We had the delightful experience in our transactions with both Joe Strong and Andy- his Service Manager. Our Chevy Tahoe at over 300k miles needed a new engine. After presenting us with multiple bid options and a fount of knowledge to go with each bid, we came to a decision to have Auto Experts install a new engine for us. They did a superior job!! The estimated time frame we were provided was right on target, and no hidden fees presented when they were done. Our car runs beautifully now and we couldn t be happier with the service we have received at Auto Experts. We recommend them immensely!!Services: Engine repair, Auto maintenance

I have lived in Redmond for 6 years now and have only ever owned 10-20 year old Ford F-150 s. I ve had two since I ve lived here and gone through several mechanics and even a dealer and became very frustrated with the service received. I wish I could remember how I got directed to Auto Experts but I m certainly glad I did. Andy & Joe are as knowledgeable and trustworthy as they come and I m going to need them as I don t see myself buying a new truck any time soon - would highly recommend!Service: Auto exhaust system repair

I have had EXCELLENT interactions (multiple) with Andy and some of the technicians. I have never met anyone else at the front of the shop.They have worked on my truck multiple times and diagnosed multiple issues on multiple cars for me. Andy has made me happy to give my business to Auto Experts.The one issue that I have is the quality of parts used by the shop. I had a distributor put on my truck and it started having issues recently (roughly 7 months later). My family s longtime trusted shop (in Eastern Oregon) looked over the truck and noted that this distributor was a subpar quality part.Other than potentially low quality parts, I have been happy to be a customer here and plan to continue visiting them. Went in to get my a/c fixed and me and my 3 year old got to watch Netflix in a very comfortable lounge while they were working. Reasonably priced and super friendly staff! Highly recommend

Had Auto Experts modify my exhaust on my pickup due to poor clearance of the Y-pipe and front drive shaft. I was happy with the results. They moved the pipe back so it no longer was in the way of the drive shaft and also was clear of the transmission pan, making future maintenance of the transmission easier. The routing of the pipe also seems to be in a way that 4x4 activity will not be a problem. Nice finish work, looked well-done. Andy had great communication via email and phone. Responded quickly and called with an update in the middle of the job. Work was done quickly, would have been same day but had to wait for a part to come in. Proactively active military/veteran-friendly.Service: Exhaust

My transmission fried. Went to another place in town, and was estimated to take 4 months before I could get it worked on.Auto experts was suggested so I tried them. They were incredibly busy and estimated 3 weeks until they could work on my car. 2 weeks and they had a spot.Very knowledgeable, professional, courteous, and expeditious. They will be a "go-to" from now on. They identified other issues that need fixing and when available, I fully intend to take care of everything needed by them, and them only while I'm in Central Oregon. Bravo Zulu

I had my 2003 Subaru Forester XS 5 speed manual transmission replace here. Lucky Joe, the owner, had one that would work with my Forester.I had 211,000 miles on it, and eventually a bearing is known to go out on those transmissions. Anyway, the work was done in quick time, even though they had to get some other axel shafts at the last minute. Had the clutch completely change too! They couldn't believe that I got 211,000 out of the clutch! I'm easy on my clutches!Bottom line is they are awesome, and run a tight ship. A clean shop, and clean place.Five stars, because there isn't ten!Service: Transmission repair

I have spent 20 years in service. I'm a certified Master Tech and have gone from service writing, tech on the floor, service manager, branch manager to area manager. Unfortunately, I know why there is an inherent mistrust of the field in general. I have primarily worked heavy duty and used to pride myself in the fact that people would go out of their way to get their trucks to my shop because they new they could trust me - sometimes it's hard to find a shop where that's the case. Being somewhat new in the area, I found myself needing to find an automobile shop, so I started extensively researching reviews. Nobody gets 100% perfect reviews in this world - often people do not fully understand or are angry about the situation the broken vehicle has put them in and the only person they can take it out on is the one giving them the news. The first time I used them was for my sisters car, I spoke with Joe, the owner, and he was very professional and helpful. They were able to get her in within the week, and had it done when expected at just under the estimate, which was a fair amount. I then needed to get my daughters car in for multiple issues, hinting at a failure i was worried could've been a head gasket. They were very busy, but were able to at least take a look at it within the week, determine it wasn't the head gasket or block and identify several items and provide a quote. I didn't realize the kids took the car to another shop (Redmond Auto Service/Tire Pros) when I was out of town 6 months earlier, until discussing the quote with them. When they provided me the work order, I found out that all issues were related to repairs done at that time in addition to some progressive damage to the radiator. I had to have Auto Experts pull it back out so I could have it towed to the other shop for warranty, and am still waiting for it to be looked at. Through the entire process, Andy never got frustrated with my questions, always returned my phone calls the same day, and they were again very fair in what they charged for the inspection/diag. I was also able to pay over the phone, get my work order e-mailed, and they got the car handed over to the tow company for me. I don't have a single negative critique and will continue to do business and send business their way.Service: Engine repair

Fantastic shop! I've been to 3 or 4 other shops in Redmond and Bend and they all did sub-par work or were extremely expensive in the case of the Ford dealer. Auto Experts has exceeded every one of my expectations and they deserve MORE than five stars! Joe, the owner, has answered SO many of my questions and is never too busy to talk to customers and make them feel as comfortable as possible in his shop. He and his crew are nothing short of car geniuses. High praise, normally I'm pretty picky and I know enough about cars to know when I'm being screwed over. Auto Experts are quick and effective and have never overcharged me or tried to sell me parts I didn't need. I was told I would need a new engine in my truck by another shop, and they diagnosed, fixed the issue, and got it back out in a matter of a couple days. The best part being that they charged me less than $300 and completely resolved my issue! No new engine for me! I also had a clutch go out recently on my civic. They received the car from the tow truck and I was back driving it in less than 24hrs! Amazing.Please don't waste your time with other shops. I've done it already. Thank you Auto Experts!

If I could give 6 stars, I would!My transmission went out 3 hours from home and I was towed to the nearest auto repair shop which happened to be Auto Experts in Redmond. I left my car there on a Sunday and left a voicemail explaining my situation. I got a call that Sunday from the owner Joe (on his day off) who told me he would check out the situation first thing on Monday. I overnighted my keys in the mail from back home and they called the next day to say that the keys had not been delivered yet. Joe went so far to go to the post office to get them himself since I hadn't mailed them to the proper PO Box. He kept in constant communication and what I figured would be a thousands of dollars issue turned out to only be a hundreds of dollars issue. Joe ordered the damaged parts for me and completed the repair in great time and with great communication. I was able to pay and do everything on the phone without ever meeting anyone that worked here. What amazing customer service! Would consider driving all the way to Redmond just to have my car fixed again. Thanks Joe and team!!! You're a life saver!

Our 2002 Trailblazer was running rough. I changed the spark plugs and that didn't cure it. I took it to Joe and his crew and they found it had a dead coil pack. They recommended an engine flush and injector cleaning, also. I had them service the engine and transmission while they had the car. It runs like it did when we first got it, now. They were right on the money with their quote. They got the job done on time and on budget. They also noted some things that will need attention in the future. We couldn't be happier. I highly recommend Joe and the crew at Auto Experts. (Having been a vehicle mechanic myself for years, I am quite impressed with Joe & his crew's knowledge, professionalism, honesty and caring attitude)

Take your vehicle here! I don't know how else to phrase it. It is so rare to find a mechanic shop run by a guy like Joe. He does things the right way and he does them transparently and honestly. I am not from Redmond, Oregon or anywhere close to Redmond, but my car had troubles as I was passing through Redmond. I took my car here based on the shop's good Google reviews and I am so glad I did. I showed up at closing time. All the staff was still very busy not done with the day's tasks. Joe helped me and was very kind and patient despite being at the end of the day. I explained my situation. I was so vulnerable. I was in a bind. I had no choice but to fix my car. I was from out of town, so I would not be a return customer. I did not have the time or the ability to check with other mechanic shops. Bottom line: I was the mechanic's dream customer to take advantage of. However, the opposite happened at this shop. I have been taking vehicles to mechanics for 20 years, many times to people I have had good relationships with. Nobody has ever treated me as well and with as much kindness as Joe did here in Redmond. Competence, honesty, and fairness is what Joe runs his shop with. If you don't take your vehicle to him after reading this then I don't no what else to say. I will likely never be in Redmond again, but for anybody who is ever in Redmond, pay this shop a visit. You will be taken care of.

My son went to different shop in Redmond twice. They melted his bumper and said the couldn't get it to mount correctly(exhaust). Then they told him they could put his new headers on for him. They had my sons car for 8 hours then called and told him" they didn't have the right parts." Then a week later his car went haywire. We decided to take it to Auto Experts. I dont know all the mechanical lingo but there was quite a bit wrong. It took them less than 24 hours to fix it. The next week they installed his headers. They are all very personalble. Very reasonable. Would recommend to anyone

I like this place quite a lot. I had a brake job done for all tires, a good portion of which was to fix another shops work. The brake job was awesome. Fast forward several weeks and I needed to swap over tires to a different set already on rims. The lug nuts were so tight that I ultimately had to use a heavy breaker bar to get the lug nuts free... all except the last one which (of course because of it being the last one) stripped. I called the shop and vented about this, they had me come back, fixed and replaced the lug nut, AND, put the other tires on for me. These guys have complete honesty and integrity and I would/will recommend them to anyone.

We broke down just before we were to reach our hotel. When you are on vacation that can be a disaster! How do you find a good, honest, and kind mechanic? Well, you pray if you're me and call the Auto Experts! Andy got us in the next day and what could've been a huge cost turned out to be a fraction thanks to his thorough assessment and quick response. I can't say enough good things about my experience! Truly a very clean, professional place. He took care of me ahead of schedule and went above and beyond for this out-of-towner.

I thought I had died and went to auto repair heaven. I made an appointment over the phone for 1pm. I arrived 10 minutes early. They got my information and told me it would be 2-1/2 hours. Immediately at 1pm they started servicing my car and 2-1/2 hours later they were done. The problem was fixed and at a very reasonable cost. These guys are great; I highly recommend them.Service: Transmission

I had my F350 Powerstroke towed into Auto Experts after a local oil lube drive thru destroyed my engine after having a oil change done. I hadn't ever been to Auto Experts before, but after talking to Joe, Brent and Jarred I felt like my truck was in good hands. After the other shops insurance finally agreed to pay all the repairs everything went great. Joe ordered another engine and the work began. I was amazed at the work Jarred did when swapping the engines. He even took pictures at different stages to show me what had been done. I would recommend Auto Experts for there honest and excellent work. My truck runs great.Thank You Very Much!!!

I was extremely pleased and impressed with the level of customer service we received and the quality of the repairs on our VW Jetta. We dropped by with a exhaust problem and Joe took the time to put it on the rack and found the problem. He made a great temporary repair and ordered the part. 4 days later, the repairs were completed to 100% and needless to say, we are very pleased.So Joe and his team get a 10 out of 10. I would highly recommend them and will use them again in the future when the need arises.Thanks JOE!

I recently took my car to them for what I thought would be a full tune up. They checked and called me back saying all I needed was replace my spark plugs. The total bill came to 135.dollars not 250 or more this is truly a fair and reasonable repair job . I recommend Auto Experts and will be back again for a repairs needed.

I was almost 10 minutes late, no problem by them. First time using Auto Experts. So, went in blind kinda. They were very polite, followed mandates set forth. Took a summary of what needed done. Non-working front window sprayer stopped working and a serpentine belt replaced(I supplied) in a 2008 Matrix. I was able ro wait while work was being done, in their wonderful sitting area( wifi, tv, Hulu, amazon prime, etc. Also a coffee, tea and water to drink) very nice. Took 1.5 hours later our car was fixed. Cost was labor and a small 15 dollars for the hose. Beyond pleased with the service I received. I would recommend to anyone, for your car maintenance. Thieves! These guys charged me MORE to assess the problems with my car than another mechanic in Redmond charged me to re-assess, fix AND do a few other things to my car. They are absolutely not to be trusted. They told me I needed to replace things that the other mechanic easily repaired himself. No need for spendy parts or rebuilt kits. I will never take my car here again. HIGHWAY ROBBERY!!!!

The exhaust pipe was heating bike tires on my bike rack to the point of popping. I took the car to Auto Experts and the fashioned an extension to redirect the heat/exhaust away from the tires for $20 bucks and sent me on my way in less than 30 minutes. The thing is easily removed/installed is custom fitted and works like a charm!

We were on a roadtrip when we had issues with leaking brake fluid/no brakes. Joe helped us out in huge way! I can't thank him enough for getting us in and back on the road so we could get home (Washington). Very professional service and kind.

I was convinced my transmission had a crack in it. So I took it to Joe and he gave me a bid for a new transmission upon further inspection the transmission was fine and he only did what was needed. He is very honest and could have made 4K more off of me but showed true integrity.
