Decided to try this place based on the reviews & it did not disappoint. Took my car in for inspection, emissions testing, and an oil change. The work was done quickly and the owner was extremely friendly & knowledgeable. No finding problems that weren t there or up selling in any way. I found my new mechanic & will be going back shortly for new tires. Thanks again!

We have been searching for a mechanic we can trust to offer decent rates for excellent service and they have exceeded our expectations! My husband usually handles everything but they were kind and welcoming to me when I came for pick up. It honestly felt like visiting an old friend. We were seen the same day as our appointment and it was done that day (with cars this isn t always possible) but it was so different from having to wait a week or more. They were upfront with everything and did an awesome job. My tire key thing was trapped in my broken glove box and I said he could just break it if he needed to, he not only got it out but was able to close the box again and didn t charge me extra for the hassle. We have truly found a great team! Thanks guys!

Outstanding service on my Cadillac CTS. Everyone was friendly and extremely helpful. This is the part that will keep me coming back as long as they are open. While talking about the next service and what my plans are with the car he told me about things that should always be done at the dealer with OEM. (fluids particularly) This was new to me and because I was curious he took the time to explain it to me and it made total sense. The big deal for me it that he sent me somewhere else to get this done the best way possible, not the way that would make him more money. That's worth a mountain of gold to me. As soon as I finish this CTS up I'm getting another project car, maybe something that needs a BIG SWAP, and Big Dog Auto is going to help me from start to finish this time. Outstanding service and information. 100/10 recommend! James has taken such amazing care of any car issues. He is always honest, fair and you can really tell how much he cares about his customers. Never have I had someone willing to go above and beyond for their customers. He has reasonable pricing and works in a timely fashion! I will definitely go back to Big Dog Auto! Since my old mechanic closed his doors I have been in search of a new mechanic. You know its hard to find someone you can trust in this field. I dont know if it was luck or if it was destined but I came across Big Dogs during my search. Can i tell you that I AM MORE THAN HAPPY that I did. James and his crew are super nice plus professional.... knowledgeable and honest. I have been there twice so far. Once for my starter last month, which he had done in 4 hrs, and now for my inspection. He is great on his time AND his word. He also is VERY fair as far as his prices go. I am lucky to have found such a trustworthy mechanic. James and Big Dog Auto have earned my trust and my business for many years to come and will be recommended by me whenever anyone asks. Keep up the good work guys!!!

I needed a last minute inspection/emissions along with a light replaced and oil change. They got me in and done very fast and on time. James was extremely courteous and friendly. He called me back right away when I left a message. Everything cost a little less than I was expecting to pay. They also had a secure lock box to drop keys off the night before. Hands down THE best, most honest auto mechanic in our area. James was a pleasure to work with and broke down to my level of understanding what seemed to be an extremely complicated breaks issue. He is a great communicator who kept me informed along the way, and he went above and beyond in terms of service. Most notably, the final bill stayed true to the original estimate despite a few extra services that required servicing before all was said and done. I found James to be extremely knowledgeable about auto mechanics, flexible with his schedule, patient when asked questions, and detail oriented in his responses. I am the owner of Fresh Paws Spa a mobile dog grooming company. When my A/C in the working unit of the van kept freezing up, they took the time to figure out what the problem was. The communication was great. He fixed it just enough that I could keep working till the part came in. He stopped everything to get my van in and fixed. I would recommend these guys to everyone. Belated review. I found Big Dog through Google reviews, and he lived up to the "hype." I felt well-informed. James had patience and forthright customer service in his care for me and my car. He went above and beyond in helping to find solutions even when it didn't immediately benefit him. He made sure to explain options so I could make the best informed decision. I will not hesitate to trust other family vehicles to Bid God when I need them looked at.

I chose this shop because of the reviews and the reviews did not let me down. James is very kind and takes the time to explain what he needs to do whether repairing or inspecting your car. When my muffler was messed up he got me in same day so more damage wouldn't be done to the muffler and even fixed it same day. I am very glad to have found Big Dog Auto and will be continuing to go here!

No one likes the expense of car repair, the inconvenience of being without your car while it's being fixed or the unease of feeling at the mercy of someone who knows more than you. James gets all that. He went to great lengths to explain everything and put me at ease, to deliver the value I needed and to finish the job in a timely manner. He was able to fit me in with short notice, he was very professional and polite. He even came in when the shop was closed so that I could pick up my car. I'd recommend them. Tonight on our way home my car got a flat tire. Big Dog Auto is on my way. I swung in and just stopped to see if we could get some help. James and his co-worker patched my tire right away. NO CHARGE, this was honestly the nicest thing any mechanic has ever done for me! I would recommend them to anyone! Just want to say a HUGE THANK YOU! It was greatly appreciated!!!

They were able to slide me in for a car inspection. Had no trouble with handing my car off or getting it back. I also found a mysterious $10 discount on the bill. Great local service. Thanks guys!

I've been taking my car here for about two years now. The owner is very friendly and will do his best to accomodate you. My car unexpectedly needed to be looked at before an upcoming roadtrip, they got me in and had my car fixed the next day.

Our van s AC unit went out as we travelled from Canada back to North Carolina on July 3rd. I called the first name I found on line, Big Dog Auto. James helped us and came in on the 4th of July because he didn t want to see us stranded on the road. What an awesome guy and evidence that GREAT people are still out there. One word...Honest. They are the most honest and upfront people you will ever meet! They are not going to quote you on things you don't need just to make a buck. There is no other shop around that I would trust more! James and his guys are the greatest! I can not say enough about how great and knowledgeable they are at Big Dog. I brought in my GMC Envoy to have my AC repaired. It never worked from the time I got it, and had a major leak. They quickly tracked down the leak, ordered the parts needed to do the repair, and I had my car back with ice cold AC. They took the time to go over my entire system to ensure the compressor and all of the other components were working properly. And at less than 1/2 of what I expected the bill to be. I highly recommend them to anyone with an AC problem. They will treat you right, and not break your wallet!

I would definitely recommend them. I needed to get my car inspection asap! I had other places in the area telling it was a two week wait. They were able to fit me into their schedule. They were very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely use them again.
