It's hard to believe these reviews are from the same shop my husband has been dealing with. About 8+ months ago we decided to get the transmission rebuilt in our Denali, brought it to this shop and they gladly accepted the job and our 3k. Since then my husband has picked up the completed truck 5x's. Each time it BROKE down on the highway the NEXT DAY - transmissions completey blown. He has brought the truck back numerous times, with more patience then they deserve, and has yet to be offered a dollar back (at this point he deserves a full refund). They don't even have the decency to call him back when they say they are going to or when the truck is done (last time they had our truck for 3 weeks without one phone call - yet they said it would be fixed in a week - super unprofessional) . He has now missed work 2 days unplanned because of breaking down on the road, sat on the side of the highway for 10+ hours waiting (patience of a saint) on their slow tow service just for the same thing to happen AGAIN today for a sixth time. I am beyond livid. There is no way they know what they are doing. I would never recommend this place - in fact, I would go out of my to not recommend them!!!!!!!

Maxs son manages the business.he's a good kid.looks out for his families business.they do not cut corners.and back thier work.i had the pleasure of chatting w.his mom also.what I needed she took care of.no questions or reason why asked.they do what thier paid to do.first noticed them in 94'.when they opened.

Andrew, wow the guys great. Troubleshooting skills are greater. With the help of his crew they resolved a problem in my Jeep TJNo one else could figure out. Yea I would put my money on MAXS TRANSMISSION repair any day. Can't thank them enough O&O.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

As a building maintenance contractor, I've had more than a few experiences with various transmission shops. They often left a sour taste in my mouth that I was overpaying for work that wasn't defined as absolutely necessary.Max's transmission shop on Hook road in folcroft PA is absolutely, and without question the only place that I will ever go for transmission work ever again The man is honorable beyond question, and he makes sure to explain to me what work had to be done and what didn't and charge me considerably less than the rip-off guys!CONTACT ANDREW AT MAX,'S TRANSMISSION REPAIR AND YOU WILL KNOW RIGHT AWAY YU OU WENT TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Highly recommend A++++++++. Andrew is honest, amazing , everything you look for in a mechanic. Andrew diagnosed the problems in my 2004 Nissan quest which other mechanics could not saving me several hundred dollars for need of getting new Transmission. My transmission went down around February 2022, and i spent over a year going to different transmission shops and mechanics and making phone calls for estimates every single mechanic told me i needed a rebuilt transmission that mine wasn t able to be saved and i would have to spend thousands of dollars to get a new one! This was about 15-20 mechanics. My dad found max s transmission in March 2023 for me, and the mechanic there was super nice he got us right in right away he hooked up his transmission machine to my car right in front of us and told us the problem and the cost with in 5 mins! Every other mechanic would make me leave my car with them to see what the problem was for days at a time and they would never give me a print out of a report or anything they would just say i need a new trans !! Turns out i didn t need a rebuilt transmission i just needed a part in the trans which is the transmission control module, no other mechanic ever even mentioned just replacing a part as the answer, this whole time and it was for a quarter of the thousands i would of had to spend like every other mechanic was telling me! Max s transmission was the only honest transmission shop i came to who was honest, affordable and fast ! Had my car done in 3 days ! And it also came with a great warranty ! i would highly recommend these guys for any and all transmission needs them guys there are honest ! And my car runs great now i can t thank the mechanic that helped me enough! Thank you max s transmission !Service: Transmission

Great prices and great work on my truck got my truck back in 3-4 day s did my transmission and a few other things on it I would recommend people to go here for work on there cars

Do not take your car here. I took my car here for a broke transmission. First it sat for 3mths. Yes there was a medical emergency and the car was the last thing on mind but at no time did they call and tell us there was a problem with the warranty company. When we finally called they said the warrent company couldn't process claim becouse the number Max's had wasn't same as number on policy. The warranty company said not true. Never had anyone call about car. Whatever, we dropped ball too so we will accept blame for that.Well after the claim was approved Max said they were putting new rebuild trans in. . Took over a week. Our car had issue so when it was finished took to our mechanic. He said blown head gasket. Warrent place said take to Aamco.Well as soon as they put on lift they saw crack in trans and looked like JBWeld was used to try to fix.Well of course I'm confused because it was drven 5 miles since "new" trans was installed!! So that means Max charged for a rebuild trans and just slapped weld on it . Or maybe they did put rebuild one in and saw the crack and decided instead of doing the right thing and replacing they tried to hide it.Crooks!!!!Service: Transmission

Got my transmission done here.. prices are the best in town many other shops charged waaayyy more to rebuild my transmission.. I put a piece towards my transmission and they gave me a discount towards it and my van is still running no problems . ( Knock on Wood)

Definitely will be back the andrew and his crew did a great job ony blue 07 Durango at first I thought I was gonna still have a problem cuz it was still leaking oil I guess I had to let it fully dry and it's holding up great job well done you will hear from me again and I'll definitely wil be sending out recommendationsService: TransmissionService: Transmission

Would give Max s Transmission a 10/10 if I could. Clutch was slippin on my Hyundai Elantra, and Andrew kept me updated until the day I picked it up. Car felt so factory set, I stalled on the way out lol. It don t get better than that

Took 2 days to finish the job....they removed the lug nuts from tires, two broke off and replaced them with some rusty ones... won't be back here and won't recommend to anyone

NOT A GOOD JOB ON OTHER ISSUES WITH PUTTING BACK 'OIL PANS,TRANSMISSION LINES,ETC... POOR ATTENTION TO PUTTING YOUR CAR BACK TO ITS FORM! TOO EXPENSIVE FOR SUCH LACK OF ATTENTION TO DETAIL ON PUTTING ONE'S VEHICLE BACK IN ORDER!
