This is our second year. We stay a full week each time. We drive five hours and 15 minutes for spot 34. This is electric/water hookup. We bring a rhino hookup for easy dumping of black water by the office. This campground is by far the best and we love it. Extremely well run. Check in and out is very well set up. Gate access is fantastic. Great pool with large walk down steps and goes from 3-5 foot gradually.Small camp store that is well stocked. Weekend activities (this year it was bingo and two live bands). Free Hey Rides on Saturdays at 3.Relaxed atmosphere. We had 5 sites total betwen all the family that came down and it was amazing.Clean campground with a great feel for the country setting. All pictures were within 50 feet of our site.

Because I travel full time, my family and I stayed for a full month. The campground could have more RV spots for campers but its okay. The weekends here get BUSY! But the weekdays are very quiet .They don't have any bathroom facilities except for the outhouses near the pool. No bath houses also means no showers unless you have an RV or happen to know one of the annual site members. The pool is nice! Only 5ft deep so great for the kids, there are two playgrounds one big one and the other is about half the size. They have an off leash dog area and this place is very dog friendly. You're literally across the street from Cooks forest so if you are planning on visiting the forest or staying for a week or two, this was a great place. All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Tracie does a great job of making everyone feel welcome. I would definitely recommend this camp ground to anyone looking to stay in Cooks forest/Cooksburg.

Spent a little over a week here. Everyone we met was friendly. Had a great time swimming. Nice laundry facility, small game room kept us busy while we were doing laundry, played some put put too. Nice little store. Lots to do in the area!!!

We have been here permanently now for several years. We love it here. Upgraded wifi and pool is awesome, best compared to any other place we have been. Everyone is always friendly and helpful. Pet friendly dog park is a bonus, our Lucy loves it.

Was disappointed in the site being unleveled, many sites appeared this way. I didn t like that when I sat outside I could see the neighbors directly behind me, meaning the campers weren t directly behind each other they were off a bit.No Wi-Fi unless you wanted to pay by the day, 3 days or a week. I decided against it because if it were anything like their cable it sucked!Nice play ground & pool for the kids which is a plus. The state forest was close so that s a plus as well but that s all that was.The restaurants nearby were so overpriced no hamburger is worth $15!My suggestion is look for camping at the state park or find another one close by.

Bye far the best campground and experience we have had camping in the last 15 years. VERY well kept and clean campground. From reservations to checking in all was very pleasing. Linda at the front store was a great help. So nice to see someone takes pride in there place and making our stay a wonderful experience. No litter anywhere, all sites well kept. The grass was mowed and weed eating done!!! Staying 3 nights and enjoying Cooks Forest. We were on site 421 and felt we had the whole place to ourself. Great job, we will return. Gary

Service dog people be careful they don't except Service dog. They told us to never bring our dog. He is a service dog the 2 that had Marks came over and never ask to touch him and was playing with him. Also the pool was to be heated and was cold as he'll. No shower rooms, no bathrooms except 2 Porter John's throw the whole campground. And the first thing they ask u when u bring a dog is it a Rottweiler or Pitbull. The owner hate them dogs. NOT ALOUD

We had a wonderful Labor Day weekend at Deer Meadow. Everyone was very friendly and it s very well kept. The kids enjoyed the playground, mini golf, pool and DJ. The sites are a little tight, next year we will get a pull thru spot for the extra space. But honestly our neighbors were all very nice so it wasn t a big deal being so close. Looking forward to next year!

We have been camping here for almost 20 years. The owners are always updating the campsites and the facilities. They are very personable people and make sure all campers have a great/safe time. We love the camping in the woods feel here! The owners have rules and they are consistent with them, which are fine, it helps make our stay here a relaxing time which is what we get away to camp for! Thanks Deer Meadow Campground!

I stayed there last weekend for the first time. And although it does seem very nice from the outside the owner was very rude to me and my guests. She accused us of lying to her and trying to get extra people to stay. Nobody was staying but me and my fiance. It really seems to me they don't care much about weekenders. Because we spoke to the few of them that were around us and they all said the same thing. Even the canoe rental place told us they hear bad things about that place all the time. I would definitely look for somewhere else.

Been camping here for about 19 years now & have met/made many people/friends from all over. Yes they have rules that are enforced, which makes this a SAFE campground. There is a lot to do in & around the campground. All activities & functions in & around the pavilion are FREE to all campers. Still the cheapest price around for seasonal sites. Want a CLEAN SAFE FRIENDLY CAMPGROUND --- COME HERE!!

My whole family has been camping there for 30+ years and we've made so many wonderful memories. However, I was disappointed to learn that they no longer allow tent camping. I have nothing bad to say about the campground itself - it's certainly a family friendly place. I can only hope that someday they'll again decide to accommodate those of us who like the simplicity of sleeping in a tent.

Stayed there as a guest for 2 nights. While it is kept clean, there are many rules and it seems like you can't have much fun. There isn't much to do except swim in the very nice pool that closes at 6pm, which is absurd. If you enjoy a very slow and boring get-away, this is the place for you. The owners run it more like a retirement community than a campground.

We do have rules so everyone has a safe, fun family camping experience. Please be advised the 2 negative reviews are from one family that chose to ignore our rules, which made it unsafe for children and uncomfortable for adults. They were asked to leave the campground permanently. As for the review from 6 years ago, I believe they were talking about another campground because we never close our bathhouses!

We happened to be in right place at the right time. With a park model needing 50 amp service our options were limited. What a find! This campground has rules and are enforced, which offers safety, quiet time and quality neighbors. We are all there for the relaxation, fresh air and mountains. Any problems that are encountered have been promptly addressed. All of this and more at a fair cost. Great place. Sandy and Mike

My Wife & I, Along w/ some Friends, went camping at The "DEER MEADOW CAMPGROUND" in "COOK'S FOREST". We went up there about 15 Years Ago & We ALL had a FANTASTIC time. The OPEN Spaces & the SPACIOUS Campsites was OUT OF This world. The SHOWERS & the BATHROOMS were ALWAYS Clean & there was ALWAYS HOT Water Available for ALL Campers. EACH Site had electrical outlets & water hookups. There was a BIG Playground for the kids & there was a NICE Swimming Pool too. There was a NEARBY Lake for ALL LICENSED Fishermen & Women. You Also had a FULLY STOCKED Camp Convenience Store & a Really NICE Gameroom for Every Camper's USE. I Understand that The "DEER MEADOW CAMPGROUND" has become More Popular Today than when WE went up there Years Ago.

Expensive not weekender friendly. Extra charges for everything - $10 per night for pull through sites, $4 a day for limited internet. No public restrooms -They seem to only want thier permanent campers - which seems like they rule the place, I realize that's guaranteed $$$ but some really need to clean up thier sites. Just a shame to see this campground so empty-I remember having to call a month in advance to get a site here - they have made so many rules and added so many additional charges and have over priced themselves for what they have to offer. On the plus side the staff was friendly, and they have a nice playground.

No public bathroom. Very expensive to stay. Doesn't even offer free wifi it's an additional 4 dollars a day. They care mainly about permanent sites and not weekenders. Many of their permanent sites need cleaned up, they look very junked up.
