Warm welcome at the front desk when we arrived. Our room was quite nice and modern looking. Bed and pillows were comfortable. TV was large. We had no issue with noise from above or to the side. Breakfast was good and plentiful.Great experience, and we will stay again when visiting The Dalles.Rooms: Well laid out and nicely decorated.

Very nice modern, clean hotel with a comfortable bed. The woman at the front desk was wonderful, very helpful. Decent breakfast, but it was late on the morning we were there. The sign said 6:30 and it was after 7 AM before breakfast was ready. One of the regulars said that was very rare breakfast was usually early. Only a KFC within walking distance of the hotel.

I found myself traveling a lot lately. The room was clean and the fridge and microwave in the room was very useful. I loved the soft and firm pillow selection. Very quiet room, but the highlight really was the complimentary breakfast. Shout out to Sue for putting out amazing cinnamon rolls, egg white omelets, bacon , sausage, good coffee too. Sleep here and eat breakfast here. Best breakfast experience anywhere I have stayed.

Checked in early Saturday evening, so there should have been more than one front desk agent available. There was not, and the agent that was on took 45 minutes to check in our 4 rooms, while 3 other parties waited in line after us.Free breakfast was missing so many items, it was really just free toast. The kitchen person was run off her feet.Rooms are new, clean, and spacious. Good covered patio out back to lounge on.I expect much more from a brand name inn at $250/night. I usually stay at Marriott's low-end properties and receive consistently good service.

Nice room, comfort bed, good Continental breakfast with friendly staff. A great place to spend the night. My only complaint for all 3 times we've stayed here is there is never much food left in the continental breakfast if you go towards the last hour they are serving. We always have to ask them to make more food for us, which is frustrating and put us back on the road later than we wanted to be. They always say they throw too much away if the hot food is full till the end. Maybe you should ask your customers if they plan to eat the breakfast when they are checking in and ask what time they plan to do so. We always know when we want to get back on the road, and when we plan to go eat it. Just an idea.

I recently had the displeasure of staying at the Holliday Inn Express in The Dalles, Oregon on September 22nd and 23rd. My experience was far from what I would expect from a reputable hotel chain, and I regret to say that I cannot recommend this establishment.Upon arriving, my initial customer experience was disheartening. The staff members at the front desk appeared indifferent and unhelpful when I requested to add my AARP member number to my reservation. Their lack of enthusiasm and willingness to assist left a sour taste in my mouth. What's more, they failed to provide any information about the property's amenities or services. It seemed as though they were more interested in their personal phones and chatting among themselves rather than attending to guests. My dissatisfaction did not end at check-in. Upon entering our room, we were met with a disheartening sight. The bathroom and shower were clearly in need of cleaning. It was evident that the housekeeping staff had not adequately prepared the room for our arrival. This oversight raised significant concerns about the overall cleanliness and hygiene of the property. The disappointment continued into the morning when we visited the breakfast area. The tables were left uncleared and dirty, creating an uninviting and unsanitary environment. This lack of attention to cleanliness was alarming, especially during these times when hygiene should be a top priority. In conclusion, our stay at the Holliday Inn Express in The Dalles, Oregon, was far from satisfactory, especially considering the rate we were charged. Premium prices should equate to a premium customer experience, and unfortunately, this was not the case during our stay. The unenthusiastic staff, subpar cleanliness, and neglect of basic hospitality standards have left us deeply disappointed. We will not be recommending this hotel to others, nor will we choose to stay here again in the future.Noteworthy details: Newer Hotel facility

Unfortunately this hotel did not meet our expectations and managements need to make improvements in several aspects:- more than one check-in staff needed: there's constantly a line of three groups waiting at the reception with luggage in hands. And the process of check in takes longer than usual.- more staff to help with breakfast needed: at a Saturday 8 am breakfast hoar when we went, they run out of coffee cups, plastic forks, eggs, bacon, pretty much everything. Pancake maker was out of order. Only one staff was working the whole time.Guests were confused at what to do.The pool area is nice and the room is new and spacious. I hope they can make some improvements so we can live here again. Currently they don't worth the $250 per night we paid for.

I'm so glad this location now exists. It made our stay in The Dalles so much more comfortable. The 2 ladies at the front desk were awesome and went out of their way talking to everyone they could to find food/ coffee places to recommend it that we've been to in the past but couldn't remember the name of.The pool was clean and awesome, room was clean and comfortable.I highly advise a visit.(Also, try Spookys pizza down the street, it's amazing.)Rooms: Very clean and comfortable. Showers are awesome.

We stayed here 3 weeks ago. The stay was just OK, nothing special. However, someone from the staff or with access to their computers is stealing credit card information. Today our credit card was fraudulently used in the Dalles, we traced it back to a shady website with a random address super close to the hotel. Also, the only place in the Dalles (or within a 130 mile radius) where we used this card was in this Holiday Inn.So check your credit card charges if you stayed here

This was by far one of the friendliest hotels I've ever stayed at. Everything was clean, The breakfast was actually really delicious, and I can't say enough wonderful things about the front desk, and the kitchen staff!!Seriously, If I had my own customer service business, I would absolutely try to steal the kitchen staff to come work for me. If corporate ever reads this, give them raises!I actually celebrated my son's 10th birthday party there, sleepover style, and all the kids got to swim in their pool, which was loud but a total blast! I totally recommend this hotel!!!

So I gotta say this had to be one of the best spots I have stayed. We came it at 7am they let us grab a room with early check in. Breakfast was delicious, rooms where clean fresh, and very put together. Loved the shower lol had nice water pressure. The salt water pool was a plus, we didn't have that nasty smell after. Pool area was nice and clean, hotel lobby is very nice. Room service was very kind and was there fory family when we needed help. Very nicely put together. Thank you for making our experience wonderful. We will be back.

This particular Holiday Inn was clean, updated, and well appointed. The location and access to the regions many fantastic wineries was great. The staff were all professional, helpful, and super nice. One in particular stood out. She helps managed the continental breakfast everyday day during our stay, and went above & beyond to make sure the food was well provisioned and always checking if we needed anything. She was kind, friendly, and super considerate. She s most senior there and the old school work ethic is very apparent.

This was a really clean, nice hotel and a great location near Hood River and close to the freeway. The staff was friendly and hotel was pretty new. The bathrooms were big and nicely lit. Our only complaint was the blinking lights on the wall of the bedroom with all of the safety monitors, but it seems better to be safe. And there was no good tv guide on the tv. It tells you the channels but not what show is on at what time. No biggie. It was a nice hotel and we'll stay there again.

Pretty nice hotel right off I-84, in The Dalles, Oregon. This hotel is relatively new, with very large rooms and was super clean. The complimentary breakfast was hot and fresh and the kitchen staff were very friendly. I did wake up to make coffee with only 3 decaf k-cups available. That was quite disappointing. If you re on the north side of the hotel, the freeway noise is pretty loud. They had a decent gym, but no cups for the hydration station, no towels and no sanitizing wipes or spray, to wipe down the equipment. Overall, a pretty good one night stay, just a few minor things would make it a 5 star review.

Clean and friendly hotel. We stayed two nights in a King Suite. This hotel is on a side road parallel to the highway, so there was very little highway noise. We were traveling with friends and used the breakfast area tables to play board games. Several guests were using the pool. We saw people sitting around the outdoor fireplace. Our only complaint is that the ice machines weren't working.

Convently located. Excellent service! Talea was especially helpful as was the manager on duty. Immaculate room, plenty of clean towels, comfy bed. Pet friendly. Breakfast was good and the coffe was not bad. This was one of my better experiences at this hotel chain, which I think is due to their hard-working staff.Rooms: Very clean, nice amenitiesSafety: Well lit, overnight staff.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. They were very accommodating to our family and our impending loss of a family member. The staff members were all very courteous and helpful in any way they could be of service.Jan is the cook for the continental breakfast, and she is an amazing asset to this location. The food was delicious and the variety we received each day was great! She is a loving hostess who strives to make you feel like you are in a home away from home!I highly recommend this location!

Couldn't be happier! I had wonderful overnight stay. Wish I coukd have stayed a couple more nights! The hotel must have just recently opened because everything from floor to ceiling wall to wall appeared to be new.The room I was afforded was absolutely state of the art and spotlessly clean. There was a big screen television. Nice selection of local and cable channels. Several USB charge ports. A work desk and chair. Of course free Wi-Fi. A lounge chair. Mini fridge. Microwave. A coffee machine with amenities. Clothing storage. Ironing board and iron. And my favorite. A big cushy bed with fresh linens and multiple pillows. The shower was supremely large. Glass sliding doors. Large lighted vanity mirror. They supplied shampoo, body wash and cream rinse in pump dispensers. In addition they provided multiple floor, facial, wash and body towels. And, a blow dryer. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Even the housekeeping staff was friendly and cordial. In fact, I arrived a bit before check in time so room's were still being prepared for guest's. The host apologized several times for not having a room ready. But I kept reassuring her that everything was fine and there was no need to hurry. Since it was just after lunch and I hadn't eaten I got great advice on a local restaurant just down the road. By the time I returned they had a room ready for me.The location is at the south end of town off the main road. They're not too far from the freeway exit. So no problems finding them. My room was located at the end of the hall on the second floor. I had a really nice view of the hills south of town.Being mid week it was very quiet. Even when guest's started showing up later in the evening the noise levels including bumps, thumps, televisions and conversations were practically unnoticeable.Bottom line. Great people, rooms and location. Definitely worth a repeat visit!Rooms: Only wish I had taken a few pictures of the room to share how wonderful it was.Nearby activities: There are many. It al depends your interests.Food & drinks: There was a continental breakfast available. Unfortunately I wasn't able to partake. Perhaps next on my next visit!Noteworthy details: Very happy with the service here. Friendly, cordial and happy staff make for happy experiences for guest's.

This hotel is very clean and new. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. The front desk assistant Randy was a huge help and was very kind and respectful to our family and two small kiddos. We are grateful to go to places that have kind staff! We loved the first night stay that we stayed there on our way home as well! Will definitely be staying at this hotel again.Thank you!

Great place! This place checks all the boxes! Great complimentary breakfast! Great receptionist that were helpful and knowledgeable of local events. Spacious rooms and most importantly comfortable beds. Rooms were also clean and comfortable. The location of this hotel was also very nice! Freeway access nearby. Definitely recommend staying here when you visit The Dalles!

Stayed here for 4 days in August while moving a relative back east. She stayed as well, with her cat, for a couple of days. From the moment I entered the lobby to check in with Jamie, to the occasional requests of Steve (general mgr) and Randy (front desk mgr) I was treated with the most sincere kindness and hospitality. They were so accommodating to my mother an myself during a very stressful time...they made things a bit easier. The rooms were THE cleanest and nicest I've stayed in in quite awhile. It was quiet, which I needed! Besides the customer service, I think I was most struck by the impeccable cleanliness of the entire property. Considering they allow pets, one wouldn't think it would be quite so clean. The team here takes great pride in this hotel and it is obvious.
