I was driving my 7.3 van when everything went to neutral. After looking around for a local shop and reading all these great reviews I decided to have it towed here. I am happy to report back that I was NOT disappointed. The service was extraordinary from the get-go! Rob and Cameron really took the time to explain to me how transmissions work and everything that could've went wrong. They were very transparent with the costs and even sent me pictures throughout the process! My biggest takeaway from taking my vehicle here is that I know everything was done right. I've dealt with other shops in the past and even if a place quotes you a little cheaper... TRUST ME you will sleep easy at night if you go with this shop. My van is back on the road now with a fully remanufactured transmission that looks better than new! Thank you Gillece!!P.S. it shifts buttery smooth too!Service: Transmission

Great place to take vehicle serviced! Ron is especially informative and keenly acknowledgeable regarding vehicle transmissions and engines as well. While I'm in Pennsylvania I will not hesitate to take my vehicle here. The job they did for me was immaculate. No wonder they been in business for years. It is hard work, transparency, honesty, open communication and detailed descriptions of procedures and processes with the customer that has made this place a gem for locals and travelers. My respect and admiration goes to the team behind Gillece Transmission! May God keep blessing this place.

We were referred to Gillece by our local mechanic when the service codes indicated transmission issues. I had called to set up an appointment and they were able to get our car checked quickly and outlined everything that we needed to do to drop it off. Rob was great in getting back with a diagnosis and letting us know the extent of the damage and what would need to be done to fix the vehicle. He was very specific with how the repairs would be handled to insure that it would be done correctly and not have future issues arise. The cost for repairs seemed very reasonable and we are very satisfied with the service.Services: Transmission, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic

I recently visited Gillece and met Rob and Rick. I can t say enough about them. I was referred by a friend to take my 1961 Ford F-100 there to have My transmission serviced and a few leaks fixed.5 star service for sure!!!!Honest, and fair price for work completed. I had a great experience with Gillece. Their customer service was second to none. They sent me pics as they went through the process of a complete rebuild of my trans. It turned out that it was more expensive than I was originally quoted but DID NOT charge me extra I paid what was quoted. Most places would never do that and would have charged me the extra amount! 5 stars to the manager Rob and all the guys at Gillece! I would recommend to anyone searching for good quality work from good quality people check out Gillece

I took my car to another place first. They had it for a while, and told me it needs a new trans, the one in my car was definitely shot. I took it to Gillece, not only did Rob treat my car like it was his own. But, found out it was just a control module that was making my transmission not work properly. Saved me unknown amounts of money. Best choice I made going to Gillece. Highly recommend !!!

I thought I was doomed when I hit the gas and the transmission didn t work. I was able to get it to this location and rob was super helpful and all around amazing. After his diagnosis he sent me pictures of what was wrong to my cell phone and told me it would cost $600 compared to $4,500 for a rebuilt transmission. After it was fixed it drove like a dream. He could have easily ripped me off, but took the professional route and helped me out. He was great and the service was kind and fast. Super great business highly recommend them if you can t trust anyone else!Service: Transmission

Rob was fantastic, very knowledgeable about the issue and was quick to complete my service. Rob is also great at communicating the issue and providing confidence in getting the issue fixed. I had my car being serviced at the dealer before bringing it to Gillece and can say it was a great decision and experience.

My 2005 Honda manual transmission was rebuilt through the Bethel Park location and is back to being its dreamy self. It has over 210K miles and the rest of the car was great, but the transmission was getting really rough. No one wants to work on manual transmissions, but Mr. Gillece came to my rescue. You can't be in a rush for the work because his backlog is substantial, but I am so happy to be back in the Honda! Thanks to Rob, Jim, and the team at Gillece!Service: Transmission

Took our Ford Ranger in for a loud grinding noise, truly thinking it needed a new clutch. Rob Solomon and his crew diagnosed it as needing to have the front and back U-Joints replaced, on the drive shaft.So glad that we went to Gillece Transmission at 6060 Library Rd, in Bethel Park! They are honest, efficient, and trustworthy.Even as a unscheduled drop off, we had our pick-up back in a couple of days. We would highly recommend dealing with Rob Solomon for his expertise, friendly demeanor and his straightforward communication of diagnostics and repairs.It s good to know that there is a locally owned transmission shop in the area with such an ethical manager. I cannot put in words how much I appreciate this business. Rob and the crew are not only great guys but do amazing work. I have had two cars there in the past month and they have fixed each one in a timely manner and at fair price. I highly recommend them for any general auto repairs you may need, especially with foreign cars. it is a first-class business all the way around. After my trusted local garage told me they did not feel comfortable completing my repair they recommended Gillece Transmission in Bethel Park and told me to ask for Rob by name as he would take good care of me. Rob was great and verified exactly what my garage told me was wrong with my car. They fixed me up with genuine GM parts and even made it a point to show me the rusted out old parts. Great experience and would highly recommend this garage and Rob to anyone!

I was in an accident and had my minivan repaired at a garage out of state. A week after getting it back home, my vehicle stopped shifting. I took it to Gillece in Bethel Park based of a recommendation from my friend. Rob Solomon at this location was super friendly and knowledgable, he quickly diagnosed my issue. The other repair shop had forgotten to fill the transmission fluid after repairing the vehicle. The transmission was shot and needed rebuilt. Rob went above and beyond in dealing with the insurance adjuster to ensure that they were made aware of the other garages mistake and would cover rebuilding the transmission. The transmission was rebuilt quickly and the van drives as good as new now. Rob has called several times to check up and make sure I haven't had any issues. This is an honest shop, that does great work, and has great employees that make you feel like old friends. I would definitely recommend them to anyone experiencing transmission issues with their vehicles.

I drive a 10 year old car. I broke down and had my car towed to Rob's shop within an hour of calling him. He was so professional, kind, and helpful on the phone that I felt completely comfortable and had no issues leaving my car with him. Within 2 hours of me having my car dropped off he diagnosed the issue, calculated a price and notified me of what needed to be done. This was by far the best experience that I have had dealing with my car in an emergency. Rob was outstanding and I would highly reccomend him and his shop to anyone.

I strongly recommend Rob at Gillece Transmission in Bethel Park.� I was having trouble with my transmission and two other repair shops had said that the entire transmission needed to be replaced.� After reading�their strong reviews on Google, I called Gillece Transmission in Bethel Park to get another opinion.� Rob agreed to look at my car the next morning, and quickly diagnosed that the transmission did need to be replaced.� However, Instead of giving me a quote for the repair, he proactively researched and learned that my car might be eligible�for an extended�manufacturer's warranty on the transmission, even though I had already�exceeded the extended warranty�mileage�cap.� He called the service department at a local dealer, who then checked with the manufacturer, and they agreed to pay for the full cost of replacing the transmission at the dealer. Rob's knowledge of the industry and genuine willingness to do what's best for the customer, even if it meant taking the car elsewhere for the repair, saved me thousands of dollars.� Rob even called me a few days later to follow up to make sure the dealer was taking care of everything properly.� Rob is a model of integrity and honesty, and I highly recommend that you bring your car to him if you have any transmission trouble.

Brought my 98 Lincoln in as I couldn t shift up out of second anymore, had a warranty on the vehicle from a third party. Rob and his team took excellent care of my vehicle and I. I was consistently kept up to date on the status of things and they fought tooth and nail to have it done correctly. They even went as far as cleaning some of the mud off of my floormats and went the extra mile at all avenues. Gillece will be my main place for transmission work and where I ll recommend anyone go looking for high quality service and repair.

One day our Subaru dash lit up like a Christmas tree with 4 different error messages. Our local mechanic suggested going to Gillece to resolve these transmission-related issues. After Rob fixed the first problem, follow-up diagnostics indicated a smaller additional problem. Rob kept us informed every step of the way, with as much detail as we wanted to know about the transmission issues, how long it would take to fix them, and the associated costs. He also made suggestions for ensuring the health of our car's transmission ongoing. When I experienced a transmission issue with my 2002 Dodge Durango R/T, I looked for repair shops using a Google search. Based on the reviews, I selected Gillece Transmission. Those reviews heavily represented that Rob Solomon was honest and explained the issue with the vehicle in detail so the customer understands exactly what they will do to fix the problem.My experience with this shop matches what I read in the reviews. I showed up unannounced after having the issue over the weekend when the shop was closed. They got my vehicle in Monday morning. Before lunch, Rob called me with the exact details of the issue with my transmission. The vehicle was ready for pickup by Wednesday around lunch time.Considering the amount of labor time involved, the price I paid was fair. The work was done promptly. I echo everything that I read about Rob and Gillece Transmissions. I absolutely recommend this shop to anyone that needs transmission repair.

Excellent service and price. Rob is a genuinely nice guy who wants to help you. They do great work for a fair price. Instead of charging me an arm and a leg for a new transmission, they repaired mine for a fraction of the cost, in addition to fixing another problem that could have been catastrophic. I wouldn t hesitate sending my friends and family there!

I'm a Pittsburgh native who visited my family for a long 4th of July weekend after more than a year away due to COVID. I was planning to return to Virgina on the morning of July 5, but as soon as I left, something felt very wrong with my clutch and brakes in my 2003 Acura RSX-S. I was lucky to make it back to my mom's house before my wheels locked up. Gillece was referred by another Pittsburgh transmission mechanic. Rob was very accommodating and worked through numerous issues with my vehicle, which needed a new transmission and 4 brake hoses, and then some additional attention to other parts to resolve brake/wheel locking. While my trip got extended until July 10, I was very impressed by the effort, honesty, quality of work, and reasonable price. First gear of my manual transmission is now running like a horse out of the starting gate. I stopped in to our local Gillece shop because of an intermittent metallic squeal that worried me. Well, you guessed it! Rob tried as hard as he could to duplicate the sound to no avail. Long story short, I just poped in interrupting Rob & Rick on their current project when the noise reoccurred and they took the time to diagnose the problem there and then. Later Rob found me a replacement part at a reasonable cost (compared to dealer costs) and repaired my vehicle. I had a wonderful experience at Gillece. No one likes to have transmission issues but Rob at Gillece was beyond helpful. He got me in for an appointment quickly, explained everything to me clearly, and expedited my repair to get me on my way as soon as possible. I appreciate their help and highly recommend Gillece!

Amazing service! When my daughter's 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee had issues I called 3 different transmission places - 1 took over a week to return my call (and not until after I placed a second call) and then couldn't even get it in for a diagnosis for another 3 weeks, 1 never answered their phone (just rang and rang) but Rob called me back within an hour of my initial call, and got us in the next morning for a diagnosis and repaired it the following day. I most loved the bit of education he gave us when we came to pick the car up, along with the texts and videos he sent while he was doing the work. Very reasonable price, insane level of customer service, and just all around a great experience. He also referred us to a reputable mechanic for everyday repairs and maintenance. I couldn't be more pleased with our experience.

Rob and his employees could not have treated us better! We ve been going to them for service since he replaced the transmission in my 2012 VW Routan. They are so professional and kept us updated every step of the way. We have also had our 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee serviced there many times for multiple issues. This shop has treated me right! I brought my car to them, thinking I was going to be out a lot of money. They found the issues, fixed them and didn't oversell, though it would have been easy to do that to me. They kept me current on the situation, parts etc. (I have a classic car and sometimes parts take longer to source). The work was done right - the first time. An Honest price for Honest work! A+ Service: Brought my truck to Rob to diagnose what was a bad differential. He is very detail-oriented, and went above and beyond - even when he wasn't sure that I wanted him to do the work (I originally planned to work with a different shop). In the end, I knew the only real choice was to bring it to Rob and have the work completed the right way. Very happy customer, will return!

Best mechanics I've ever been to. Very knowledgeable and courteous. They take the time to explain everything to you and make sure you know what you're having done. They also took the time to read through my whole warranty to make sure that they could get the best fix possible for the least amount of money and they stand behind their work! While getting my snow tires on at my usual garage, I asked them to check a weird noise and smell. TRANSMISSION ISSUES. They referred me to Gillece after checking to confirm it wasn t under warranty anymore.I went into it looking at $5000-8000 I thought. After looking at my car, Rob called Nissan and found that my transmission was under a warranty that had been extended and not well advertised.I honestly have to say Gillece restored my faith in humanity. I was ready to buy a new transmission and wouldn t have known the difference.There is still good in the world. ;)

I bought a used car from carvana and noticed a grind while shifting. Car was covered under warranty so I figured I would get it repaired ASAP. Took it to Gillece.The warranty company had some trouble getting the right parts which delayed the repairs. still got it done as promised. Gillece made their best effort to get it done despite the warranty company s incompetence. seamless and stress free. very friendly service and informative of the parts and the repair process. I will definitely be returning to Gillece for any future transmission maintenance or repairs.
