Tried to bring my car here for differential flush. They recommended I go to jiffy lube. I m not a huge fan of being turned away from an auto mechanic for auto work but at least they were nice about it and saved me a trip down.**Update** Changed to 1 star for verification of poor customer service via reply. You can be nice and still offer poor customer service. You never once asked me my timeline, I had several days to leave my car with you for simple services but you never asked me anything. You just pushed me to another shop that couldn't even provide the proper service. It is better to ask what people need rather than tell them what they need.

Had my clutch replaced here and so far everything has been great. They beat the price of all the shops I called. They used quality parts and the service was done quickly.

I've been bringing my vehicles here for service for many years, and plan to continue. The owner and staff have always been helpful and honest with me. I'm so thankful to have a shop that I trust in town!

The only shop I trust. We drive from Portland to have them work on my vehicles. When you find the shop that works for you it's worth the drive. They've maintained a vehicle I own known for issues but it's so fun to drive I can't give it up. I haven't had issues with it since I've been using them... they keep me on the road!

It s excellent people and quality work. These guys are the premier shop in west Salem area. This is a great place to get your vehicles serviced. Great customer service. They are very efficient. We have been going here for about 6 years and all our vehicles go here. So far so good, have to get my transmission replaced with a used one because even having an extended warranty they dont even cover half. Staff was friendly.

I knew my car needed some work and was quoted over$500 by a different mechanic. Cherry City was able to look at the problem and fix it without buying any new parts, which saved me a bunch of money and was totally unexpected. My front end looked better when I got it back too and I found out they tightened down some loose bolts, cleaned out my headlights so they looked like new and readjusted the lights. My car feels safer somehow. I m very happy with the work this shop did on my car.Services: Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Oil change

Gave it a chance took 2 cars in for a transmission rebuild first time I got it back none of the linkage was hooked up 2nd time I got it back had a wrong shift kit in it and 3rd times the charm it blew up after 2 months on my way to work down 3k and back to square 1 mind you it's a unmodified mid 80s automatic gm transmissionUpdate bolth transmissions have failed under 4 months from leaving this shopOne is a manual and the other is a automatic(On the response yall won't see the cars back took them to sunnyview and Tony had them fixed in a few days at a good price and we haven't had any problems with his workAnd the warinty bit is confusingwe were told word for word we take the car as is from yall to and I own the 2 cars names on the titles and all)Service: Transmission

We were headed up towards Canada when we had a few lights come on the dash of our Subaru Impreza signaling a transmission issue. We took it to Cherry City Transmission and they were able to help us out the same day with a new valve body. Sophar was extremely helpful and Bono did great and thorough work on the car. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone and would come back if I was in the area and needed to! The price felt fair and was not a scam.

We needed a new mechanic and gave Cherry City Transmissions a try. They do more than just transmissions! They have worked on three of our vehicles now. They are quick, professional and their prices are reasonable. I highly recommend them!1-5-23 update...Cherry City Transmission continues to deliver for us! My mom's check engine light came on and they got her car in, quickly diagnosed the problem and had it fixed quickly and for a reasonable price!

Let me start by saying, I have never written a review for any business because the service was never exceptional. My experience with Cherry City Transmission was exceptional! I took my 69 Camaro in for a ticking issue coming from the transmission area. Cherry City Transmission got me in the same day, it was on the rack within 20 minutes, and I got a call back with a diagnosis within a couple hours. I was provided my options and the issue was fixed the very next morning. Start to finish, well under 24 hours. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional.

My experience with Cherry City was amazing. My jeep kept coming up with new issues to be address and Sophar kept me up to date and worked so professionally with me. I highly recommend this shop. They aren't just a lube shop so they take the care needed to make sure Its safe and ready for the road.

Our family had two great experiences at Cherry City Transmissions! Sophar was professional and honest. They repaired a gas leak and did work on our breaks. They went above and beyond what we were expecting, and their rates were very affordable. I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a great shop in Salem!

Cherry city transmissions was accommodating and went above and beyond to help me out with my car. Had a problem with my distributor, fuel ignition and fuel filters and they fixed the problem in a timely manner. My car is running so smoothly and I fully recommend that you check this place out! Sophar, the manager, is an amazing guy and is more than willing to help you out! Go see them!

I live out of state, and these guys "owned" my transmission problem from start to finish. To start with, they coordinated my tow and put the towing costs on my invoice. During the process of looking for a transmission repair facility in Salem, I learned a lot. For one thing, other establishments prefer to simply have customers buy a new transmission or a rebuild. Cherry City rebuilds your transmission so they know what goes into it and can stand by their warranty...for approximately 25% less than quotes I got for a rebuild/new transmission. When I returned to Washington state and advised them that I had a couple minor issues to address, rather than give me the run around, they estimated what it would cost to resolve the non-critical issues there, and on the spot, put a check in the mail same day; more than fair I thought, especially under the circumstances. From Jessica in the front office, to all of the technicians I spoke with, I felt fortunate that I found these transmission experts and would gladly recommend them to anyone.

Brought my volvo here a couple times. Honest answers and work is what I got from cherry city. I was very pleased with the way my repairs where handled. Very thorough with their diagnostics got me back up and running in a timely manner. Just a busy little shop so make sure you call before picking up your vehicle.

I believe that I was ripped off, basically cheated out of $125. I called them and described the symptoms. I told him it wouldn't go in gear. They said that they would have to take off the pan and do an inspection and they would do all of that and then let me know but that for them to take off the pan and do the inspection it would be $85. The company owner arrived with a jeep and trailer to pick up my explorer. The battery was dead so he couldn't retrieve my vehicle. He sent a local tow truck to pick it up. They took it to their shop and their mechanic got in and it wouldn't go in gear just like I told them. They told me it would be $1800 to put in rebuilt. I asked the mechanic if he had taken off the pan and did the inspection and he said no. He said didn't have to because since it wouldn't engage he knew what was wrong. I got it fixed at another shop. I bought a used xmsn for $350 and had it put in for $300 plus fluids, so it cost me far less than half what they wanted. The rip off was that I didn't get the promised pan removal and inspection of the XMSN but they wouldn't give me my explorer back until I paid. I believe that I was cheated and that they should make it right and at least refund the $85. I don't mind the tow bill but I do mind that they didn't do take off the pan and do the inspection as they had promised me on the phone. He made me sign the agreement before he'd give me back my vehicle.

I had a good experience at Cherry City. Sophar was professional, efficient and courteous every step of the way. The work was done exactly on time and for $150 less than the estimate. I would not hesitate to bring my vehicle in again.

Love, love Cherry City Transmissions. Their New Owner is Great! We were told that our Mini Cooper would have to go to Portland to be worked on. How happily surprised we were to find out that Cherry City Transmission, right here in West Salem, can fix our Mini Cooper.They did a great job and we are now taking our Jeep Grand Cherokee to them to be repaired also.

Had an issue with the manual trans in my C5 Corvette. Been having clutch issues as well. Apparently it was beyond the diagnostic skills of the dealer. Long story short, Larry at Cherry City took great care of me and my car, did exactly what he said he'd do and at exactly the price he said he'd do it at. My car has never driven better. Thanks Larry, and thanks to the whole Cherry City crew.

I dropped the car off on a Monday and was told by Larry he should have it done in 3 days.He told me he would call with an exact price after removal and internal inspection of the transmission.On thursday I called to check on the status, and was told Larry would give me a call back.His response when he returned my call was "I heard you called AGAIN"."No, I called because you said you would call with an exact price for the repairs".He gave me the cost of the repairs, and it was at the top of their original estimate.He said he would finish the repairs on the transmission either late Thursday, or Friday morning, and if the install team had time they would place the transmission in the car friday, but if not he assured me it would be ready Monday, but, he stated "he calls his customers on Friday afternoon to give them a status update".I called again after 2:30 p.m. Monday and was told the car would be finished tomorrow or Wednesday.I have never received a call with the exeption of a returned call to give me an exact price after i called to inquire about the status and cost.So far I have yet to receive a call from cherry city transmission, as promised by Larry, regarding the status or cost unless I initiate the call, and they will be at best 8 days into a job that was stated to take 3.Not what I would consider good Customer service or communication.Let's hope the repairs are better than their communication.

I took a vehicle in to Cherry City to get an estimate on some suspension modifications, which their website claims they offer, and which I called to verify - sure, bring it on in.It must have been a bad day, as the three gentlemen in the shop were clearly at odds with each other. They had to pull a vehicle out to get my vehicle in, and so they had to push it out. One guy refused to push it out at all when asked by his boss (the owner), so the owner ran and got his jeep and actually pushed the vehicle out of the shop with his Jeep - they were thoughtful enough to put a 2x4 in between the two bumpers. I'm just glad that wasn't my Tahoe they were bumping and moving.It was about this time I wanted my keys back and was ready to say forget it. Soon after they finally monkeyed around enough to get my vehicle in, the mechanic came out and told me they couldn't do the suspension work, that it was too complicated, and I'd be better off to just buy a new truck. Keep in mind this was to replace a lift with a leveling kit - it's not that complicated for a shop that claims to do lifts. I asked why they had wasted my time and theirs to even bother if they knew it wasn't something they could do. The answer - well, we just do what the owner wants.Guys - you've got to get it together if you expect to get any business.

Overcharged for work. Don't expect to have leave your car there if you can't afford the work inmediately either. You would need to work 7 days a week at a minimum wage job to pay their nightly storage fee. They were nice people and seemed really cool at first, but i have nothing nice to say about them now. If you like your car or your money, don't bother

I called Cherry City because my car was having electrical problems and the lights wouldn't work. They got me right in, found the problem, fixed it, and saved the faulty part for me, as well as charging me a very reasonable price, and getting my car back to me the same day. I'm very happy with their service
