If I could leave 0, I would. Nothing but problems with a used car I bought from them. I talked to a few people that had nothing to do with selling me the car, and the last 2 guys bordered on mean. I don't recommend this dealership to anyone! SHOP AROUND!! Buyer, beware. Car was overpriced as I later found out. It completely broke down after barely 300 miles. I live in Springfield, and sorry I went to Salem.

The service department staff has some of the worst customer service I have ever seen.I have a lifetime oil change package and recently came in with a dead battery/alternator issue that was potentially covered under an extended warranty if it was in fact the alternator. I made an appointment to have the alternator checked and to be covered under the warranty.I have had multiple interactions at this service department and 100% of the time have been treated like it s an inconvenience to them for me to be in there.After dropping off my vehicle, the electrical issue took a day and half to diagnose that the alternator was in working order and it was just a dead battery. Pretty sure it takes 30 minutes tops to test the battery and alternator.Horrible communication during that day and half with no status updates, phone calls or texts. After I finally got a hold of them through their robot answering machine or unresponsive text service, I was told a new battery would be $450 installed. $100 of which was an hour of labor time. Really, an hour to set a battery in the tray and connect the positive and negative cables? Again, 15 minutes at most. Comparable prices were about $225 installed.If I chose not to agree to the $450 battery, I would be charged an unknown hidden $189 diagnostic fee. Their response - Oh, nobody told you that when you dropped it off? In the future, I may even consider paying for an oil change elsewhere, just so I don t have to deal with this type of customer service and ridiculous maintenance costs.

This place sucks. Took our car in for service. No call backs on anything that s going in. Told us they needed our car for a whole day now it s going on five days and the car is still there. Friday at 4:30 and we still don t know anything about the car. If I can find another place to take our car consider it done. Worthless just worthless.Update they kept it two days longer than they said oh wait they said nothing. Showed up to get the car just to find out it still wasn t done. Again still no call or anything.

Service at this dealership has been very disappointing. I bought a truck back in September 2022 and after nine months it needed a new engine. I dropped the truck off back in June 2023. It is now September 20 2023 of me writing this review and I ve never gotten any updates of what s going on. Every time I call, they act like I m inconveniencing them and they just tell me the engine is on back order and there s no way to track it. I understand there s a supply chain issue, but they make it sound like it s going to take years to get a new engine. They will not accommodate me with a loaner vehicle. If I want a rental car they re going to charge me $30 a day for the vehicle I m already paying for that is just sitting in their lot. The last time I called, they told me the person in charge of my service no longer works there, so I seem to have been forgotten entirely. The ball has been dropped every step of this process and all I m asking for is communication and a drivable vehicle. I paid for an extended warranty for this exact type of situation, and it seems to be meaningless. You need to find a solution for this catastrophe.

Got a screw in my left front tire, they got me in quickly to get the tire patched and did it free of charge. Never take my VW anywhere else for service. Ben and the guys are Top Knotch.Service: Auto tire replacementService: Auto tire replacement

Excellent customer service. Easy to navigate any issue or service they provide with the outstanding staff! From opening the door when I arrived, until the time I exited out that same door I was impressed by it ALL! This facility along with it's counterpart can really if they haven't already make this the only place you would go for whatever you automobile needs are. Absolutely amazing, thank you Capitol Auto Group.

Don't buy from here. We got conned by sales into trading our car in and got a terrible deal. The sales team are sharks. I understand they need to make money but the whole experience was awful.

Mixed feelings , the sales staff are awesome. Finance people will play games with you , adding on to the deal, hoping you will not say anything. They include LoJack at a cost to you,if you decline they just keep it there . Service makes you feel like they are doing you a favor. Do they fix it ??? Well yes and no. I will not be back to this dealership.

Employees were very nice, the location was clean and sanitary.The service was efficient and quick.Even though the cost is higher then a standard mechanic, their knowledge with my vehicle is worth every dime.

Fairly fast service if you wait. Their texting feature although says send them messages to this number doesn t seem to ever reach them. Interior cleaning that comes with certain services is a very mild cleaning. I discussed new tires and rims and actually found their prices comparable to that of lescwab or similar professional institutions. Over all good experiences

I got a call about a couple hours after I dropped it off for repairs, they told me what was wrong and how long to expect, they responded quickly to my texts and so far so good, my car's still back to normal a couple weeks later.

Joshua was excellent and also Benjamin they got my car in and out for the warranty excellent and even suggested some things I needed to do I would recommend this dealership in Salem to anybody that has a Volkswagen it's easy to get in and out of

Joey in the service department has been well beyond helpful to my daughter and I, taking care of our personal vehicle and loaner vehicle needs! Because of him and service that we have received I will be bringing my wife in soon to purchase her new Volkswagen.

Thought it could be a horror story but Salem Volkswagen really stepped up! Bought a 2008 Prius, Daniel Sheets was my salesman and did a great job. Bought the car on Monday, "As Is, No Warranty," Tuesday afternoon after driving it about 15 miles, 3 lights come on to indicate a problem. Go online to see what they mean, not good from what I can find. I call Salem Volkswagon service department, tell them I know it's "As Is, No Warranty," tell them the situation. Service Managers response, we would never do that to a customer and told me to bring it in. I take it in, they have it a day and call me to tell me they aren't able to diagnose a Prius and I need to take it to Toyota. They add that they will pay for the diagnostics and go from there. I make appointment at Toyota and drop the car off. Get a call that afternoon that the car is ready. I ask what the issue was and what the cost is? Toyota tells me no charge to me, Salem Volkswagon took care of it, little over $300. Wish there were more businesses that care about their costumers like this. They could've easily used the "As Is, No Warranty" agreement I signed but really took care of me. Thank you Salem Volkswagon! I will be a customer again!

Service is good but somehow expensive.But salesman no good at all, he block me out and wait for him about 10 mins to move his car, when he finally show up. He never said a word that is the bad face for business

Salesman are very unprofessional, stand in front of the entry doors hollering across the lot to see if you want to look at a car. We went inside and they just stayed outside.

We just bought a car here and it was awesome. The service is great and they were very helpful and courteous . Would recommend them if your looking for a new car .I know we will be back

Scheduled a meeting to check out a car. I drove over an hour to check out the car and was told that it is in the shop. Not recommending this place to anyone.
