Had a good time here with our kid on Halloween weekend. It was crowded, but we had no trouble getting to our site. The site was a little tricky but plenty of space. Luckily, there was nobody next to us, so we had some extra privacy. A few standing dead trees around the site concerned me, but there was no wind, so we were fine. Our site had no fire ring when we arrived, so I had to snag one from the empty site next door. Our picnic table was also on the far edge of the site, close to our neighbor and not our pad, so we had to move that back. Activities for the kids were okay. The haunted barn seemed to be popular, and we had a good time. Trick or treating at the campsites was also fun for the kids. We typically camp at state parks, so going to a campground is always an interesting experience. I'm not sure I would spend the extra money to stay here again when state parks provide a lot of value for the money. But if you are more of a social camper that needs to have scheduled activities to keep the kids entertained, it's a good option. The location was great. Not far from Gettysburg.

My family and friends have been Halloween camping here for about 30 years (since I was born) and there are many reasons why we continue to come back. The community is safe and fun for young kids and adults, there's so many festivities and traditions for all ages throughout the weekends in October. From decoration, costume and pumpkin carving contests to trick or treating, a haunted house and dancing, this campground knows how to create a community of fun and celebrations. We love coming here every year, it's truly one of the best weekends of the year for us.

Wow this was awful this weekend. Halloween activities were great but The site and campground was a mess and didn't make.up for it. Our site (38) was filled with poison ivy, two large dead trees that were very worrying with the high wind, and a bathhouse with non-functioning toilets. I mean literally, nothing was flushing. Showers were ok but couldn't adjust water temps. The toilet areas were absolutely disgusting though and clearly couldn't handle the amount of people that had to use them. The roads were filled with divots and potholes and we had to back in over a narrow, eroded tunnel for water that was difficult. Site was filled with holes and it was hard to get the camper level. We won't be returning.

Always a great time at Granite! Has become our yearly tradition for wizards weekend! Have been for other events and it's always a great time! Meet other nice people or stay to yourself, there really is something for everyone! And prices are not bad! Staff is amazing and helpful!Nearby activities: Gettysburg has LOADS to do and is right there, also close to other areas with fun stuff!Safety: Simple and yet very effective, have never had an issue, even if someone was speeding the campground took care of it and no more problemsWalkability: Easy to walk, long distances for some stuff but worth itFood & drinks: The cafe has great options! If you want something else Gettysburg is so close you can find just about anything you crave!Noteworthy details: So many little details on weekends, makes it so fun! Like wizards weekend, if you find the golden snitch, you get a free weekend of camping! So many cool activities for all ages!

Customer Service was Awesome especially Wayne, he graciously filled our water floats. Cafe was delicious as we ate there a few times during our stay. Pool was very nice. Few suggestions: you allow floats in the pool, take that off your pool sign that they are not allowed. We had a few Karens questioning our floats vs the sign. Our cabin was clean, I would recommend fixing the screens in Cabin 53, a few were ripped. Mowing around the bath house would have helped us, as the grass was long. Overall, a nice girls weekend!

Non refundable even if health causes one not to be able to go. Should give at least partial refund. Not happy

We were at Granite Hill for the Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival so the resort was pretty much at capacity. We had one minor issue which the staff was quick to address. All of the staff we met were friendly and helpful. Our site was clean and pleasant. We would definitely book here again.

We had a great time at the Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival. The only issue was with the showers and bathroom facilities. They were not clean. Drain flies, spiders and cob webs were everywhere and the water was so scalding hot in the showers next to our camp that we couldn't take a shower. We had to drive to the other side of the campground to the other shower facility where we could adjust the temperature. Other than that issue, we had a wonderful time.

We were put on site mg4. This site is full of big rocks and the most unleveled site we've ever been on. The rocks are so big that when I went to unload the fifth wheel, the blocks slid out from the wheels almost causing a disaster. I will have to replace the tail gate and do a little repair to the coach. Then to top it off I asked to fill a brand new propane tank, they brought it back unusable not sure what they did to it.We will never stay they again. Sent the owners a email 2 days ago, they never even responded to see if everyone was ok. The site should have gravel not rocks. I have pictures of the rocks, just not sure how to post.

WOW, Ive stayed here about 5 years ago, wanted to stay again this Year. But after seeing the reviews,I wanted to go see for Myself before booking. The reviews are right,I dont know what happened to this place, but it looks terrible,The main camp area looks like it hasnt been touched with a mower, weed eater in months, the trash laying around is terrible. We went into the bathhouses and showers stalls at the main camp, and I swear they have not been cleaned in weeks, 100s of dead bugs laying around, cob webs every where, tiolet paper on the floors, and the smell was awful. This place could be a top camping resort in the Gettysburg Area, But it needs alot of Work and Someone to Care enough to Make it That.I camp all over the East Coast and This is was a total shock to See this Place looking like this. I Hope this place gets the Right People in place to make it a Top Notch Camping Resort, But It needs alot Work.

I have been going to Granite Hill since I was a child. We were reintroduced to Granite Hill by friends when we bought our camper. We spent 2 months at Granite Hill this Summer. We are not a high maintenance family, so having a fully functioning campground is not needed for us but Granite Hill definitely needs work. The pool was green for a week (and usually after a busy weekend) and had a constant leak. The lady in the front office is rude and acted like she had no idea who we were (again, we were camping there for 2 months). The red shed cafe is just regular food and it s overpriced. I went there ONCE because the man working the counter was extremely rude. We arrived on June 1st and found damage to our camper wire (not from being stored but from them moving it) we asked to speak to the owners to get an apology, to figure out how to make it right it is September and we have yet to hear from the owners and we ended up fixing our wire just enough to tow it home (also, this is a brand new camper). I am very disappointed in how our experience turned out. We really wanted to support a family owned campground. We love family owned campgrounds and wish we had more around us. We bought a family tree to be planted here. So we truly wanted this to be our place to go as a family. Since our experience this Summer, we have cancelled all future reservations and at this time and have no plan to return to Granite Hill. It s sad but it is what it is. I wish the campground well.

We came here for the mini golf. Staff very nice. The course must have been fantastic at one time but now it s tired and needs new carpeting and an up grade in plants and looks. We still had a great time. The course is a hard one with lots of hills and twists and turns to it. Best of all it was empty and we had it all to ourselves and it cost us only $20 total for the 4 of us. If the owners put a little time and effort this could be a great money maker! It took us 2 hours to complete.

Due to the fire up in Canada, the air quality was beyond a level of safe for my family and me during our reservation. I contacted the campground to cancel or move my stay date and they refused. The manager claimed to have left to avoid talking with me. So, essentially, I was charged for the stay that I was unable to stay for. They stole 200 dollars from me. I would highly caution against staying with this company.

Play area is unsafe and falling apart. Pool wasn t open. Bathrooms are disgusting. No cable or Wi-Fi. Food was over priced and barely edible. Events were not well planned. Grass is all different lengths. Just terrible experience.

Camp there last October for the first time.Staff were great. Everyone was so friendly. My kind of camping.I saw some bad reviews, But didn't stop us from going. Was not disappointed.Camping is not about amenities, it's about spending time with friends and family enjoying nature , sitting by the fire and having a great time.

We ve been coming here on and off for about five years. We didn t come here last year but after this past weekend I m not certain we will again.Lots of dead trees that are left standing. A large branch broke loose and hit the camper next to ours. There was a tree growing across the entrance to our site that the people in the office said that maintenance would take care of (no one did). The pool turned green while we were there. My wife noted the bathhouse was awful.Maintenance seems to have fallen by the wayside here. The poison ivy is rampant. The playgrounds seem shaky. The rules here are not heavily enforced: People were using golf carts, dogs were off leash, and when there wasn t the odor of the sewage system the odor of marijuana was present. This is a pretty campground and doesn t need much to return it to its former state.

Most of the campground is nice. Bathhouse was outstanding with individual showers with dressing rooms and all. Our site and our loop in the main campground was an opportunity. Came in Friday night grass wasn't cut and big branch was across the pad. Had maintenance help move it. There were large branches and fallen over trees all over the place for the entirety of our 5 day stay in the "main campground loop" . One road was completely blocked by a tree. I get it, it's hard to get help right now but the storms were at least a day before we got there. Monday night we're in the pool and they tell us at 6:45 we have to get out because the office is closing at 7 and the pool can't stay open. Never saw anything about that previously. It is really close to Gettysburg without being in the city which was nice. Beautiful views and I loved (no sarcasm here I'm a grown up farm kid) the fact that I was hearing cows and such at night. We even saw 2 wild turkey hens and about 7 little ones our last night there.

Absolutely awful. Hours posted online are until 8pm. We arrived at 6ish on 9/30/22 and around 6:30, the only employee removed all the flats from every hole, so we had no idea where the holes were starting each hole. After the flags were removed, the employee closed up and left us there alone. Lights didn t come in until very late. 99% of the greens are torn up and the extremely poorly maintained-ripped, caked in moldy gunk, etc. The holes were extremely hard and this made two kids as well as adults disgruntled. It was so poorly maintained there were areas you couldn t even hit the ball from without standing inside a plant. Hole 16 (I think? Again, no flags) the chute to take the ball is clogged and our balls were stuck and lost so we couldn t even finish the course. Horrible. Don t waste your money.

The place is huge! And it was about 20% occupied when we were there. Yet, they booked us crammed together with others in clusters. I originally thought, maybe it s for ease in maintenance and trash collection? But, no, that isn t the reason, because I didn t see any maintenance and there is no trash collection at our site. So, we show up ready for some relaxing time not happening noisy neighbors, and bass thumping music with a DJ coming from a pavilion evidently sponsored by the campground that went on all day and well into the night. At night we called to ask the park to have the music turned down to an acceptable level park management couldn t have cared less. No reduction in volume The sound levels were so high that we seriously considering de-camping and going somewhere else.Evidently this is a great place if you are looking for a party place, but if you want peace and rest, go somewhere else.Oh... forgot to mention... when we asked about WiFi access, their answer was, "you have to come to the office and sit outside.. We have a picnic table outside where you can sit..."

Watch out Military veterans. The ten percent discount promiss is a scam. Anyone that has RV traveled at least a little knows the longer you stay at a park the better rate you get. A weekly rate is better than a daily and a monthly rate is a lot less expensive. When I scheduled my reservation I was told to pay in advance. They charged me the monthly rate and when I arrived I asked about the ten percent military discount offered. Their brochure stated it would be applied when I showed my military ID. I was told I already had a discount by the monthly rate and could not get a double discount. I explained the amount for the month was the regular rate and the military discount should apply to that. A non military person pays that same.monthly rate so where does the discount come in? I normally don't ask for the discount but this would have amounted to over one hundred dollars for me and was a big reason I chose to stay here. They already had my money so I was stuck. They have all reasons listed for no refunds except Armageddon. Truthfully. This is a nice park. The manager even smiled when she stuck it to me.

Hidden gem. I've done my fair share of camping and this site is awesome. There are so many activities to participate in such as kayaking, mini golf, various sports and fishing. The pool is a great size and we'll maintained. The campgrounds are very clean and spacious. The cabins are just right. The staff goes beyond and above to make everyone feel comfortable. This is an awesome place for families!

We are here now. Our site is extremely overgrown, nobody has mowed the grass in weeks. They had a DJ tonight and it was ok. It doesn't make up for loud neighbors and muddy dismal sites with loud neighbors. We have people tromping through our site at all hours. We have been to the Gettysburg KOA and it is a million times better than this dump. The pool is nice here but that's about it.

This is one of my favorite campgrounds. We have a 33ft class A and use full hookups. They are able to accommodate us easily here. I like the price to stay here. The price of full hookup camping at some places has gone up the last few years so I always like to point out bargains or simply places that are priced right. This place provides good value for the money. They have a nice playground for the kids along with plenty of open space for them to run. There is a well maintained pool as well. It's not an overly crowded campground. The campsites aren't squeezed down like some places have done, so you feel you have some space to spread out a little. The public restrooms are in decent shape, but could use a makeover and more toilets. But what they do have, they keep clean and that's a big bonus in my book.I give granite hill 5 stars for value alone. This is a nice campground that's worth the money.

We pulled in and it looked run down, overgrown and in need of an overhaul. The girls in the office were very nice. We get to out site, pull thru, and its not even close to level. Branches from the tree were resting on my camper. There was no place to move to on this site. I asked an employee if he could either trim or tie back a few branches and he didnt have the authority. Fire ring was nice but full to the top with ash and garbage. My wife and i asked about the pool....closed! Mini golf was in disrepair. We walked the grounds and couldnt find anything that would make this place a resort. Poison ivy everywhere, tennis/basketball court was a disaster. The only reason i gave 2 stars is because i spoke to 2 employees that were nice...this park has potential....butAvoid it, i wish i did.

I have to say my stay there the bathrooms were terrible you couldn't even see the bottom due to the commodes being disgusting where the cabins were the grass was up to my knees no hand soap at all in any of the bathrooms frogs in the pool and they were dead never cleaned out Beatles Galore a little girl was cleaning out the pool drainages on each side of the pool her mom told her to stop not well kept up and I know they need a lot of help as I can see and tlc to all of the bathrooms..

We stayed here in August 2022 Which was a huge mistake! We stayed in the back end of the campgrounds which was covered in knee high weeds and loaded with mosquitoes. Most sites didn t have numbers posted so you could find your assigned site. We didn t realize that we needed to pull forward and that another camper would pull up behind us. Management failed to advise us of these double sites. We had to drive our truck across a field to our site to park our truck. When we left it took us awhile to pull our 30ft travel across this overgrown mud field. The sites haven t had gravel poured in years and what was left was embedded in the ground. The roads are dirt and nothing has been done to upgrade this campground. Television isn t available and we used our cellphones for wifi.We ve camped for years and this would rate as one of the worst campgrounds that we have stayed at.
