Based on good reviews, I chose Salem Transmission to take my Dodge Ram 2500 to for ongoing transmission issues. I am so glad I did. These guys are first class and efficient! Not only was the work done as per their quote but in and out within the day. Dan called me and told me what he found and how much it would cost. When I picked it up it was exactly the same price plus they fixed an issue with my battery cables. Besides being very knowledgeable they were also very personable and explained in terms I understood what needed to be done. Good old fashioned customer service!Service: Transmission

Transmission pan started leaking a year after I got my service. I was in Oklahoma when this happened and they were cool enough to send me a replacement gasket in the mail for free because I couldn't drive back to salem. Great guys very polite.

Rick was able to diagnose and explain a transmission problem in a way that was honest and calm, at a time where the stress of a hefty repair was on my shoulders. Personable honest service. They answered all the questions I had about the service and my vehicle. The guys seemed like genuine mechanics that cared about the life of my vehicle. They understood that my vehicle is something special to me and assured me that everything they were doing was up to high quality standards and would inform me if they saw anything out of the ordinary. The prices for the services were very fair especially compared to the dealership. They communicated well about everything and I didn't feel rushed or pressured into doing anything.Thank you, Sean. If you need a transmission repair or just a maintenance service, Salem Transmission is the place to go. Rick is a great guy, who runs and owns a great business. Rick and his team were professional, from start to finish. I went in for a quote, and happened to talk with Rick himself. He fully explained the service, and informed me of any possible issues that could arise. And better yet, he explained it in a way I could understand. He then quoted me a price and let me know when I could come in. I did my homework, and found that Salem Transmission was the best choice. When I scheduled my appointment I spoke with Dan, who was kind and informative on the phone. When I came in for the appointment at 8:30, the team was ready to go. I walked to Black Sheep Cafe (Another favorite of mine) and had breakfast. By the time I walked back, my service was complete. And by service, I mean Transmission and converter flush. Dropping the Transmission to change the filter. The whole nine yards. I can't say enough about how pleased I am with there service. These guys are amazing! They did a great job on my car! Checked in everyday, talked over repairs before they did the work. And my car has never shifted this smooth! I highly recommend them.

They were very professional. The facility is well maintained and clean. It's very obvious that they're extremely knowledgeable and they went the extra mile to make sure my transmission was working the best that it should. The price was great and they were very fast. I appreciated that I only had to be without my car for 1 day. We will be return customers if ever needed and highly recommend them.

These guys are great. I have an old 79 dodge pickup with a bad speed sensor and leak that other mechanics couldn t or wouldn t fix, but Salem transmission had it fixed in 3 days and only $200 bucksService: TransmissionService: Transmission

Been rebuilding my own 4R100 and called Rick to see if they could throw my case in his cleaner. He said no problem! $25 bucks out the door.Great deal and I learned a lot speaking with Rick.Shop is clean, tidy and organized -- this is the sort of place I'd want building my transmission!Thanks Rick and co. A class act with a clear attention to the details necessary for rebuilding a transmission!!

Took my 99 Durango in expecting major issues. Turned out to be a TV adjustment, and now shifts perfectly. Rick was very professional and hones . The staff was great. Won't take my cars anywhere else for transmission issues.

Get a WRITTEN QUOTE!!! I called Rick for a quote for a transmission oil change and filter on my motorhome with a Sprinter 3500 drivetrain. Rick gave me a quote for around $350 to $400...I agreed and brought it in.... Upon picking my vehicle up I was told that I owed $660.00!!!!! Nowhere near the quote... Rick said the transmission was pretty standard and they are familiar with it. So how did we get from "around $400" to $660.00???? Lots of reasons but none that makes any sense to me. If they are familiar with the model and have done them before???? and why did I not get a call before the work started to tell me it was going to be quite a bit more money to service my transmission???I suggest you get a written quote from these guys...they up-charged me without any warning and blind sided me with the bill.

Very friendly, straight shooter. The Jeep dealership recommended an $1800 fix. Took it here and they fixed the *real* issue which took less time and money. I can warmly endorse this business.

I had Salem Transmission replace a transmission in my 2004 Power stroke several years ago. I drove it very little, and when I needed it full time, it failed. The warranty had expired which was through Ford. Rick found a way to get me in, discovered why it failed, and repaired it for an extremely fair price. I won't say any good things about Ford, and will switch brands, but I cannot say enough good things about Salem Transmission.

For four years I suffered with a stiff, slipping, and stuttering clutch. Two other repair shops repaired the clutch and made matters worse. I explained the situation to Rick at the front desk of Salem Transmission. He proposed possible causes and solutions and sounded very knowledgeable and experienced. They fixed my clutch, repaired it completely, put an end to my multi-years of grief and today my clutch feels and works like it did when the truck was brand new 18 years ago. Best dollars spent on my vehicle. I cannot recommend highly enough Salem Transmission. I drove from Coos Bay to get this work done. Smartest thing I've done in a long while.

I love these guys! Lots of shops will take the easy way out -- pull an expensive assembly out and replace it. Salem Transmission will dig to find the real cause of the problem and fix it rather than run up your bill for parts you don't need. They've saved me a bundle over the years.

After Sams transmission screwed up my 4L60E rebuild I gave up and brought it to these guys.They are professional and very knowledgeable and got the trans running great .Realy great people to work with.Paul Albright

They were knowledgable people but it wasn't a friendly atmosphere and they were a little overpriced for the service quote. Ended up going elsewhere.
