pm today and it was fixed on time at 5. Which is the time he said it would be ready. My BMW will now pass inspection with ease. Not only were the issues fixed but some other issues he also took care of as well. From the moment I spoke with Rick and his wife on the phone to the moment I drove the car away I was treated so respectfully. This business went above and beyond to make sure my problem was addressed fast and efficiently. This will be where Ill take my current and any future bmws I own to be serviced.. Just moved to the area and had a sensor go bad on my mini. After a rude conversation with the service department at the mini dealership in Pittsburgh I decided to go with the mom and pop shop. I found Snyder s through a quick google search and I m glad I tried them. I will be coming here for all my future repairs/services. Great customer service and workmanship. These guys are truly a class act! It was beyond refreshing to take my car somewhere that not only knew what they were doing, but we're professional, honest, kind, and fair.
