I use to love that store, but, the past few times I've been there, I'm really beginning to change my opinion. They refuse to slice lunch meat (ham) at the deli unless it's the most expensive brand, some products do not ring up with the sale price, and, just today, I asked someone that was in the customer service center to look in the lost and found because I'd lost a insulated coffee cup, and he said that he couldn't do so. The one customer service person that was there was helping someone with a return and paying bills, and my ride was waiting at the door for me. So, knowing that I couldn't keep my ride waiting, I had to leave. I don't understand what would be so hard about looking in a box by someone that was just standing there. Very poor customer service!

Ever since we moved back to the gorge in 2018 & Fred Myer began offering grocery pick up, it has been a great service. If there is anything missing they are quick to correct it. Staff is always super friendly rain or shine. My family appreciates you all.

I'm not from the area and I've never been in this store in the dalles. I came here 12/10/18 at around 5pm and it was really crowded and the store is really small. The bathrooms were dirty. The parking lot was confusing. Customer service was great. They were out of the item I wanted and it was hard to find.

Theresa in the deli is the best person for the job. She is animated to no end and very personable to her customers and makes a killer wrap. Great job, Theresa!!

Since when an Adult Person has to show up an ID to purchase NyQuil? That is a joke. The cashier girl didn't let me get The NyQuil because I didn't have my ID.

This Fred Meyer is very old and space is very limited. Many customers are very stressed as a result, dealing with awkward isles and limited cashiers. Customer service is horrible! I couldn't find my rewards card and the lady at customer service said there was nothing she could do, takes 2 weeks to get another card. Well, that was a lie... the cashier gave me a temporary card. I will try to avoid this store in the future.

The guys in electronics are horrible. No help. Rude. And they push their political views on the customer. Been shopping here for over ten years. I won t be back.

I came to the store at 10:54 pm and was intending to make a quick one Min purchase knew what I wanted and where it was, unfortunately I was treated quite disrespectfully for needing to grab something while they where still open the First Lady Nancy upstairs greeted me with an eye roll then pulling her phone out and rudely saying we close in one minute, I replied I know this, she then proceeded to follow me to my isle and stare at me as I m trying to make a selection spiking my anxiety, I politely asked if she could please stop staring at me, she disrespectfuly replied I do t have to I m doing my job, I then asked her again politely if she could please step around the corner and wait to follow me out and she laughed and continued to stare at me , at this point I was pretty angry and decided to grab my items and head to pay, on the way out another employee says rudely to me you better hurry up in an intimidating manner, the only nice person in the store was the two lady s helping me at check stand 2 they where wonderful and understanding of why I was upset with there employees, I informed the manager and he simply told me he s never had a problem with Nancy before

The staff were exceptional, even the guy facing grocery products helped me to the right section, which happens to be an odd little upstairs. Sporting goods department sucks, and the staff there were seemingly offended when I asked for ammo. From that point it went downhill, the first checker had a customer leave the line to continue shopping while we waited and she was lost as to what to do other than direct us to self check out, then self check out had issues with the computers. Just go to Bi-Mart when it opens and save yourself the frustration because it's like this store is trying to cram all the products from a typical Freddies into a smaller space and still provide 100% customer service when both are impossible.

I just wanted to say how happy I am with Fred Meyers in The Dalles. I had a small issue with a purchase, I called the store and asked to talk to a Manager and was transferred to a Manager named Tim Jones. He politely listened to my problem and told me that when I come in to the store to ask for him and he would take care of everything for me. I stopped in, talked to him, and I will say Tim Jones went above and beyond to help me!!! Thank you so much for being so kind and helpful and making things great for us! This is why my family and myself shop at Fred Meyers, we treated like we matter.

I seem to get decent food and clothing deals here from time to time. However, I ve tried to do pick up 4 times, and they have had to push my order back over 1 hr on two occasions and the other two times I had over 10 items from my cart just missing because they were out of Stock. This store never has what my toddlers eat - sour yogurt , happy tot bowls, probiotic yogurt drinks, seaweed snacks, teriyake sticks. This store seems to have decent nice employees and the bathroom seems clean most of the time. My biggest issue is the vegetables never really seem fresh. I think I will take my business to Safeway.

Wow! If I could give 10 stars I would! What an amazing experience with the manager and the customer service personnel. Not to mention the other associates home and garden ect that helped us. They are ALL AMAZING!! We truly appreciate everything! We will always shop with you when we are in town. - See you soon (Fathers Day BBQ mess) :)

Very clean store and very helpful staff. Watch buying any Western Union money orders here. If it is lost you will never receive a refund

Was having the worse day... at checkout, the cashier had a positive, pleasant attitude but not annoyingly so.. she helped turned my day back around. Thanks purple-colored hair lady. She provided efficient, friendly service despite my sour mood. Good job Fred's ... hire more like her and I'll keep coming back.

Amazing help in electronics. The little tall blonde boy helped me find the perfect i-phone charger. It was so cute how he tried to be all strong against those evil non-maskers that were bothering him. Truly my hero! He's got upper-management written all over him. Can't wait to go back and visit him every day.

Frustrating to have the digital bait and switch BS. What's the point of having their silly rewards card if it doesn't give you the sale price anymore? It's bad enough to have to carry another plastic card around, but wait it doesn't matter cause you have to download another app as well! Being a long time regular customer used to mean something. Feels like going to the casino without the fun.

I hope a health inspector visits this store soon. Worst grocery store experience in years! During a time when everyone is being so clean this store was filthy. Homeless man walking around with no mask and a dirty dog through the grocery department. Deli personnel with long false nails serving up my lunch. anyone with a food handler's permit in the state knows that that is illegal to do! Impossible to find employees to help with questions in the apparel department. Will not be going back again.

Do they even care about customer service at this location?Was screamed at and scolded like a child when approaching self check.Then was approached by a manager and told they re busy and basically to buy my things and leave.(I didn t even ask to speak with a manager)This is becoming a regular occurrence. The staff doesn t care about the shoppers, and the management clearly doesn t either and that would explain why they treat the customers so poorly.This store is ran like a high school. It s dirty, there are carts everywhere full of clutter blocking the aisles not only frustrating but it s unsafe, workers on there phones everywhere, they are wearing AirPods (headphones) cutting you off while you re shopping not listening when you ask them questions. I have even seen employees making out with there girl friends in the electronic department behind the counter in the evening.Someone from corporate should really be checking in on this place, I hate that this is the only place in this town that sells things that no where else does.

Great meats and produce. Everything is fresh. The guys in the meat department are supercool. They will hook you up with the best quality and best prices around. I've shopped the other markets around, and I didn't know that Fred Meyer was a grocery store. Sorry Safeway , quality and price is better here today.

I was in The Dalles this weekend and realized we needed a few things for our camping trip. My experience was positive....they had everything I needed, my encounters with employees were pleasant enough, and found parking about the same as anywhere else. Maybe I got them on a good day but saw some other -less than positive- reviews when I Googled directions and thought I'd share my experience.

Used to go to fred meyers regularly. One day I was recycling cans and they had no one fixing them. I called customer service and a lady named Michelle answered. I said "can we please get someone out here to fix the machines I get "WE ARE WORKING ON IT!" HANGS UP on me. So I told my wife to do the same, same exact response. I am on the fence about reporting the whole place to the Oregon state recycling committee.Do not go here and if you do avoid Michelle, she's not customer service she's just a horrible person.

My son is 2 years old, every time we go into Fred Meyers he always says bye-bye very loud and over and over again. Today every cashier took their time to wave bye and say bye to him, even customers. It made my morning and his morning as well. Specifically the cashiers have been amazing despite how hard and stressful cashiering can be!

I just LOVE Fred Meyer Store in The Dalles. They have really nice employees, a lot of electric shopping carts for seniors & handicapped people who have difficulties walking for long times, & a very large selection of food & items to buy at very reasonable prices. This is great for those on limited budgets, & they also have some of the best handicapped parking spot, handicapped entrances, handicapped check-outs & customer service center, & clean handicapped bathrooms, which is easier to get up off the bathroom toilet with a lot of room & handicap helpful railing for support to help you get up with dignity & independence. Also nice sinks to wash up your hands that doesn't have time limits & real paper towels to dry your hands with. The employees are friendly & very helpful when you can't find what you are looking for. Also they have Money Orders, Western Union, Faxes, & minute cards for your cell phones & gift cards to buy. They also have an elevator to get up to the upper floor for more shopping area to check out sales.

Very disappointed in the bakery the last few years. I don t know if store policies have changed or what. BUT when I worked in the bakery, customers came first! If a customer asked for a cake not displayed, I stopped what I was doing and did the cake fir the customer! Never did I tell a customer that we can t do that ! NEVER did I not smile at a customer either! I get bad attitude from your bakery manager and a couple workers ALL THE TIME! Also, we used to be able to purchase icing and baked cakes but I m told hell no we can t do that ! Customer service isn t number one at Fred Meyer the dalles at least!

I went in because a supposed voided transaction wasn't voided and I was treated as some sort of lowlife con-artist. The first transaction didn't print a receipt and was "voided" yet still charged to my card so I was rang up again for an amount and when the employee noticed the quantity didn't work after I had paid again, I was rang up for the rest of the items and both together equaled the same amount as the first "VOIDED" transaction. This was all within 11 minutes of each other. I brought in the 2 receipts that printed and, showed them the time of the first transaction (transaction history). There was a little confusion so I understand that the wrong transaction was looked up, when I pointed out the time was wrong, my first transaction was 4 minutes prior to the one he brought down, he said "it doesn't mean anything because its not always the same time and its not showing anything went wrong on our end and we can't look up that transaction (even though he just looked up the 1 right before and after) and I need to call customer care". I was talked down to in front of other customers and once I get this settled and can slap down proof that I didn't go to some other store several minutes before and then went there to spend the exact amount to the penny, I will never step foot in that store again. I have never been treated so badly by customer service! I even said I would come back when the employees were there and could verify. Just insane.UPDATESo I came back with the receipt KCRC emailed me and Brandi again spoke to me condescendingly, and instead of John who refused to look for the correct receipt she called Jimmy who after looking over and seeing it's the same items told her "just do it, the sooner she's out the better" as if I'm making a scene and not standing there quietly waiting for them to look over the info, then tells her to make a copy of the 2 receipts to send to LOST PREVENTION. Even after bringing the proof and being told by KCRC that they are fully capable of handling refunds I'm treated as a thief!
