We we re disappointed with this KOA. It could be a really nice location, but the campground is run down. We spent one night and had no power due to a storm that passed through. Not the owners fault. The owners are very nice. I was looking for a site I could plug in a night light to let me know when the power got restored, when I opened one receptacle the whole outlet was full of ants and ant eggs. That site hasn t been used for a long time. A lot of the sites haven t been used. I m sure they are full also. Not just the electrical box but where the prongs of the plug go we re full of ant eggs.I hope the owners check and spend sometime at each site and make them safe and clean. The electric pedestals need to be replaced.

This will be my second year fall camping at this KOA. Great place to get away for a weekend especially when I leaves are changing! Staff was extremely friendly and very pleasant this year and last (I only stayed one weekend and it felt like they knew me this year). Some of the sites can be challenging to a new driver, but staff is always more than happy to help get you setup. I would highly recommend as it s family friendly and all around a good time.

Horrible. I thought the older woman running the place was just down right nasty and not welcoming at ALL. Cabin felt like I was in an overflow backyard, not a campsite. Tried to email them to cancel a single night and their email doesn't work and that's my fault and wouldn't refund the night didn't want. IMPOSSIBLE to find your way around at night to the cabin with your car driving around. NOT a KOA experience from the minute walked in the door. Try something else in the area, I'm telling you, you will be MUCH happier. I paid $160 and didn't stay EITHER night was so upset with the experience. HORRIBLE!!!!!

I really wish I would have taken the negative reviews more seriously. I have a family of 4. I am the one in charge of researching and making our reservations whenever we go on vacation or weekend trips. I was so disappointed in our campsite upon arrival. No shade, trees or privacy for the tent campers. You re basically in a field. So even though we planned to tent camp we ended up in a cabin for the sake of being in the woods. The cabin site was also disappointing. My 7 year old sprained his ankle because of all the tree roots and rocks on the site. It s just dangerous. The bathrooms were disgusting. We made the best of it but please don t camp here if your a family looking for a good experience.

Truly enjoyed my experience at this campground. Wonderfully wooded, quiet and peaceful. Butterflies, birds, chipmunk and more. Sites can be tight with big rigs, but we don't have one so we didn't have problems. Staff was wonderful and sweet. Very accommodating. The area has beautiful scenery and outdoor activities. Mostly no wifi or cell, which was actually a bonus to get away from it all. We will definitely return.

Arrived there and went to check in the staff was very unfriendly. No communication at all. The campsite was muddy and in need of gravel. When we mentioned about a campsite, being muddy and needed gravel, they acted very offended. We had to leave a day early and requested a refund and ANN refused. I would not recommend camping at this KOA. Very disappointed in this KOA. They Need to have someone come and check it out. It s in need of repair. The bathrooms are horrendous. Looks like they have never been cleaned.

LOVE this camground!! Don't expect wifi and good cell service. This is camping and I go camping to unplug from the world. Had to laugh at the review that said they paid for full hook ups and didn't get any. Honey, water, electric and sewer ARE FULL HOOK UPS!! LOL.Our site was in the trees!! It was peaceful, quite and we just relaxed.Staff was great! They guided us to our site. They were very pleasant and friendly. If you don't know how to manuver your truck & trailer, backing up into your site may be a challenge. We will definitely be back!!

It was a very good surprise to someone that's never been camping.the web site doesn't do it justice.there was alot of bad reviews.(dont listen)the staff was super nice and very helpful for where to go hiking.(Allegany 15 mins away)the pool looked to be brand new.the grounds where well maintained. The bathrooms had just what you need 3 showers stalls 3 bathrooms and sinks.(clean)but a little out dated.pool table, some other activities, store just incase you forget something .there is running water through out the grounds.like they say bring your linens.it is camping so don't expect glamorous resort.

Beautiful location! Staff have been friendly and kind. They've also been accommodating as I am disabled. Bathrooms were clean with hot water. I must confess after reading others reviews I was a bit concerned but discovered them a bit unfounded. Yes it seems decorated in the 80's at best but so what so are most grandparents homes. It's clean with hot water and the grounds are lovely! My stay wasn't to see the bathrooms and office.

Well it s a beautiful location.. however it currently isn t well maintained, has incredibly narrow and small roads through heavily tree d roads, and isn t really user friendly .We were only staying one night, but the site they originally booked us into would have necessitated me unhooking my tow vehicle and backing a large rig through a tree lined road past 5 other sites. That would have been stressful. Thankfully they had an open space that we could use without sewer hookups where we didn t have to unhook the toad.Bob was helpful, Ann? (in the office) appeared annoyed that we showed up (at 3:30pm).WiFi was available only near the store and was intermittent. The other reviews really tell a valid story.. some happy campers, some unhappy. Both sides of the coin are understandable.I won t be planning to stay there again.

Pros: The campground was nice and quiet, didnt feel like we were right on top of our neighbors. The fire pits were nice made out of stone/rocks.Cons: backing the campers in to the sites was a complete nightmare. We lost water often, nothing like any of the other KOA's we stayed at. The campground advertises they can support 50 amp, they cannot. They also dont advertise that they "cannot accept anything over 43 feet" which after staying there, they COULD, but it would be extremely difficult for you to back in to the sites. All in all, I wont be returning, just because it wasnt at all what i was looking for and expecting. If your looking for a campground where you are completely disconnected from technology 20 miles in all directions, then this is the place for you. If your looking for a quiet campground with little to no amenities, then this place is perfect. If not i suggest going some where else.

Nice staff. If it wasn't for a few signs, I would have never known it was a KOA.The first site they wanted us to go to was very difficult to back the camper into and very small. Not much room and no sunlight. The 2nd site was much nicer. Be aware that cell phone service is horrible in that area and there was no WIFI. Our timing was poor for this campground. There was a little league team staying there. They were very loud and obnoxious. We left one day early as there was no way we were staying there with that team staying there.

This campground is ok if you like backwoods camping. Our RV site was in the woods, I mean IN THE WOODS!. No sun, no satelite reception, no guide to our site. It was cold and gloomy. Could not ait outside. No night fire because uts was cold. Maybe in the middle of the summer this is a good thing.I peaked into the bathroom and it appeared clean. It did not stink, that always good. The welcome at arrival leaves alot to be desired. Not overly friendly, not rude just kinda like here ya go, heres your site. Not sure how this got KOA branding. Like I said, just not for me but really nothing wrong if you like that kind of camping.

Update:I originally gave this place a 4 out 5 4 years ago because of it not being updated... this was the beginning of our travel trailer experiences. After visiting over 20 campgrounds since my original review I am upgrading it 5 stars. The people that own this place are an example of the original campground experience. Quiet. Wooded. Peaceful. Hard working. The real "salt of the earth" people. These place is a piece of heaven. Do not give notice to the bad reviews. Those reviews are from people looking for the galmping experience. This is not that. This is camping. Go enjoy it.Thank you for having us. We will return. God bless.Original review:The only reason I'm giving it 4 and not 5 is because it has not been updated in a long time. Other than that, everything is in good order. Clean campground. Exactly what a camping trip should feel like. Middle of the woods. Gorgeous. So isolated that you feel a little nervous in the pitch dark woods. Great experience

Visited this campground 2 years ago, it was fabulous. We were so excited to return, only to be disappointed. The staff isn't as friendly as my family remembers. With a family in a camper together - and only one restroom to share, using campground facilities is a necessity.. the bathhouse on our side of the campground was not cleaned at all during our 5 day stay, unless you count ourselves scrubbing it down with Lysol wipes we brought! Pamphlet says checkout is 1:00pm, we were told to check out at noon. Picked up garbage around the site. The posted pool hours are 1pm - 8pm. Went to use the pool at 3pm on a Friday and the gate was locked. I also received an email during our stay and another one after, saying that I cancelled my reservation, additional charge, $59. Keeping a close eye on bank statements, we never cancelled our reservation!

It was a dump. Very small road getting in and around campground. Looked like buildings were falling down. Not very well maintained except at the entrance. Advertised as full hookups and only had water, sewer and electric. NO CELL SERVICE, Internet, or WIFI. And we paid for "full hookups". When we went to complain we we told to get out and he would give us our money back. We were exhausted and asked if we could stay at least one night and was told to "Get the hell out right now!" Needless to say we started packing up right then. Before we could even get finished hooking up to the truck, he came back and told us we had one hour to get off the premises. It was the first time at a KOA Campground. We will be very leary about staying in another KOA in the future. Would definitely NOT recommend staying there.

I stayed for one night and it was quiet and family oriented. Very well maintained.Woodsy and isolated! Highly recommend this for a retreat Absolutely no Verizon service till about a mile back down the mountain and Clubhouse and store are closed due to Covid so WiFi is only available outside the clubhouse. There was an issue with my work (I have to have WiFi in my trailer) so I couldn t stay my full reservation. Gary, who s family owns the site, was so helpful and was able to give me a full refund for the nights I couldn t stay!!I want to come back and stay when I don t have to work

This place has the perfect Triple D rating (Dirty, Dated, Dump!!!). Rented the deluxe cabin and it reeked of mold and hadn't been updated in over 30-40 years. Got moved to another cabin that was in better shape but hadn't been cleaned all year (dirt and cob webs everywhere). The owners have terrible attitudes and have given up on their campground. Definitely not befitting of the KOA franchise. Avoid if you have even the slightest expectations of a KOA experience.

Our 3rd time staying here over the 20+ yrs of camping. A family run campground and very accomodating. Wonderful setting in the woods, quiet and very cool. Didn't use the showers but they were clean by us. I read some of the reviews and I hope people read between the lines -- you are camping in mother nature! Its never going to be perfect! Would recommend it to anyone!

Terrible customer service. Was fraudulently charged over $800 and when seeking clarification on what the charge was for, was told they could not identify any such charge in their records. My bank records say otherwise. Would advise anyone who stayed recently or who is thinking of staying to keep a very close eye on your bank records.Upon further investigation, I was called the next day to be told that a relative at the site must've entered my card information and charged me erroneously/accidentally. I appreciate the follow up from the site, but that is an unacceptable justification for the week of my life I now need to spend with $800 less and coordinating a new bank card.

I hate being negative, but my little family agrees that the best we can say about this KOA is that it s, better than nothing. To be clear: we are capable tent campers who don t mind roughing it. However, we ve come to expect a certain level of quality and amenities from KOA cabins and this campground doesn t meet our expectations. The bathrooms were just another kabin subdivided into 2 bathrooms. (That means if 2 people are showering or using the john, and you ve got to pee, you re out of luck.)Our cabin smelled like dog, and was truly bare bones: queen bed, bunk bed, small counter. No TV, fridge, or garbage can. No a/c. Small wall heater but it didn t work great. I had to lift hard on the doorknob to be able to work the deadbolt.I ve been to over-the-top KOAs that have tube slides and beer wagons and pizza delivery Kinzua East is NOT that kind of KOA.

I ve been to MANY KOA locations over the years. This is so far the worst one I ve been to. Our cabin was dirty. The location overall was not as unkept as others. The staff seemed friendly. When asked what to do around here, I was pointed to the wall of brochures. No personal interactions.Looked at some of the other cabin sites in the area and seemed much better

This campground is well maintained, the sites are large and planned perfectly, the facilities are very clean and the staff is helpful and accommodating. This KOA is the center of everything an outdoor enthusiast would need. Golfing, fishing, hiking, hunting and in Bradford there are amazing museums that should be on a must see list while you are in the area. Recommend highly!

I just spent a nice week at this campground and I had a great time. I found it to be quiet and peaceful with adequate facilities. I had a full hook up site and did not have any problems with the electrics, water or sewer. The campground is older and not as fancy as some KOA s but the people were nice and helpful. Be advised there is limited cell service and little wi-fi. Bring a good book or a few DVD s if you have a player. If you are looking for a modern campground with an amusement park atmosphere you will be disappointed but if you want a peaceful camping experience in the Allegheny National Forest then give this campground a try.

Probably the worst maintained and managed campground in the country. Definitely for a KOA. The camp roads had minimal gravel on them which created a driving hazard and nightmare for all. The roads were muddy swamps full of ruts. You sank and slid as you drove on them. The only use for the camp map was for kindling. Wrong information given. Minimal signage provide no guidance or direction. Tight turns accompanied with large boulders further added the hazard of getting stuck and damaging your camper. I personally witnessed 4 others get stuck in a matter of 3 days. When I spoke to camp maintenance, he said it happens all the time. The restrooms weren't the worst but below average. I've camped at a multitude of locations once a month for the past 5 years and this was easily the worst one. Side note: while staying here my camper along with two others had identical slashes in one tire each on the driver's inside side wall. I don't know who or when, I'm just stating a fact the occurred during my stay.

This is definitely not up to the normal KOA standards. It is far older than any other KOA I have been to and is missing many of the amenities. (No cable, wifi, over air TV, expanded playground...). It is best compared to a small, unimproved state park. It has ample trees and shade and does provide a classic camping experience if you do not need/want the modern touches of "glamping"

I am giving a 3 star rating because of two reasons. First off our stay was great. Host's were nice and friendly and for all those complaining about wifi and phone service... come on your camping and in the middle of the Allegheny national forest. My first complaint is the pool was advertised open from memorial day weekend to labor day weekend. Its 5/25/19 memorial day weekend and your pool isn't open. Ok weather hasn't been the greatest last week but still. My second complaint is. Why do you charge $5 a night for a child when your advertising 6 people per site? Camping is a family event.

It would have been nice, and our cabin and campsite were fine, but the bathrooms were not clean. We stayed 3 nights and the bathroom was not cleaned once. I saw an employee go into the men s room with cleaning supplies, but he came out less than 10 minutes later and I don t think he ever went in the women s restroom. In the middle of a global pandemic I thought this was really irresponsible and unsanitary. I would not go back for that reason.

Not your typical KOA. Overpriced for what you get.First off $17 for a bundle of wood. My own fault for not having some, but definitely bring your own.Not well maintained. I expect higher standards for a KOA. Playground was in rough shape. Pool was ok but outdated. Random mobile homes and private houses in the middle of the campground are odd.It is quiet at night. Possibly because it wasn t filled up.Worst part was that the sheet they give you at check-in says a 1pm check out. At 11:45 one of the camp owners asked us when we were leaving because they said check out was 11am. I said no, your sheet of paper here says 1pm. They said the reason they were asking when I was leaving because they had another reservation on my site and were coming in at 1 pm. What campground schedules a check-in and check-out at the same time?!?! Then, the oncoming campers parked and were standing there waiting for us to leave at 12:45pm which was rude and intimidating.Bottom line, don t expect a typical KOA experience. I ve stayed at state parks for $20 a night with a better experience.
