We love Westgate! They are always so helpful, communicative, and fair priced. The work is always done exceptionally and timely. We are so grateful to have such a great mechanic in town. Would definitely recommend using Westgate!

Went in for an oil change and asked if they could give the car a good look over. They did the oil change, checked the brakes and tires, and went over the engine. I highly recommend this garage and Jose has the best customer service.

Westgate got me in a week before anyone else in town could. Not only were they exceptionally helpful in getting me back on the road but they also gave me updates on the progress of the repairs. When the final bill came it was much lower than I initially thought it would be and it was below what they had originally told me it would be. I recommend them to anyone who needs their vehicle repaired. I can't say enough nice things. They really are good.Service: Engine repair

I ve been using West Gate Auto off and on for 20 years. They have always done right by me. I recently took my 1995 Chevy Tahoe in for repair of a fan noise that it was making. Initially they repaired what they thought was causing the problem, but it ended up, not being the problem that was causing the noise that I was hearing. So when I went to pick up my vehicle, I said I felt that before paying I should get the results that I brought the vehicle in for. Jose agreed, and their technician had actually suggested what else was wrong so they ordered the part and fixed it the next day with no additional charge. I appreciate the fact that they stood by their word of my estimate which was $375 to fix the problem and although they were going to charge me and give my vehicle back to me that they were honest and said that yes, it was still making the same noise, and were willing to make it right. Lee, the owner has always ran his business like this, very honest and willing to work with the customer so they are satisfied. I like keeping my business local here in West Salem and I would recommend them to anyone.

So, I think this is the first time a mechanic ever saved me money.. My check engine light was on, so I pulled the codes at O Riley s and bought the suggested oxygen sensors 2@$200ea! Took them to Westgate, the guys looked over the car and determined that they were malfunctioning because they were dirty and my air filter was dirty. So they cleaned the car and changed the air filter. The check engine light went off and I was good to take my $400 in parts back for a refund! They could have easily changed the parts and charged me for it. They didn t. I ll be back for sure!

Amazing auto center. I took my Chevy Cruise in and these guys went above and beyond to help me! I m new to the area and have great relief knowing there is an honest, hard working auto shop in town. If you need work done, feel confident taking your car to Westgate

These folks have been taking great care of my dad and his car for years - so now that I'm in the area, I trust them with my car, too!They're wonderful and honest as the day is long, I highly recommend them!Update 4/2022 - brought my car to them for a repair that another shop quoted at $2.2k minimum... These folks actually looked for the root of the problem, discovered the problem was a cracked hose and not the entire AC system. The cost? 1/4 of what the other shop wanted.

I've been going to Westgate for the last 20 years and they continue to exceed expectations. Thanks Lee and crew!Most recently, they replaced a fuel pump for me, same day, as I had an out-of-town trip planned that evening. Even though they were busy, they got the job done. Lee is always a pleasure to deal with, and Phil did a fine job on the repair. Thanks again!

Having been a mechanic in my younger years, it is difficult to trust someone else with my car. I can tell when a mechanic is pulling a fast one and feeding me a line of bull. Well, I have to tell you, I just had a great experience at Westgate Auto Center. I took my Acura in that had an oil leak. It was leaking from the distributor seal. Phil, the mechanic, told me he could replace the seal for fairly cheap but being the car has 348,000 miles on it, it would be a good idea to replace the whole distributor. Exactly how I would have handled the situation. Offer the inexpensive route and offer my professional opinion of what I would do. The quote for the new distributor installed was around $400. When I picked up the car, the bill was only $324! When has that ever happened to you in an auto shop? Thank you Phil, you have earned my trust and my business!

I've been taking my cars to Lee and the guys at Westgate Auto for 20 + years, and LOVE that I can always trust them. Finding an honest mechanic is tricky, but here you have that. I took my car into another shop (because it was right next to where it broke down) and they quoted me $500 more than what Westgate later did. They're efficient, friendly and honest.

I have been going here for my car for 20 years. There is no better place to fix your vehicle than Westgate Auto. The owner, Lee, is very honest and so is everyone that works for him. You will not be disappointed in the service you receive.

I have had my car in twice for repairs. The team here is friendly and upfront. Both times my final bill was less than I was originally quoted. They seem to do quality work at a fair price. They have never tried to upsell me on extra services.

Originally rated it a 1, because I was severely misquoted how long it would take to fix the problem, and then the problem was not actually fixed. However, when I arrived to finally pickup the problem, they had done enough work to make the car usable. The price was fair, and working directly with Lee is nice, and my overall experience was average.

I moved to Salem this summer and along with a good haircut, finding a good mechanic is on the list of needs but daunting.My 09 Grand Caravan was making a noise like a tiger trying to spit up a disagreeable bit of buffalo. Squeaky Wub Wub Thud over and over. So I called and brought my van in the next morning.Well I found my new mechanic.They listened, thought a bit, then borrowed my keys. Drove it, out it in the lift, fixed, drove it, handed me the keys.Driver front tire was very loose. "It happens; you got four wheels and sometimes folks get in a rush." No trash talking other peoples work, no fuss.And no charge; "just keep us in mind if you need anything."Well. The Instant Oil Change places have even lost my business. Fair, honest, courteous, and considerate of my time issues (I explained I needed to pick my child up from school that afternoon, and that was taken into consideration).I can t recommend an honest, customer-focused, and not greedy mechanic enough.

This has been my family go-to for years. Always up front with us and wanting to solve the issue. The most recent fix was a misfiring cylinder that brought in to scan at 4:40 on a Friday. I wasn't expecting to get it back til Monday at the earliest. I got a call at about 6:00 saying it was ready for pick up. I actually had to adjust plans to be able to come pick it up on Saturday morning!I'm always happy to bring my vehicles to Westgate, even if the reason isn't the best ;)

We took our daughters car in to find out why it wouldn t start, they were very honest and thorough they had the car for less than 24 hours and found the problem called me to let me know what they found ordered the parts and made the repairs and had the car back to us. I would definitely recommend these guys and will use them again in the future!!

No frills, good service. One day service for an alternator. Price quoted was reasonable. When you go to some repair shops they try to sell you other services, or tell you this, and that needs replacing. Not here! Very pleased!

To the person who wrote that they were sexually harassed please contact us! We take pride in our business and a claim like this against our business and employees is a very serious matter. Please contact us anyway you can so we can do an investigation of this claim as soon as possible. Something as serious as sexual harassment should never be reported only on the internet, it should be taken to the proper authorities without hesitation. We want to take the proper steps necessary to make sure Westgate Auto will always be a safe and trusted place for all of our customers!We have already started the investigation on our side and found no records of anyone named Maria Calypso doing business in our shop over the last 4 years. I have been going to these guys for 20 plus years, have always been happy withtheir work. They moved recently because of the intersection construction at Wallace and Glen Creek. They are a couple of blocks to the south, but still on Wallace Rd.Please don't retire any time soon Lee, your the best in the West, Salem that is.
