I purchased a commercial vehicle of his (bucket truck) that he owned and operated right off of his lot. Mind you I am not very well versed in the truck industry, meaning I am not a mechanic. He told me the truck did not have any major problems and he used it for light duty (changing lights on his barn) and that it needed very little work. LIES! I purchased the truck for 8,500. He slapped an inspection sticker on the truck (without inspecting it on the spot, which I am pretty sure is Illegal) and sent me on my way. The truck broke down 2 hours later!! I called him for his roadside service assistance, as stated on his biz card and even offered to pay full price for him to do so and was denied. I then had the truck towed after no return call by Mr Phillips to an actual legit repair shop and there is over 12k in repairs needed to this truck to make it legal and even safe to be on the road. He apparently took the catalytic converter out, redesigned spark plugs, the bottom and frame dry rotted and disguised, muffler rigged and many other problems that made me even pulling off of that lot a life-threatening event!!! I am disgusted and furious with this man, thus the scathing review! Do not trust this guy with your vehicles! He is the typical auto repair guy that you hear nightmare stories about. Proceed at your own risk dealing with this person. F- service...Karma is real buddy. next stop , better BBB! SCUMBAG!Service: Vehicle Inspection

Quality service and an honest price. They did not try to upsell anything just because I was a woman. My engine almost seized and Bobby and his crew were able to fix it. Had my truck towed here back in December for a problem with the engine running poorly, I didn t have time to look at it on my own so I just wanted to know what was wrong with it. They diagnosed it as a bad injection pump and due to the price with labor and what not, I ended up doing it on my own. It s an old truck so I wanted to save some $, but their diagnostic was spot on. Once I got around to replacing it that solved my problem.Service: Engine repair

This is the place to go whether it s a small or big issue with your car or truck. Always honest and upfront with what you ll need and always reasonably priced with little to no wait time. These guys know what they re doing and how to keep customers happy. I continually recommend them for a reason!

Had my wife's vehicle in for state inspection and a tire service. I have taken several vehicles in for various services. Service was exceptional as always. Very honest garage, reasonably priced, will not try to sell you on anything you do not need. Would highly recommend.

Bob stands behind his work and I wouldn t take my car anywhere else for repairs! Whether it s an oil change, inspection, or new tires- he s the guy to do the job. He ll never try to sell you on repairs you don t need. I love finally having an honest and trustworthy mechanic to take my car to!

Just a little over 10k miles on a new motor to have nothing but issues with both repairs done and this shop.Nice to know that the owner Bob who runs a certified diesel machanic shop that was paid good money to do a complete engine overhaul, would think it s a good idea to install used accessories that were in no good of condition to hold up with the new motor being installed. Thanks to your inferior workmanship and cutting corners caused a used old pulley on ac compressor to seize up causing the serpentine belt to snap and tangle into the harmonic balancer creating a major mess. This poor judgment of such a simpletask of just looking over the bearings to see the condition of them, explains the reason for your other poor judgment and quality of work done throughout the entire process of engine install. The day you finished installing the motor to simply call me to say your work vehicle is finished but you ll need to have it towed to Mercedes to have them finalize the programming since you didn t have the software to clear codes etc. With that said cost me more money just for Mercedes to call me to explain that your testing of fuel injectors were incorrect along with plastic manafold was cracked causing the vehicle to not run correctly. The only credit I give you through this experience was making that portion right by giving me a credit for the fuel injectors that were paid for to be tested after Mercedes had to prove you were at fault. Following the next month I had to bring the vehicle back to you due to oil coating the engine block from a leak someplace. You claimed in a text that I still have that the leak was found and that the sealant around pan had to cure for 24hrs before I could have the work van back. Little did I know until now that the AC compressor has to be replaced, exposing the motor that you had used some type of JB weld to repair a crack in the housing of the upper pan on a new motor that came to you as a complete dropIn from Michigan. I had clarified with Steve from US engine productions that the motor they supplied you was free of damage and not a junk yard motor nor would that be something they would ever install to a motor they distribute in the 40 some years of being in business.Lets not forget the month following the oil leak fix it had to return to your shop due to a broken sensor on the turbo manafold causing it to need towed down to you again that your tech Tim wanted to fix my using RTV to keep the broken sensor from falling out until I had to explain that s not the proper way to fix it.Then again a few months later antifreeze is leaking and check engine light is on. When trying to confront you about the matter in person, being text I still have showing you we re not responding to my concern your secretary came back to the office to tell me you were in boat mode code word for not wanting to deal with me. If you can remember I stood outside your personal boat at your shop for 20min until you realized I wasn t going away just to tell me to leave it hear and we ll look at it when we have time. I guess your personal projects during your time at the shop come first before a customer that spent over $20,000 with you on one invoice. Don t forget you charged me to change a simple overflow reservoir and to clear a engine code that came right back on after pulling out of your shop for another $700.To top of your poor quality workmanship and what you stand by, when confronted over a year later again because the motor is now exposed due to AC compressor gone bad the transmission dip stick tube is missing. The bolts for brackets are in place but not dip stick tube leaving a quarter size hole open on top of transmission for over the past year.Again when you were confronted kindly about the matter you left it up to your secretary to past the word on for me to take it to another shop.It is now at another shop with them clarifying that an apoxy was used and dipstick tube is missing causing thousand of dollars in new repairs. Again you hide from me when confronted instead of making it right.Services: Transmission, Tires, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair, Air conditioning

R. Phillips is my personal and business "GO TO" auto repair shop. Bobby and his staff are awesome to deal with. They are the most responsive, knowledgeable and friendly I have ever dealt with. There is no other shop to consider for diesel repairs, they knock it out of the park each and every time!

-Doesn t stand behind work-Puts blame on others-Hides from customers-Doesn t inspect his Techs work-Comes of as helpful until and issue occurs-Slow turn aroundConclusion: Poor business owner and sloppy mechanic. Find another diesel mechanic for your repairs. There are a dozen more in the Chester County area far more superior than what this shop is made out to be.Service: Engine repair

Highly recommend R. Phillips Service. He can come out in an emergency to keep your trucks on the road with his service truck. I only trust Bob with all my vehicles now whether it is a small routine maintenance or a major engine repair.

Only place we go anymore! Honest, trustworthy and stands behind their work. We use him for everything from routine service, major diesel service repairs, to boat repairs and our RV. He can do it all!
