Very disappointed in our first stay at Gettysburg Koa! Campground was not prepared for opening weekend.-Playground was hazardous for kids with sticks and branches all over the place. Un-Level sand.-Gem Mining unavailable as staff didn t know how to turn on.-Store Hours listed wrong on website and on signs throughout campground.-No weekend breakfast as noted on website and on various signs throughout campground.-Mini Golf not available and covered in leaves/sticks.Campground needs some work, but seems to have great potential. Don t think we will return.

The reason for 1 star is I called in regards to bringing a golf cart so I could get around because of my disability and was told No. Once we arrived we had to go to the office to check in so my daughter drove me down to the office, mind you I stood on her running board and held on to her support handle because I could not climb in her truck. We drive an RV and I was to sore to walk down there. It was then that they told me in the office that I could of brought my cart if I had a handicapped placard, this is after I called in and was told No. They also drove me back to our site on their cart which I did appreciate because their hill going up as well as the gravel makes it very difficult for walking when your have disabilities.Secondly, I have never seen a campground be so rude to our family, mind you we have at least 12 families in our group and many are military. On Thursday night around 6 people in our group were sitting by the fire at 10 o clock barely talking just enjoying the fire when the staff drove up and said they need to keep it down. They were harassed numerous times in regards to this and they weren t talking. There were four of us standing by the road two of which were seniors watching the fire and we were talking in a whisper and were told they were loud. We told them their not even talking and that we were standing there the whole time. We finally got tired of the harassment and went back to our campers. Let me not forget how they would come by in the dark driving their golf cart with no lights on as to catch us doing something (very dangerous)Then on top of this we were advised that we could not set up our clown display for the Halloween festivities which the campers love and look forward to. All the other campers were allowed, that s discrimination. A lot of our campers are vets and look forward to camping and to treat them in such a manner is despicable. If they don t want campers they need to sell to someone who does. Plus, you need to make it more accessible to the handicapped. We look to go camping to be with family and meet new friends not to be harassed. We treat all campgrounds with respect and look for the same treatment.

I knew as soon as we drove into this Campground that I picked a winner. It is very woodsy, cool, and shady. The office is so cute with a deck on the side that has picnic tables with umbrellas. The girls that checked me in were so friendly and sweet. The store has so much to choose from with plenty of essentials that you may need. The sites are pretty close together, but you still have a sense of privacy because of the way things are laid out. If you have kids bring them here because this place looks like so much fun. They have this fantastic little dog park too with a fire hydrant placed in the middle. There are poopy bags provided also. I can t say enough about this KOA. I have not stayed in one for years, and I kind of forgot how nice they were. I m glad I joined, and I am currently looking for locations near future destinations that I have planned. I highly recommend this campground. Especially if you came here to visit the Gettysburg, battle grounds, and such. It s a short drive to everything Gettysburg.Rooms: The cabins are spectacular. They even have porch swings!Nearby activities: Gettysburg!Noteworthy details: Modern, spacious and immaculately clean restrooms. Hot showers.

My family and I have come to this campground for years! There is a decent amount of campers/Rv s in our group. We are always respectful and participate in camp activities, purchase souvenirs from the gift shop, etc. However, this year the staff was not friendly and seemed to be singling out our group to make us not want to come back. The main reason I think this is because a comment was made by staff while paying our balance that they had a few groups they couldn t wait to get rid of and it didn t sit right with me.On several occasions during our stay staff was speeding around on their golf carts which was not only unprofessional, but dangerous! Children are playing and people are walking their dogs throughout the campground and the staff were not following their own posted speed limits. In the evenings we enjoy having a campfire and relaxing with family. We went to buy wood and were told they keep it in the back and would deliver it. I thought, that s great! So I ask how big it is so I know how many to buy. I was informed it was a large bundle that would burn for 2 hours. So I ordered 6 for $50. Once it was delivered they were the smallest bundles of wood I ve ever seen. Burned for maybe 30 min per each bundle. Then, staff continuously came to our campsites and told us it was quiet hours at 10 pm. We were not loud and simply sitting by the fire. They came over every 15 min or so and even started texting our phones and yelling down a hill at us to stop talking. It was clear they wanted us to go inside, and not just be quiet. Meanwhile other campers were outside being loud, talking, playing music, etc. but we watched staff drive right past them. Then, the next night, we saw staff driving up to our site with NO lights on their golfcart!! Extremely dangerous! They could have hit someone! They stopped at the site we were at the night before and sat there. Almost trying to be sneaky and catch us doing something. It s extremely disheartening that a campground would treat paying customers like this and push us out. Several other campers even noted the behavior of staff towards us and commented that it was hateful and they were experiencing issues as well, some even said their sites for next year were booked out to someone else even though they had the weekend to rebook their site! Very disappointed in KOA and we will not be back. This is NOT a campground for families. To recap:-Rude staff-Dangerous behavior by staff-Dirty bathrooms-False advertising on wood, very expensive

All around the best place to stay if you want to be amongst nature, if you have dogs, and/or don't want to stay in a hotel. We stay in the cabins...you're in the woods, among the trees, campfire every night, but sleep in a cozy cabin with A/C (if needed)...or leave the windows open to hear the chirping crickets. Our dogs are comfortable while we go to the Battlefield. Everyone is so friendly, you can walk around the campground, people say hello, stop and chat, or wave as you drive by. It's safe. There's a pool, laundry, breakfast cafe....really its like what more could you want?? We love it and make it a tradition to come once a year!

Love staying at this campground. Staff always go out of their way to help and it's obvious they put in efforts to make improvements. The new tents on the hill look amazing. Halloween weekend was enjoyable and the kids had a blast. Loved that they closed the roads to keep everyone safe during the trick-or-treat. Kind of miss the parade they used to do in the park but we still had a great time. I would like to just add though, it's disheartening to see some of the recent reviews before mine. I can say as someone staying maybe 5 sites down the hill, I have a good idea the two that mentioned golf carts and staff bothering them were the ones at the top of the hill in the corner. Let me assure anyone reading those reviews, that group was not sitting peacefully by the fire. Lots of drinking and carrying on the whole weekend. And they did have their own golf cart with colored lights on it. Which, isn't supposed to be allowed unless someone is disabled yet they most certainly had one so they got permission somehow. When I see all the quiet park reviews here, I know without a doubt after this weekend that it's because staff do their part to try and enforce quiet hours. (Starts a little early at 10pm I believe) I think the standing at the road comment was misleading too as they were across the way from me talking at the light pole. I do recall a golf cart coming by more than once asking those folks to not be so loud. There is no fire at the light pole so they weren't watching one that I could tell. These may not be the same folks, but I think I can put two and two together on the reviews and feel safe believing it was them. I did see a cart with no lights going around (as mentioned) but I just assumed they were trying to be respectful and not shine the headlights in everyones sites. I for one can't stand being blinded sitting at my fire when cars or trucks go by. I have also been to many KOA's that have security or gate people, and that seems to be common practice so for me it isn't really an alarming moment. The first time I saw it was in Seattle, but I could also see how folks could think that's dangerous. Although, this park does have street lights so it's not complete darkness either. I guess what I am saying is don't let a few peoples bad experience deter you from coming. We love this place and will continue to visit. Trust me when I say not all KOA's are ran equally and this one is gold standard compared to many others. Thanks for all the great memories and making our stay enjoyable. Oh, and those Smore's pancakes too! -J.P.

I think this is another favorite for us. Even though we were there over Labor Day weekend, we loved it! This was such a clean campground and very quiet. Our site was excellent. We didn't hear any road noise. The staff was very attentive to the needs of all campers. The kids at the campground seemed to be having a great time. There is so much for them to do. They had great activities for the kids and live music on Saturday. For the weekend, they had breakfast available. The bathrooms were very clean, and the showers were the cleanest of any KOA we have been to. We loved that they picked up your trash at your site. The pool was popular. They have a great area for your dog. You can tell they take pride in their campground. If we are ever back in this area, we will definitely be staying here. Thanks for a great weekend!!

Nosiest campground we've ever stayed at! Loud music, shouting people, shrieking kids, dogs barking and cars driving around constantly. We camp to enjoy mother nature, not possible here! Packed in like sardines and sites are difficult to get into. There is no sense of private space as you sit by your campfire. Wifi was horrible and not secure, which is one of the reasons we tend to chose KOA's. We would not recommend this KOA.

Second year in a row in the Deluxe Cabin with a Patio. This is probably one of the best KOA campgrounds I ever stayed in my whole life. I've been to many. The staff is over the top friendly. I had a situation with my son meeting us there and their car breaking down. When we checked out him and his gf had to wait for there ride from Jersey to pick them up. They didn't mind them waiting at all. They even let them play a game a mini golf while they waited. Which gave this mom a sense of relief to know they were safe. Even at 20 I still worry. We will definitely be back again next June!!! Excellent

I stayed here at a tent site for three days and it was wonderful. I rode my E-bicycle over 70 miles to reach it and when I did, I couldn't have been happier with the site and the staff. Everything that I couldn't bring with me they had available at their store, so I wasn't missing out on anything. I'm wishing that I was still there now! I met other campers that were all in a good mood, I am very much looking forward to camping here again.

Campground staff and facilities were fantastic. Our site was extremely small, with the fire fit in a place that made it so it was not usable. The breakers for the electric were either extremely old and need to be replaced or not the correct amps. We blew the 30 Amp breaker on the box three times during our stay. I have never had this problem anywhere else, even while pulling more demand. The campground trees are also under assault from emerald ash boarer, and many are to the point they need to be removed

Staff is very attentive. Very cozy park and clean. If you are disabled you will have quite a journey to use the laundry . You have to negotiate a path, climb stairs and then go around to the back of the store to find it.Nearby activities: Gettysburg is within minutes.Food & drinks: For sale

Such a great campground, facilities clean and well manicured by a super friendly staff! The campground concierge was waiting for us when we arrived took us directly to our site and helped get straight into the spot. Site was level and clean, he gave me the option to ride back with him or come down after we were settled. No question one of the nicest campgrounds we have been to, great experience from the start!

Halloween weekend! The best! Back again July 2023. Still awesome! Return visits are always awesome. I stay with my family, when I'm in town. We use the lodge with bathroom in the shower right there. Kitchen is great for backup cooking. We love to cook on the fire. All we bring our linens. Everything else is provided. The owners and staff are thoughtful and care about the quality of the campground and your experience. My favorite place.Rooms: Kabins, lodges, and Basic Kabins, are our favorites. Tent sites are convenient and smoothe with the tent pads.Nearby activities: Plenty to do nearby by. We took the two hours horseback riding tour of the battlefield from the horse rescue group.Safety: Staff are there to help and keep a eye out late at night.Walkability: Gravel roads make for a nice walk throughout the campgroundFood & drinks: Camp store has food and supplies. Soft serve ice cream, coffee, and weekend breakfast if you want a break from cooking.Noteworthy details: Clean, always clean! Beautiful tree laden sites.

If you like walnuts falling from the trees and damaging your vehicle this is the campsite for you. If you decide to stay, make sure you park your car offsite. Otherwise it is a decent campsite.

This is the BEST KOA and I've stayed at a bunch. First of all, the place is wooded, so you're not baking in an open field in the sun. Second, it is clean and well-maintained. The new porch on the camp store / office building is gorgeous. The bathrooms are very clean. Even their basic cabin includes a mini fridge. I come there 2-3 times per year and the staff is extremely friendly. it's a few miles from town which is nice because you don't have the noise / crowds.

We absolutely love this campground! They were there to greet us as soon as we pulled in the driveway and led us to our campsite. The staff was absolutely wonderful and answered all of our questions about touring Gettysburg. They had maps and were even able to set up the actual tours. They have a wonderful store where we loaded up on souvenirs, gifts and food. The camp site itself was spacious and woodsy Which we love! We will definitely recommend this campground to family and friends and we will stay there again if we are in that area!

We spent another Labor Day weekend here and truly love this campground. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We had breakfast there one morning as we normally do and it was delicious. i had the cinnamon roll pancakes for the first time and they were AWESOME. And as always, there's tons to do at the campground and in the Gettysburg area.
