Sams Auto Sales and Service is one of those rare small-town gems that makes living in a rural community so special. Henley (the owner) is THE best auto mechanic in Clarion county. Although he works on all types of car, his specialty is Audi's. He owns several and has all of the tools to do any mechanical work necessary. People come from far and wide for his Audi expertise.But Henley also works on more pedestrian cars (like the 12-year-old Hyundai that I own). He is always willing to try to fix even the most obscure problem (like a transfer case seal leak) and does so at very reasonable prices.Henley understands cars and fixes them better than anyone else within 75 miles. And he is always willing to try to save the customer repair dollars. When my daughter had a clutzy mechanic break the bolts holding the radiator in her Pontiac Vibe, Henley spent the better part of a day drilling out the old bolt (from the plastic radiator) and fashioning a replacement. Were it not for Henley, I'd have had to replace the entire radiator. Ouch.My family drives cars back to Sam's, thousands of miles, so Henley can work on them. He is that good.

My girlfriend and I were driving home to Brooklyn from a wedding in western PA on a Sunday when one of the fittings connecting our coolant lines to the rear heater broke. We called a half dozen mechanics (all closed!) before trying Sam's. Sam's was also closed, but Henley picked up and offered to take a look.Long story short, Henley spent an hour first trying to find a part, then MacGyver a solution for us. He eventually closed off the lines with a new tube, circumventing the faulty fitting and getting us back on the road again. We would have been in real trouble were it not for Henley's generous service.I can't recommend Henley & this shop enough; he really took care of us when we got ourselves into a pickle, and was all the while generous, fair, and professional.
