The person working the front desk was very polite, welcoming, and helpful. I was not impressed with the room. There was a musty smell, not enough light, And the A/C unit was not very cold. Get more people like that behind the desk and correct the room issues.Food & drinks: I was happy with the selection. I ate around 5am and the person working the desk had everything ready. Eggs and sausage especially good

Room cleanliness and comfort was far below expectations highlighted by a musty smell, saggy mattress, and dirty bathroom. Since I was traveling with a pet, my choices along I-70 were limited so was forced to choose this hotel. Only a gas station and Burger King are available across the road. $75 pet fee, especially for hotel condition, is ridiculous. Employee on-duty in the morning did adjust my bill at check-out for my displeasing stay which was nice (and an email from the manager). By the time I checked in, unpacked, and noticed these issues the last thing I wanted to do was trudge down to the desk at 10pm to get a new room only to re-pack and move with my dog in tow. I shouldn't have had to in the first place and based on my surroundings I probably would've been disappointed again anyways.

Absolutely disgusting. One quick peek under the mattress revealed a treasure trove of nasty. Called my employer and had them cancel the room and rebooked elsewhere. Will never stay again.Rooms: Gross.

Firstly, the photos of this place are very flattering for a place I would have a hard time taking nice pictures of. It's in a location where you're within a 10 minute drive of Sheetz, a grocery store, CVS, etc., and mostly fast food - you're directly off a highway. Pretty far from anything interesting. I would advise anybody with accessibility needs to find somewhere else. There is no elevator, no proper hand rail in the bathroom, slippery bathtub with no slip prevention mat even, and the room entrance is not very wide... One of my friends nearly fell in the shower and without a handrail would not be able to get up. The room itself was spacious enough, but there were a lot of things that stood out to me. We booked a non smoking room, and it had an overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke which flared my migraines and asthma - and the windows don't open, so we couldn't get the smell out, as well as there being no fan. When the bathroom door is opened, it blocks the entry door, really poor placement. The bathtub was not clean, having hairs in it. The carpet had multiple dirty spots, one of which looked to be either mustard or vomit, another dark and very sticky spot, a red juice colored stain, holes in the carpet, and some spots felt wet on arrival. There were spots that had not been vacuumed properly where we found bits of food from previous guests, including a moldy cheeto. The beds were fine and there was a desk with a chair, TV, and plenty of space across from the beds... where it was basically empty space. There was an armchair in the corner and a comically half height lamp in the other corner - the space looked like it should have two couches or an L shaped couch. Oh, and the drawers had signs of insects having been there in the past. Overall, it wasn't the worst place to be, but the only thing that could have made it worse would be actually seeing any bugs. The breakfast was fine, hard to complain about waffles and cereal. Staff we interacted with were kind enough, they're just doing their jobs.Rooms: The beds appeared clean, but the carpet was absolutely not, with sticky spots, stains, something that looked like either mustard or vomit, wet spots. The insides of drawers showed signs of insects having been in them, although I didn't see any bugs. A non-smoking room that still smelled like cigarette smoke, no fan, and windows that don't open. Lots of empty space. Bathtub was not entirely clean, and had no sufficient handrail.Nearby activities: There are no activities nearby that I could see, other than a bowling alley. It's mostly highway. The pool is incredibly small, and the small play area for kids is pretty sad.Safety: The doors lock properly, I'll give them that.Walkability: There is nowhere to walk to safely.

The entrance is a little tricky if coming from the Washington Pa, Wheeling WV areas but with all the construction going on there right now, I think it's going to be worked out soon. And, the ladies that work there are always so professional and genuinely nice, friendly and helpful that this was where all of our out-of-town family members and friends were reserved rooms when they were coming into town, which is often... Until now.The last time I reserved a room for my parents, I phoned this hotel and reserved their room for a second night after they decided to stay an additional night then emailed them their itinerary/confirmation.Upon arrival back at the hotel, they went up to the front desk and an arrogant young man rudely refused to check them in.He told them that their reservation was cancelled, that he couldn't offer them any further assistance, there was nothing he could do for them and basically to have a nice evening because there weren't any more rooms available, anyway.WHAT?So, they reach me on the phone (mind you it's 11:30pm at night now), and he informs me that my parents were gone because he "couldn't honor the price he quoted me on the phone and reserved the room for because it wasn't coming up in the hotels computer system anymore." I HAD A PAID RESERVATION.I asked him if he knew where they went and, of course, he didn't and had little to no concern for whereabouts of my 85+yr old parents who were now without a room for the night and whose whereabouts were unknown.I began phoning every hotel in the area and, finally, I located them checking in to the 3rd hotel I called, understandably upset and exhausted and just wanting to rest. So, we met in the morning and after I heard all the unbelievably disgusting details about how COMFORT INN on State Rt. 51 in Belle Vernon Pennsylvania treats their customers...especially elderly disabled customers...elderly disabled customers THEY stranded late at night because their computer system was acting up, then allowed these elderly disabled customers to just walk away in the middle of the night without even attempting to resolve the matter to anyone's satisfaction...I vowed to NEVER make another reservation there, stay there or recommend that place to another human being for fear something like this, with even more devastating consequences, would happen to them or one of their family members. And, to this day, I never have.Walkability: Along major highway

I am a truck driver and thought I would give this hotel a try. The place is fairly clean and neat. I decided to stay in the most expensive room they offer. It came with jacuzzi. Room was quiet and comfortable. The next morning I decided to extend. I woke up after breakfast hours, but noticed they had some complimentary yogurt in the dining area. I ask if I could grab one and was told no. Would you deny a guest a free snack because it was a bit late in the day? Especially someone who is paying for two nights in your highest priced room? I think if roles were reversed I would make an exception in hopes of retaining a guest. Idk, what would you do?.....

Horrid place. No help from staff on complaints, was completely blown off.Copy of complaint to their main office.Comfort inn, Belle Vernon PADates of stay10/01/2021 check out 10/4/2021Checked into room that was reserved for 4 adults, 2 towels in room.Mattress filthyRoom had mildew odorMold on cabinet that refrigerator was supposed to be onRefrigerator on floor outside of cabinetRefrigerator had dried food all over insideMany many bugs in window sillsNo phone in the room.Microwave filthy with the paint coming off the inside with rust.Very disgusted with room.Outside door did not work, went out the door and could not get back in as card slot was broken. Told them at desk upon arrival, response was, yeah it s been broke.Asked daily for at least the refrigerator to be cleaned and never done. Spoke to persons at the desk multiple times about it and was told it would be done and never was. Spoke to gentleman at desk about it upon check out, only response was I don t know why she didn t clean it.I am extremely upset in regards to this. When paying money to stay at a room I would expect to at least be mild free and clean. I understand short staff etc, but should not have taken 3 days asking for it to get done and repeatedly not completed when I was told it would be done. They stated the housekeeper did not want to go in rooms when guests are not in room, I told them I did not care just get it done. When asking for towels they told us they wouldn t bring them if we were in the room. Really???? So I assume rooms do not get cleaned at all when guests are here as we even had to set our garbage out and was the only time garbage was picked up.I am expecting some kind of refund of my stay as this was completely unacceptable. If their is not a solution to this I will be reporting the mold to the department of health and also the other complaint with the better business beureau.

The staff is friendly and helpful, but the room are in varying states of disrepair. It also seems like there are several people living in the hotel of a "section 8" nature. We previewed the hotel and the lobby and common areas looked nice, but we didn't get to see an actual room. And while the lobby has been nicely updated that is not the case for the guest rooms. One major issue was the undeniable stink of cigarette smoke throughout the place. We sucked it up and stayed for our one night, but I would have preferred to be in a much better hotel.

The General Manager Lucas or Luke was great when dealing with guests greeted us in the lobby as we sat down for breakfast which the hot breakfast for the hotel was ideal. Rooms are clean and quiet. Some additional outdoor lighting should be installed to brighten up the outside of the building. We will be staying again in future travels.

The place is filthy. It says it s a smoke free hotel but every where smells like cigarette smoke. Even our room smelt so bad of the cigarette smoke and mildew. The air in the building and room doesn t work so it s super hot and uncomfortable. The light is out in our bathroom. The toilet is unstable. The pool is also filthy from looking at it from our window. I highly don t recommend this place. I d rather sleep in my car.

Stayed for a few nights rest while taking the bike path to Maryland and then on yo Florida.. Everyone there was helpful and unbelievably knowledgeable about the area.Lisa at the front desk stood out. She made sure I was able to use the dryer and just seemed like a very hospitable soul.Room was clean. Place was quiet. Breakfast was good.

Fantastic stay! There is a pool and over the weekend was 99% adults! Loved it! Kids are fine but most of the times parents are letting them run and scream around the hotel with no respect to other people staying. It was not like that here, definitely adult friendly. Room was clean and bigger then expected. Hot breakfast and guest laundry. Microwave & fridge in the room. Staff was great. Certainly on the "stay here again" list! Thanks everyone!

There were unfortunately no other available hotel rooms within 20+ miles due to some event going on. As soon as we saw our room we tried to find something else but couldn't. There was blood stains on the sheets, mattresses and curtains! The pillows had yellow stains, there was hair all over the place and even the microwave was dirty. When we hurriedly left to go to our event, our door wouldn't lock! We had to quickly gather all of our belongings up and take them with us so they wouldn't get stolen. The very basic idea of a hotel room is that it will he secure but not this one! We cane back well after midnight and it was too late to have anything done and there were no available rooms to ask to switch. I slept in a hoodie because I felt like I was going to get lice or bed bugs and was super grossed out. We left as soon as we could in the morning. Yikes. Then to make it worse the manager wouldn't refund us because, well, we "stayed" so that's all that matters.

STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE! The owner(s) of this establishment clearly do not care about their patrons and do not deserve your hard-earned money. Our experience: Room not ready when we arrived with kids at 11pm after a day of driving. Listened to the service person yelling and cursing at someone on the phone while we waited in the hall as they finished cleaning our room. All present staff were stressed. Once we entered, one of two beds sheets had human-derived stains and dirt on the sheets; clearly they had not been changed before us pulling back the covers. Bathroom had hairs around the sink from the previous person who had shaved. Overall, this was not an experience we plan to repeat.

The room was dark and dingy. The front door to the lobby had to be pried open. The sink was leaking in the bathroom. There was dirty bedding stuffed in one of the dresser drawers and two cups of yogurt in the fridge. Only one other party was staying in the hotel that night but they chose to have us stay directly beneath that party so we heard Big Foot and its offspring stomping around the room all night long. The breakfast was good enough and the best thing about staying there. The juice machine and coffee machine are not functioning and just dispensed concentrate. It was a place to sleep, that s about all.

I've been a long time customer of the choice hotel brand and was unhappy to find that this comfort inn was actually a Quality inn truck stop. (Someone made my reservation while I was driving.)I have stayed at quality, comfort, and clarion, and Comfort is my favorite because of the amenities and the hot and ready breakfast.Amenities I missed this time... slightly larger room, body wash/shower gel and lotion, shower cap, makeup removal cloth, hand towels, more towels in the room, being near other restaurants, shops, and hotels, the overall feeling I was not at a truck stop. A light was broke. In the parking lot so some areas were dark. There was a door propped open with a piece of wood so it didn't feel safe. Needs a timed door alarm. I probably wouldn't have stayed if I had my family with me. But it was late and I was tired. The room was dusty but I presume lack of use due to covid was the problem there. Now for some positives, the decor was newer, fresh paint and furniture that was simple but not worn, newer curtains. The old dark bedding covers were over the newer down alternative I'm used to seeing surrounded by fresh white sheets.* The desk agent was friendly and positive when I arrived at 9pm, I have come to expect a certain level of customer service with Choice hotels and was not disappointed there! The bed had a zippered cover and was actually quite comfortable with plenty of pillows of different fluffiness. In the morning, they were making hot breakfast to go, it smelled delicious, but I didn't go get any. The smell of the food cooking was super strong in my room I tried putting my towel under the door but it was coming in on the side too. I wondered if there was a fire in the hallway how quickly the smoke would fill the room.Fyi. There are only stairs which didn't bother me. There was also only some gas stations nearby. I had to drive to the next exit to find food options and a well-populated gas station. Overall it was a good experience, just not the experience I was expecting.

Worst Hot Wire choice ever made. Sitting in the pouring rain after driving 400 miles - just outside a brand new Comfort Inn and Hampton Inn 16 miles in the opposite direction - when typing in "hotel nearest me" this was the first one that came up. Not knowing the area... I chose it thinking I was getting what was right in front of me. Lesson learned to always know your EXACT location. Yes, front desk staff was friendly - however this Comfort Inn hasn't seen any upgrades in about 50 years. GROSS. Disgusting carpets throughout. I was so exhausted I had no choice but to stay, but had great concerns about sleeping in the beds with the oldest linens, bedcoverings and curtains that were thick with dust. The whole place smelled of urine. The pool was completely out of service (like for what appeared years)... they were out of SOAP! Out of lotion (that I could not of cared less about...but SOAP?). Breakfast was tolerable....barely. Even truckers didn't look like they would stay there. The price reflects what you get. It should be leveled. I will pay full price to stay where I know what I am getting next time.

Comfort Inn Belle Vernon, PA. We stayed there 1.19.17. Two queen bed. Non smoking. Room was very spacious. Beds were comfortable. Receptionist was very kind and cordial. Hotel room was mostly clean. The bathroom was not as clean as I would have liked it to be. Breakfast was good and there was a decent selection of foods to eat.

Biked the GAP trail. The hill on the way to the hotel was hell but fun on the way back to the trail. The facilities made this one of the best hotels. Very spacious rooms we stored the bikes inside with room to spare. Lots of table space to work with. Guest laundry was great after a hot rainy day. The lady at the front desk even gave us complimentary bottled water. The room was super clean. The cable TV was loaded with good channels and the night stand even had 4 USB ports to charge our multiple devices.

Clean, nice beds, with a laundry, which is great if you are riding the GAP (Great Allegheny Passage). Good breakfast, spacious rooms. But if you are riding the GAP, there is no perfect way to get to this hotel - steep hills, a bit of traffic. We did it though, and it worked out great.
