The professionalism and skill level were lacking, and communication was notably poor often going weeks without updates, requiring me to constantly initiate follow-ups. The experience was marred by unfulfilled promises, frequent "misunderstandings", and manipulative interactions, making it the most disappointing mechanic encounter I've faced. I'd advisee going almost anywhere else.Additionally, the owner's dismissal of negative reviews as non-existent within their system contradicts the reality, further eroding trust (receipt photo attached).

Dakota and his team have been truly amazing! They are friendly, honest, thorough and make time to listen to what you need.I find it helpful that when you call to make an appointment their schedule is typically flexible and it easily fits into my schedule. They also go over the pricing of labor, materials, etc. and give you an estimate before ever coming in.If you're looking for a great mechanic and a shop that won't take advantage of you, give Dakota a try.

Dakotas was absolutely amazing. Repaired vehicle in a timely manner and they were very friendly. They went above and beyond. So very happy and I think you will be too!! They have helped other people in the family as well and they were so happy as well.

Great customer service, and was quick with work. He bet communicative with his estimate and delivered as promised. I will be going back to have to more aftermarket done on my cars and I highly recommend his shop.

I highly recommend Dakota's Automotive to anyone in search of a good mechanic. The staff are personable, professional and honest. I have used this shop multiple times and the service has always been top notch. Call Dakota's if you want it done right!

I never write reviews but in the particular instance I must! I brought my vehicle to Dakota's after another shop did a hack-up job on it and left me unable to even drive it. They were very professional, friendly and knowledgeable, they knew what they were doing. They fixed my car and had me back on the road in no time. I will be using Dakota's from now on for all my vehicles mechanical needs. Dakota and the rest of the 'crew' are the best! I highly recommend this shop!Service: Electrical

i called all around salem and came across Dakotas automotive, the owner answered and got me in right away for a pre-inspection buy. the price was the cheapest in town and the owner (Dakota) was super professional and thorough with the inspection. i would 100% recommend this shop to anyone. i ended up buying the car and will continue to use him as my mechanic! Thank you all!

Dakota was amazing. He was not only thorough but he was timely and professional. I had my car broken into and this man fixed some of my electrical issues at no cost!!! He is amazing and I will absolutely do all my work with him!!! I am extremely happy with this company.

So Disappointed. Very disorganized from the beginning. Given the wrong address over the phone. Then told to come at 8am to drop car off, office doesn't open until 8:30am. Waited 30 mins only to be blamed for miss hearing and told we would never tell someone to come at 8AM. Just very disrespectful and treated like I was stupid.Dakota was confrontational and rude. When my husband went alone Dakota told him "your wife said such and such" then when I came he told me "your husband said such and such". He tried to pin us against each other so he wouldn't have to do extra steps on our car. Dakota didn't want to take ownership for any mistakes just wanted to blame the customer for his team of employees miscommunications. He interrupted, talked over, was rude, condescending, and yelled at me over the phone.We were referred by some good friends and he did good work for them. But I have never been treated so poorly and so hostile in my life. We won't be back. We won't take our other cars. We won't send family or friends there. We would discourage anyone from doing business with someone who treats people this way.

Very respectful and fair! We went in for a total inspection and Dakota was incredibly knowledgeable about everything. He even fixed what he could in the moment for no added charge. We will definitely be returning.

As someone who's new to town and doesn't know much about cars, I'm very glad I chose Dakota's Automotive. I felt very respected and well taken care of. I went there for a full diagnostic and they were able to tell me what was wrong with my Honda in just a couple of hours!! I will definitely be going here again :)

Dakota s is the best! I took my car in first because my driver s side window was stuck in the down position. He looked at it and just knew what to do and got it up by bypassing the broken switch. Fast service, very friendly and nice. I needed new spark plugs and got an appointment very quickly and got that done today. My car runs noticeably better. He cleaned my battery cables also. They do not overcharge for their services at Dakota s and are very reasonable which incurred me to give a tip both times. I highly recommend them for all your car repair needs.

Weird Car issues. Dakota was great to make sure to explain and verbalize what the issue could be and the next steps. Issue wasn't exactly resolved but they still got a loyal customer from the experience.

Like many others that own cars and don't know much regarding their maintenance, I enter a mechanic shop with the utmost caution. I don't want to have the wool pulled over my eyes and be taken advantage of. Then my car broke down on the side of the road and I had it towed to Dakota's and for the first time ever I felt truly taken care of from start to finish. Dakota's Automotive is the definitive gold standard. Other mechanics, both corporate and privately owned, pale in comparison. You want to feel like you can trust the shop? You can trust Dakota's. You want full transparency of the work being done and needing to be done with your vehicle? You can trust Dakota's. In fact, they will take pictures and videos of everything going on and SHOW you what that means. My review photo is of my axle that had a leak and blow out (compare the left side to the right). That photo was taken by Dakota to show me exactly what was going on so that I could make an informed decision about my vehicle and with my money.Are you sick of being scared of work being done on your vehicles? Go to Dakota's. Are you sick of feeling blind to the process? Go to Dakota's. Are you sick of feeling like your money is going down the drain and not going into your vehicle? Go to Dakota's.Dakota's Automotive is, again, the gold standard and I will be recommending this shop to anyone and everyone that needs work done. There is nowhere better. Period.

I visited Dakota's to check the spark plugs and coils on my vehicle. He gave me a proper estimate, and had their tech John run tests to see what needed replacing. There was more work to be done than expected, so I was given a big break on pricing, which was appreciated. After the work was completed, Dakota showed me the worn parts and pointed out what the issues were. Everyone here did excellent work, so this shop is a first choice for maintenance.

One of the fastest and best places I have taken my drag car to in my 28 years of living. He took care of my car like it was his own and his employee was very quick and fast and respectful I highly recommend going to this place they even did a whole motor and transmission swap in my car and reinstalled my turbo kit! The same way I had it and washed my car before I picked it up now that s care!Services: Transmission, Steering & suspension repair, Brakes, Brake service & repair, Battery, Oil change

Great prices even financing options are available. Everyone was professional and experienced and they were very kind. I would recommend this shop to anyone. This is where I get all my work done. Hands down best service in Salem area.

got my window back on its tracks so i can finally roll it up and down! no more mild embarassment going theough a drive through . they also installed a new triangle window in my rear driver s side. excellent service at an affordable price. highly recommend and i ll definitely be back for any needed fixes on my 98 Honda CRV.

Dakota and his crew are amazing. I was in a pinch and needed new breaks and rotors and he was able to get me in and out and took a few extra steps to make sure I was safe getting back out there.

Dealing with insurance claims and car repairs are never much fun. The one thing that can really help is having a shop like Dakota's automotive. They may be fairly new but with Dakota as mechanic and Ashley managing the desk Dakota's automotive is sure to a success. They helped me out and if you give them a shot they'll most certainly help you too.

Love these folks! I've only had an IID installed and calibrated here, but they were very friendly, fixed issues it was having and didn't make me feel like an A-Hole. They are so nice.

Absolute goat of auto repair had my vehicle taken care of and operable in under an hour the price was more then reasonable and he had a great attitude the entire time guys even got my battery charged and everything without askin. Hands down my go to auto repair dakota is the guy for it!

My cars battery died at the top of the parking garage right across the street at the very top. I went down and asked if they could give me a jump. The owner pretty much dropped everything he was doing to come help me. He really saved me and my dog that hot day. Very kind and helpful.

Dakota is a very wise, intelligent and trustworthy individual and he knows what s up when it comes to engines, fans, belts, water pumps, and tires. He can change an engine and up your lifestyle by a lot alot

I went in on a Saturday when no one else was open because my check engine light came on. Dakota was so wonderful not only did he check the light to tell me what it was he told me how it needed to be fixed, how the parts all worked and what they looked like so I could understand what was happening with my van.
