This shop is excellent!!! Let me share my experience as to why I feel this way. In the early hours of the morning in late October of 2022 I was traveling down I-5 driving home from visiting my son and his family in Northern Washington to my home in the Sacramento CA area in my 2007 Toyota Tundra SR5 4WD pickup. About 75 miles north of Portland my truck started acting up, and rather dramatically and erratically at that, and I determined that I had lost both 5th & 6th gears in my transmission. I did my best limping down I-5 into the Portland area so I could get to either a Toyota Dealership or a Transmission shop to get my problem diagnosed and repaired. Having been a mechanic in the late 70's & 80's, and then a Snap-On Tool Dealer in the 90's and early 2000's, I had a pretty decent background to fall back on in recognizing what I was possibly in for regarding the repair costs and down time I would be up against in my journey to get back home (I was dreading that it would take several days, if not a whole week). So while searching Google for my options of where to take my truck, I found this shop and made it my destination to see if they could adequately help me, and get me back on the road headed home. The reviews I read were very favorable, which gave me hope, and boy was I about to be rewarded with one of the best experiences in a vulnerable situation I could possibly hope for. From the extremely nice lady at the counter, and the very competent tech that diagnosed and repaired my issue, and the very gracious owner of the shop, Bob Bauer, who took great care of me in my situation, I was in great hands. They got my truck repaired at the highest level of competence and professionalism possible, and almost 1-1/2 years later it's performing flawlessly. Thank You Bob, and your entire staff, I am a very happy and satisfied customer!

I will never be bringing my vehicle back or referring anyone to them. The mechanic said my brake rotors were badly scored. But after a second opinion, it was found that my rotors were perfectly fine, my brake pads were perfectly fine. But they didn't even check the caliper, because if they had they would have found that the bottom bolt of the caliper was missing. They charged me $165, which would have been fine if they had actually helped me.

Absolutely fantastic experience. Had an issue arise with my car and Bob was able to get me in with in a few days and get it fixed with in a week. Super speedy and friendly service. Highly recommend going here first before any other mechanic. The team is good people.

The team at Milex is wonderful. They provide full service and thorough explanations of the issues that I can understand and evaluate. They have excellent communication within the team and to me as a customer. I never feel like I m having to repeat myself on what I think is happening with the car when I don t have the right mechanic words. They help me determine what issues are critical, related to safety, or not high risk so that I can plan my maintenance schedule in a way that my budget allows. They have earned my return business every time. Thank you team!

We took our Volvo and our Tacoma in for service here, both of which needed more than regular maintenance done. Bob and his crew were efficient, professional, and communicative throughout both jobs. I had my transmission serviced here and will be going back for brakes next week. Price quoted was reasonable compared to the dealer and it was done promptly. I appreciated Bob s knowledge, friendliness and professionalism. It can be hard to find a mechanic you can trust, I definitely trust Bob. This place is great. I had to get a new automatic transmission and they tracked one down that was nearly new at half the price of what a dealership quoted me at. I would've bought a new car and had car payments for years without them, which I wasn't ready to do yet. So yeah, I like them a lot. This was last year and since then they've reached back out to check in and I brought my car to them for routine maintenance. I'd absolutely recommend them.

Beyond excited to find Bob s auto repair shop!! I m picky about where I will trust my vehicles to be taken care of, and couldn t be more satisfied with Mr. Transmission! I needed an alternator replaced and he got it in the next day! My Xterra runs great now, no more jumping it! He takes pride in his business, I can tell by his clean professional waiting room, and the time he takes to explain to me what was going on with my vehicle, and what he did to fix it. He s kind, honest, knowledgeable, and I completely trust my vehicles in his care. I have so much more confidence and less anxiety knowing I have found Bob and his auto shop, thank you so much!!

My AG sprayers transmission went out on me last Saturday morning. I called Milex and spoke with Bob. Since my sprayer wouldn't fit in his shop, he sent Abbie out on Monday to help me pull the transmission. It's now Thursday afternoon, my transmission is fixed, back in the sprayer and I got my fields sprayed.Fast and friendly service that went above and beyond with my unique situation.Thank you Bob and Abbie!AlanABM RANCH

We came to Milex for two different cars, a Chevy Colorado (transmission) and a Ford Edge (electrical and heating). In both instances Bob and his team were able to make time to see and repair the vehicles in a timely manner. Many other places were booked out for 2-5 weeks. Bob is very communicative and did not do any work unless approved. He also gave us his honest opinion whether he believed the repairs were worth the investment, helped us prioritize repairs, and looked for ways to save us money. I needed to have my air conditioner recharged before a long trip down to California. Bob and his team got me in and out very quickly. It s a good thing too, because on the way down I drove through two hours worth of heavy smoke from the wildfires in southern Oregon. I have been coming here for over 10 years because of the great repair service. Also, I like to ask a lot of questions and Bob is great at answering them in a way so that I can understand. He also lets me know what needs to be done now, what can wait, and what is just nice to. We had a gear shifting problem which they fixed along with other services. Very pleased with the service and how nice everyone was. Bob is a very good person to work with. I will soon bring my truck in. Highly recommend them.

i came in on a whim to ask about my head gasket and they were able to do it easily, they found other intermittent problems that needed fixing got my car back to me in just under 4 weeks, the main reason it took so long was the part wait, but they were really super helpful and i would definitely trust them to repair my vehicle again in the future

I brought Bob and old barn find truck that I couldn t figure out the issues with. Along with a full diagnostic on the vehicle him and his team were able to find the most obscure problem that has happened from the dealership of all places! Bob & his team do right by their clients, and value them. When you walk into the shop, you get excellent service, they are up front about everything and keep you updated throughout the process. I went to both a GM Dealership and a nationally recognized transmission shop to inspect my vehicle as it seemed to be running rough and I was getting ready for a road trip. Both places indicated they were detecting transmission slipping codes when my vehicle was being inspected. The dealership advised the recommended repair would cost $7,500 while the transmission shop advised the repair would cost $3,500. Still not convinced, I went to a third location, Milex- Mr. Transmission. The owner, Bob was thoughtful, courteous and the most knowledgeable professional I have ever had the pleasure of working with. He had his certified tech do a thorough inspection of my vehicle and determined it was in fact not a transmission error but rather a faulty air flow senor which turned out to be an extremely minor repair. My car is now running perfectly and Bob saved me thousands of dollars in unnecessary repairs. My overall experience was great and I truly believe they went above and beyond any other shop I have been. They even gave me a ride home while my SUV was being serviced and offered to pick me up when it was done. It was like having a good friend who owned a repair shop. They have certainly earned my trust and business since they do most other repairs as well. I will definitely be taking all my cars to Mr. Transmission for all their service needs going forward. Thanks Bob, you saved our family vacation.

Mr Transmission has done a lot of great work on a car I bought from my dad. Rebuilt transmission, fix oil pan leak, brakes, and new cables for the battery. Every time I ve gone in they have been fast and very professional. I still need the steering fixed and when I m ready I ll definitely bring it in to Bob and his team. I know they ll get it fixed correctly the first time and finish it when they promise with no delays.Services: Transmission, General repairs & maintenance

Brought my car to Milex after being quoted $8,300 for the same work at a dealership, they got my car in to be diagnosed the same day even though it was clearly busy. I paid less than half the price of the dealers quote and they got it done a day ahead of schedule. Kenyon was my technician, who replaced my timing chain, water pump, and camshaft sprockets as well as other general maintenance that it needed. The owner Bob is very personable and kept in contact during and after the repair to ensure that everything ran smoothly! Great service and honest people which was very important to me. AWESOME! Bob and his team at Mr. Transmission are just awesome! Excellent customer service plus knowledgeable and skilled mechanics that can do everything, not just transmissions. The turbo in my 2013 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter got damaged from an impact and sent metal shards throughout the engine. The warranty had just expired a few months earlier so Mercedes wouldn't cover any of the damage and couldn't even get my van into the shop for over a month. Bob got my van in right away to diagnose the problem and quickly had replacement parts on the way. Ultimately, the entire diesel engine, turbo, radiator, etc, all needed to be replaced. Bob's master mechanics got it up and running perfectly. Bob really went out of his way to help us through this difficult situation. He was very patient with our insurance company's adjusters and even helped us save money on parts. I am absolutely thrilled with the service at Mr. Transmission and highly recommend them for all of your auto maintenance and repairs. They are the best!

These guys do great work and are very honest. They strive to do the best thing for their customers.I had them replace the timing belt on my daughters car and something got wired incorrectly when they put it back together and it burned up the alternator. They were honest and upfront with me and fixed the alternator with no cost to me.The hose on the air conditioner sprung a leak causing the Air conditioner to lose all it's refrigerant, Bob new that we were heading to Alabama the next week and had the part shipping accelerated so that we could have the car ready for our big trip.I really appreciate the Customer Service and Honesty and would recommend these guys to anyone and everyone.Services: General repairs & maintenance, A/C installation & repair

Bob Bauer is the honest auto repair person that I love having in my corner. Bob always comes through and explains thoroughly any and all repairs that my 2011 Chevrolet HHR needs. My recent visit required the replacement of the front wheel bearings and, after 146,000 miles, the spark plugs. Bob then recommended that I consider a fluids campaign and provided me with a quote for the flushing and replacement of all the fluids in my HHR in order to keep it performing well for at least another 50K miles. I have been to Mylex several times with both my car and my wife's car. Each time we have been treated with respect, been greeted warmly, and treated fairly. Bob does a great job of explaining what is wrong with your car, what needs to be fixed, and what may not need to be fixed. We were recommended to him by a family friend who had a similar positive experience, and it is nice to feel like you can trust your mechanic, rather than feeling like they are trying to get every last penny out of you. He told me what needed to be done, what I may need to go elsewhere for, and regularly beat the competition when it came to cost.
