Our experience at Hunter s Garage was great! We were stranded on the side of the highway on a Sunday night. AAA told us they d tow us to Clearfield, where a local garage (Hunter s) could help us the next morning.Hunters was able to take a look at the car first thing. Lexi, who helped us at the front desk, was a pleasure to work with and kept us updated throughout the process. Diagnostics took about an hour, and we were presented with clear outcomes, recommendations, and expected costs.Everything felt very transparent, so we signed off on the repair and went for a nice walk on the nearby trail while the technicians completed the work. The whole thing was done in around two hours, and we left feeling great about the whole thing.Highly recommend Hunter s garage! If we were local, they would be our go-to!

I've been to Hunter's multiple times. The cost & time for the services are presented in writing up front for approval. The work starts soon after I arrive there. If any additional issues are detected during the authorized work, I'm presented with the cost & time up front. I have the chance to authorize the additional repairs.All my past visits have been very positive.

Hunter's Garage has the same excellence in customer service that I experienced when I bought mt truck brand new at a Honda dealership showroom. The staff are very polite, professional, and knowledgeable.My situation involved my truck losing transmission fluid and power while driving, so I pulled off the road and contacted a towing service to take my truck to Hunter's Garage. The staff from the beginning all the way through to the pick up after repairs were completed, kept in contact with me to keep me informed by phone and text messages. The information provided included a full inspection report of my vehicle, pictures of the vehicle issues, and easy to understand descriptions of the issues. I was even able to approve or decline which repairs were authorized for them to do the work. This gave me confidence that they really wanted to do a good job and ensure I had an good experience in using their service for the first time.I can't say enough about everyone that I spoke to. They put me at ease even during this stressful time when I anticipated the worst thinking I may have ruined my transmission. Fortunately this didn't happen and I'm very happy with the results and my experience at Hunter's Garage.

Hunters Garage provided a professional and friendly atmosphere and by far the best I ve been to. They had a high level of professionalism, organization, and cleanliness. A lot of shops are missing that around here. I called Thursday and was able to get an appt the next day for an oil change. Lexi was very friendly and helpful. I was in and out in under an hour. I ll be returning for my next oil change.

READ THIS REVIEW: Hunter's garage is a must for vehicle repairs. We found ourselves 3 hours from home with a potential transmission issue. We pulled in at 8am hoping the staff could squeeze us in...they went above and beyond. Not only did they look over the entire vehicle, they also gave us a very detailed synopsis with options. We are not from this area. While we waited for our vehicle to be serviced, the owner , Doug, drove us to a diner for breakfast and then picked us up afterwards. Alexis....where do I begin. Her customer service and smile is a breath of fresh air in a society that seems to have given up on kindness at times. When you visit, don't forget to see Daphne and Sasha. They greeted us with wagging tails:). This is a family business that has been around for 28 years. Thank you, Hunters Garage, for taking such good care of us. We have even talked about making a day trip to have our vehicles serviced here.

Super friendly, super quick & efficient. Everything here is explained well to the customer. You have a voice, aren't dismissed and the turnaround time is fantastic. I appreciate the help during my last visit here and will definitely continue to use in the future. 110% recommended.

This is a great garage. They have friendly staff, clean waiting rooms, and go the extra mile to take care of your vehicle while it s in their hands. They get me in the schedule with my limited availability rather quickly, they take the time to discuss what they find with you and print out reports and send them to your phone so you stay in the know and in control of your car and wallet s future! They are upfront with estimates, and the whole experience is quite professional and straight forward. I am happy to find a place to take my vehicles without the headache of dealing with other shops!

Great experience here. They replaced my water pump and serpentine belt and service our cooking system as well as an oil change. Super honest, great work, quick turn around! Can't recommend them enough!

After going to Hunters Garage for my vehicles I will not go anywhere else. They are organized and go above and beyond in helping with not only the issue I took it in for but diagnosing other issues and bringing them to your attention. The print outs are really an asset in showing and explaining each item. Staff is very nice too!

Had a bad experience with another garage as they couldn't find the root of the problem with my truck. Made a good decision to have my truck towed to Hunters. They got to the root of the problem and fixed it swiftly. So glad I made that decision!! Thank you Hunters.

Quick n easy all the way. My Jeep was picked up at my home with a smile for an oil change and tire rotation and was delivered back to me when the job was done. Absolutely 100% satisfied as always.The entire staff at Hunters is top notch! Always very friendly and knowledgeable. They treat you like family and you re always greeted with a smile . They are the best and I wouldn t go anywhere else! Thank you again.

Stranded in the middle of Pennsylvania with a dead car the afternoon before Thanksgiving!!! Lexie, my angel, polite and most helpful. We were so fortunate to find this very professional garage, who treated us as if we were their only customers, and fixed our car as soon as possible.Communicated constantly and clearly daily.The facility was super clean, and waiting area equipped with snacks and drinks.I cannot say enough about everything and everyone involved. It was very stressful for me and they truly were a godsend!Go Hunters!!!

Had my van breakdown on a trip between Maryland and Ohio. Ended up finding Hunter's Garage online as the closest shop to the hote we were at. They were able to get our van in first thing in the morning and replace the alternator. They also identified some other problems that the van had. Knowing that we were in a hurry to get on the road, they took care of the most pressing issues and got us on the road before we had to check out of the hotel for the day. We were on the road by noon and able to take care of the rest of the repairs once we arrived in Ohio.

Had my truck in for a variable valve actuator motor issue. I chose Hunters because of their location in Clearfield rather than having it towed to the State College dealership. Hunters was responsive and the quality of the repair was top notch. I only withheld the 5-star rating because of three things: 1. They charged me an hour of diagnostic time to tell me exactly what I had told them in the service request. 2. They did not do the advanced diagnostics on the day they quoted they would due to staffing issues. 3. The overall cost was much higher and took much longer than I was expecting. This 3rd comment is relative, as it still would have been cheaper than the dealership.Overall impressed with the service and competency of the shop. Glad to have them in town and glad to have my truck back on the road. Thanks guys!

The service at Hunter's Garage is excellent. They are very thorough. I will be taking my car there regularly. I feel that they will do everything that needs to be done to maintain it and it's best optimal running condition.

A very welcoming experience .Easy to find except for me . I am not a morning person .I got lost ( my dumbness )The staff was forgiving and I was laughing at myself .The staff all spoke and smiled when they caught your eye .They answered my questions and informed me of their history and how long they have been in business . I highly recommend Hunter's Garage !My experience :Good conversation and no pressure sales .Even the two dogs in the office area greeted you from behind the counter .Hunter's Garage is Clean , has good lighting , a wide- opened customer waiting area with seating . Snacksand a coffee/beverage machine was available along with information about their different levels of service .In addition they offered financing if you needed that help.The bathroom was clean too.I had called to get the oil changed and had asked if they could also replace the rotors and brakes too. Once they checked to make sure they could get the parts, I was presented with a printout of the cost .I was informed about their different levels of membership care and the perks .I took advantage of the valet service to take me home while they worked on my vehicle . I got picked up when the work was done . Free of charge ! I was shuttled in a clean car too .ImpressiveBack at home by text, I received pictures and a list of what the people in the garage had found inspecting and looking over the SUV .This lead to them discovering I needed to replace the air filter .They added coolant as well since that level was low ( no charge ).I had to approve the added quote to replace the air filter .They updated me on the progress of replacing all four brakes and all four rotors , changing the oil and the add on of replacing the air filter.I received a text when the work was done and the estimated time I would be picked up to return to the garage and pay my bill and get my SUV back .I definitely will take my vehicle back to Hunter's Garage .Great atmosphere, professional , clean , and respectful.I sensed they appreciated my business .This was a welcomed surprise in this Era of trying to get work done at other businesses and feeling like my business was not appreciated. No one at Hunter's Garage was trying to talk to me while they were also talking on their cell phones .I felt they respected me, the customer .Smiles are contagious .Being able to get all the repairs done the same day was a big relief . Awesome !You may actually enjoy getting your vehicle repaired again like in the past when you could trust more .What I learned :Need your vehicle repaired ?Do yourself a favor and check out Hunter's Garage !

I have seen their billboards for a long time. We had used another garage in Clearfield for many years but the owner retired and we decided to try Hunters. We drive Volvos and now the closest dealer is 2 hours away. I took my XC90 in because my brakes were grinding. I stopped in and first thing I was greeted with a smile. Cindy is so friendly and got me in first thing the next morning for a no charge brake check. First thing that morning I went and sat in the waiting area. Very clean, including the bathroom. Their daughter Lexi who I recognized from one of their older billboards, gave me an estimate along with a printout including pictures of the damaged rotors. It is a family run business. Cindy is Doug Hunter s wife and in addition to Lexi, their other daughter Jasmine works there as well. They ordered the parts and had me back in 2 days. They pick up and deliver within 5 miles. Even though they were going to pick up my vehicle I was up early so I went over. Their employee John dropped me back at home and when done brought my vehicle back. They drive a couple Volvo s as well and it makes me feel better that they work on them because not everyone does. They are a wonderful family, local, easy to deal with and I am very pleased with their work. I had an estimate over the phone from Volvo and Hunter s price was much better. I m sure there are less expensive shops in town but you get what you pay for and Hunter s Garage is where I will be going from now on.12/10/2023 - Went back this week for tire rotation and state inspection. Went in and again, greeted by Lexi s friendly face. Received a text when ready. Went back to pick up and Cindy talked Volvos with me for a bit. No complaints what so ever.Service: Brake service & repair

This was my first visit to Hunters Crauge. I was impressed to say the least. It is a very professional operation but with the personal touch you come to expect in a small home town atmosphere. The waiting area and restrooms were spotless and very well appointed. The amenities you would expect from a large band name dealer were not overlooked in the waiting area. The prices were reasonable and in line with other facilities in the area. I am pleased to have found a dependable place to take my Winniebago motorhome for service and inspection. And Yes I will go back. And yes I would recommend this business.

We travel and only get back to our home in Clearfield, PA a couple times a year. Our inspection was overdue by about 10 days. Hunter's got us right in to take care of the inspection. Their "Customer Service" is above all others. They will pick-up, deliver, and bend over backwards to support their customers. Not-to-mention, their service is speedy, thorough, and priced fair.THANK YOU, HUNTER'S!

From the first-call when I inquired as to whether I could have our 2017 Nissan Pathfinder towed to Hunter's to the moment my wife picked it back up several days later after all the (unfortunate) work was completed, we have been OVERWHELMINGLY pleased with everything about Hunter's Garage!The communication. The professionalism. The real-talk I got to have with the mechanic when I wasn't sure if I knew enough about what was being presented. All of it was top-notch.Hunter's is an incredible blessing to our family and to this community. I am thankful we have their family-run business in our "arsenal" now!

I just relocated from NYC suburbs to Clearfield. Extremely impressed with the fast and great service. I am getting better gas mileage and car is running so much better. This gives me peace of mind to know that there is such a great shop for all my mechanical needs.
