This is an outstanding independent shop. I ve been a customer here for well over a decade, and have multiple vehicles that all get serviced by Greenwood. The Greenwood guys are knowledgeable, courteous, prompt, and most of all honest. That last trait seems to be unfortunately uncommon in today s automotive service arena, where more complicated vehicles coupled with higher pressure sales tactics at authorized dealers leads to unnecessary (or often unperformed) work and outrageously expensive repair bills. At new car dealers I ve had friends charged $500 for a 30,000 mile service where all that was actually done was an oil change and a new air filter, and I ve had elderly relatives told they needed new tires on a less than three year old car with under 15,000 miles on it (the tires still had 2/3 of their tread left). None of that will happen at Greenwood. You and your vehicle will be treated fairly and with a high level of mechanical competence.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I've been using Greenwood for about a year on the recommendation of a friend and longtime customer. Based on my experiences, I recommend Greenwood highly. I think they run an honest business, and when giving estimates/prices, they don't push unnecessary work at all ...quite the opposite, really: they seem interested in helping me to save money. In addition, the price of their services have been very fair. Nice folks, too.Very glad to have them nearby.

We bring four of our family's cars to Greenwood for service and have never felt over charged or not happy with the work. They are extremely professional, communicate well when there are issues and we will continue to be customers at Greenwood. Five stars all the way!

Couple months ago took my car in because it wouldn't start so I told him I was assuming it was the starter. He checked it, gave me a call & told me it wasn't the starter that it was an issue with wires from ignition switch. He was honest enough to tell me why fix something that's not broken. Someone else would have replaced the starter knowing what the issue was & charge me for a new starter then tell me there's other issues. The sign on his wall says it all! HONEST & INTEGRITY. Waited over 2 weeks, but well worth the wait for a job well done. Will definitely go back. There ain't too many honest ppl out there any more.

The service is the best in the tristate area. I drive from out of state to have my vehicles serviced here. It's worth it. The owner and team are the best! You can tell they truly value their customers and love their jobs. They are a great team!

Have been using these guys for several years keeping my 2000 Sienna running. They recently corrected a problem that was draining my battery and causing my doors to not stay locked. Total charge: $35.00! Another mechanic could have talked about electronic sensors, major repairs. They are honest, competent and straightforward. Highly recommended.

Brought my 1998 Crown Victoria with 356,000 miles on it in for stalling. The guys at Greenwood did some work to it and it is still running strong with a whopping 392,000 miles. Who would have thought a car could run that far. Great service and very honest people! I highly recommend this shop.

Recently moved to Glenside and needed a state inspection. I quickly called Greenwood Automotive. They had me in for the inspection in a few days and got out very quickly. They were professional and easy to work with and we will be returning here with all of our vehicles.

Greenwood Automotive Specialists is truly one of those gems: a local business that's trustworthy, thorough, professional, and fair. Their expertise is outstanding and yet they are so considerate with their pricing. They really "get it!" We have two older vehicles that we keep running strong with Greenwood Automotive - we would not trust anyone else with our SUV (hybrid) and F150 truck. Thanks guys!!

Over the phone, in the shop, on the estimate papers - the technicians wanted to make sure I understood what I had paid for and what additional services were recommended. I felt very respected as a customer. Car appointment was turned around in a timely manner.

I can't speak to the quality of service, since we elected to not do the necessary work to our car. However, the mechanic was friendly and honest, and we didn't feel like he pressured us into getting work done.

Thieves! Scamming mechanics. 2014, I had my inspections done and passed with a flashing brake light (due to a missing brake pad sensor). I asked if the flashing brake light would be an issue before I dropped my car off and they said no. Next day, they called and told me it won't pass safety inspect due to the tint on the brake lights and side markers. He asked me if wanted to him to take it off so it'll pass. I said yes. I brought it in for a $68+tax inspection and ended up paying $280 for removing tint to make it pass. Now, 2015, everything's going to pass with a few mechanic's suggestions (oil change, rattling of suspension when hitting bumps, etc.). Here comes the scam, he now says he's not going to pass it because of the flashing brake light that was no issue last year. Unless I get it repaired he will not put a sticker on it. I asked what changed from last year and he said he doesn't remember the light last year but he does remember removing the tint from the brake lights. He says that the flashing BRAKE PAD sensor means that the brake system is bad. It's monitors the brakes master cylinder. WHY would a brake pad sensor that is made to sense the wear of the brake pads have anything to do with the master cylinder? I just caught him lying. Long story short, he was trying to make me spend more money that I didn't have to. DONT GET SCAMMED BY THEM.

A trustworthy auto service business is worth it weight in gold. Ken is a class act and all about earning a long term client rather than seeing what he can get away with for a short term gain.
