First I have to say I rarely rarely leave reviews unless my experience was either extremely poor or absolutely fantastic. I have to say this place is absolutely fantastic! Ace Automotive is awesome! I had a side mechanic doing my bearings and had a portable press that apparently was not going to work. And Ace Automotive got me out of a really tough spot because the side mechanic got frustrated and literally told me unless I could figure out how to get the bearings pressed in and out myself he was going to have to leave me hanging. And I had a 10-year anniversary trip and a Boudoir photo shoot scheduled that was all non-refundable. Without them being willing to press my bearing in and out for me AND at an extremely reasonable price my whole trip and anniversary would have been ruined. The guys that work here are great and I highly recommend them.

Went into ACE automotive today to get both of our vehicles oil changed and both time out of there within a hour with no appointments. Extremely professional, timely and effective! We will always support small business especially when the service is this good!!

Spent 1100 dollars for them to fix my car. But they didn t fix my car. took it in to fix burning oil made me spend 1100 dollars got it back said they fixed it, still burns oil and is now making a noise, clearly don t know what they are doing and just want to spend more money.

Bob, Ben and all the guys at Ace Automotive are so professional, helpful at answering my many questions as well as solving problems with all of our vehicles from my daughters Honda to my F-150. I love the honesty, integrity and strong ethics that all the guys have that seem to line up with Bob Walsh s original mission for the last 30 years. A lady friend was having a problem with her car. At my suggestion, she had the codes read for free at Auto Zone, where they gave her a print out of what the problem was and the parts needed to hopefully fix it. Notice - this was free! A price on the parts would also have been free.ACE Automotive was recommended to her by a lady friend of hers, so she took her car there. They read the codes again, we think, and this time charged her over $110 to tell her exactly what Auto Zone told her.The only difference was to spend a few minutes to look up the price of the parts and standard book labor fees and print it out.Technically, since they had the Auto Zone print out, they did not even have to touch the car. Get this, if she had simply called in and ask how much to get the parts installed - the quote would likely have been free. The same if she has simply given them the Auto Zone print out and asked for a quote.This elderly lady [ sucker to them ] is on a very limited income. If they would do this, how can they be trusted at all?As a male, I have called and asked quick questions to mechanic shops before and had them politely give me a price based on no other problems later being found when doing the work.The other day I called a mechanic shop I know and asked for a ball park price on how much to get a small V6 engine over hauled. It took them 2 minutes to tell me that for them to pull and re-install a motor plus the machine shop average fee I would be looking around $$$. 2 minutes and no charge.This was Zurfluh in Scio. Harolds in W Salem is just as nice.

Bob went the extra mile for us. We broke down on i5, we barely made it to Ace. Bob (Owner) got us back on the road within 1 hour.We would've been stuck If it wasn't for them.They are very talented automatics & cost was very reasonable. The service it was priceless.If you are experiencing car problems in Salem, this is the place.

UPDATE:I still want to like these folks but after nine months, I found an issue with their work. I was planning in being in Salem again and asked if I could drop by to have them look at the car and show them what I found. They were unwilling and would only offer me the telephone number for their third-party warranty service provider. Everyone knows third-party warranty providers never actually provide warranty work. Kind if a slimy move on their part. Down from five stars to three.ORIGINAL:I live in Seattle but lead a busy enough life and travel around enough that I m not able to work on my own vehicles most of the time anymore.I figured during my current trip to Salem that I would get some work done to one of our vehicles that I knew it needed.I read a few reviews of this shop online and got a good feeling from those reviews so I figured I d give them a shot. I am really glad I did. This shop did an amazing job and provided me with awesome customer service.I still cringe every time I have to pay somebody else to work on my vehicles now but their pricing for the work was fair and competitive.I ve made a spot check as best as I can on the handling of my engine components and am pleased with the care I ve seem was taken.If it is ever convenient for me to have a vehicle worked on while in a trip to this area again, I will be coming here. I highly recommend anyone in the Salem area looking for a good shop to check them out.Service: Auto maintenance

Ace is an Amazing Repair shop, Took care of all of the major problems with my vehicle. They did a really good professional job working with me on what I needed them to do as well. Really appreciate that they were completely Thorough without breaking the bank and made it run like it should. Definitely a job really well done on all levels. Great Service. Feel like I can trust my vehicle again which is a huge relief. Second time using these guys they are great I have no complaints they're great with communication, they let you know what's going on, their goal is to get to the root of the problem not put a Band-Aid over it and toss it back on the road. Edit: the vehicle is registered in my name, carmax just dropped it off so of course you don t see my name on there. I am perfectly happy in my personal life so to insinuate that is disrespectful and shows the kind of business you are. I have brought up this concern in person and not a single person tried to resolve the issue.This place has had my truck a day and a half and has yet to have done more than look at it from a distance . These are the most unprofessional, disrespectful people I ve ever worked with to get my vehicle repaired. This has happened multiple times where the vehicle just sits and they don t know what the tech s have done okay then go ask them! It s not hard to treat customers with the most minimal respect. I bought a Toyota Tundra from Carmax and it had a noise coming from the engine. Carmax sent me to Ace Automotive and Ben was amazing he got me in right away. They replaced the power steering pump and that helped but it still had a little noise so Ben wanted to have the vehicle for a couple days to go over everything. Carmax got me a loaner and I dropped off the truck. Alternator wa replaced and no more noise. Great customer service and very speedy. I was amazed that they were able to get me in as fast as they did because they are a very busy shop and I can see why. Any problems with my vehicles and I know where to take them. Can't believe I had to listen to some manager in the shop swearing and cussing at employees. If their manager acts like that I can't imagine that their management is any good - which boils down to service not being good. Took my car elsewhere, after I got the quote.

I spend the majority of my days driving. My windshield wipers were terrible. I stopped at Ace just to buy some new wipers. He gave me a few options but I opted to order some new wipers that were supposed to be great. They came in the next day and Ace actually installed them for me. Thank you for that, great service. And now I can literally drive in the rain without using my wipers if I want to. Very very cool! I love them! The price was fair and people really nice. I will be back for sure!

Ace is, in my opinion, the best auto shop ive ever in used and I'm 60 yrs old. I've been to 12-15 auto shops in my life. None compare to Ace. The work they have done was phenomenal and on time. I'm bringing my other cars to them also. My company is in Networks with Ace, so I was recommended to check them out. I am so glad I did. Bob is honest about pricing. I have been to several auto shops that may try to tack on more repairs than you need, but you can definitely trust the team here.

The mechanic identified the problems and fixed them. He knew what he was doing. He didn't go on a fishing expedition like my last mechanic, replacing unnecessary parts hoping to solve the troubles. My van runs perfectly again. I'd give a perfect score if the bill had been a little lower, but it's almost impossible to get someone who is both good at their job and more affordable. So I'm quite satisfied.

Ben and Bob are great! My car seemed to not work with anything that should have worked to fix it. The workers (idk their names) did awesome and were able to figure it out. So far so good! Will definitely be back.

Had one of are trucks break down that we really had to have to keep up with are scheduled projects. They had it towed in for us and fixed the bad ignition the next day. Thanks Great job

I heard a strange sound from under the hood of my car. I took it into Ace mainly because they were close to my work. They identified the problem, after a full diagnostic, and gave me two options; install a new part for $1200.00 or find a used part. I found a used part and I saved over $900.00. I love these guys. Honest, reliable, experienced.

So i have a company vehicle, and i do a lot of the basic maintenance myself, things like oil changes, brakes, e.t.c. it saves my company a lot of money. For the larger things, or things i don't have the equipment for to do myself (alignment required repairs), i use the Enterprise efleets account we have for all of our other vehicles. During an approval process, Ben, told me enterprise wanted to also do an oil change and brake fluid flush. I told him no, that i do that on my own. And to share the full reason, it's because my vehicle doesn't specify via manufacturer recommendation the type of oil (conventional or synthetic). Well, most people who know a Nissan engine knows that in the last 10 years, know that they were switching from conventional to full synthetic. My car is a 2014, hybrid synthetic is best, AND that's what I've been using. Plus my car has 160k miles on it, so high mileage oil at that. Enterprise authorizes conventional only because there is no guidance or instruction to pay for the higher priced oil in the manual (there is literally no mention of whether to use conventional or synthetic)... even though that's what's best. But i am a mechanic too, and i work on vehicles.To do it myself is still cheaper no matter where you go. But because im doing my own oil changes, enterprise isn't being updated on these repairs (that's a feedback issue on enterprise's behalf- their issue) but the issue i had was when Ben insisted he had to do what enterprise said, as if me, the REAL consumer had no say. I have taken an extreme amount of care with this car. I am a technical manager with my company, not some peon. He proceeded to threaten me saying he was 'telling enterprise im refusing required repairs', to bully me into submission to do the repairs at ace automotive. To threaten me with informing enterprise that I'm refusing "required" maintenance is insulting and downright unethical. I can only imagine other enterprise-using employees who have similar standings who may not have the clout i do with their companies... only to make a few extra dollars. This company should be embarrassed to have an employee like Ben.My company will ultimately foot the bill. Enterprise is designed to give approvals on maintenance to vehicles that our managers would otherwise not be educated on to give authorization. That is why my company utilizes enterprise. But the money still comes from us. Ben would have put enterprise in a bad standing with my company for double paying on services already performed (not to mention damaging my vehicle for putting in conventional vs the last 100k miles using synthetic hybrid). Ben, learn some better customer service and understand where the real money comes from. I hope you get some training with this. I know im telling everyone not to do business with Ace.

Excellent customer service, the guys at ace addressed my issues quickly and got me back on the road without overcharging me for repairs that were not essential. They do a good job of informing you what needs too be fixed right away and what things can wait.
