Was worried about finding a reliable mechanic in the area and the folks at Bear Auto Repair delivered. Front office staff are super nice and the auto techs they employ had no issues showing me exactly what was wrong. Quoted me for a major repair and ended up coming *UNDER* their estimate! Don't try to upsell services you won't need just to make a buck, either. I usually work on my own stuff, but if I need someone to work on my car I'd give these folks a call. Just honest and hardworking folks providing a valuable service, they will keep getting my business.Service: Steering & suspension repair

I had 5 dash lights come on, one blinking, on a Saturday. Called the following Monday morning when they opened and they were able to get my car in immediately and even had it pulled around before I was picked up! They had it diagnosed and ordered the valve body for the transmission that day, and had it fixed on Tuesday! Super quick, which was just a lifesaver when you need your car for work!Service: Transmission

I took my escalade pickup to two different shops and they couldn't fix stabilitrack - and 1 was the cadillac dealership who charged me $2200 & as soon as i drove 5 miles, engine light and stabilitrack came back on!These guys took it in and knew exactly what to do and fixed it!! Many thanks to Nicole, Robin, little Ellie and the mechanics who worked on it! Was done the same day and didn't break the bank!! Love these people! Highly recommend this shop!!My family has been going to this shop for years! I've taken two of my own vehicles and the guys go above and beyond each time. This last visit resulted in repairs I wasn't even aware of needing, as the car was new to me and I just didn't know the features weren't functioning.The prices are extremely reasonable and the staff are friendly and trustworthy. They stay busy, so give yourself enough lead time for big repairs!! It's definitely worth any wait!Thanks Bear Auto!! See you next time!

Absolutely an amazing shop! Fit me in when I honestly thought my hunting trip was over, Robyn and the boys got me in and fixed up so I could keep hunting. Absolutely some of the best customer service I've ever had, and they were true life savers! Thank you Bear Auto for the amazing service and not letting my hunting trip be over!

Will not recommend,the good reviews must have been for the previous owners. I went in told them I was a disabled Vet and needed to get the exact amount because I m on a fixed income ,for repairs I was told a basic fee the lady called later and updated me on truck, at that point before authorizing any further repairs I asked how much it was going to be to get my truck back she said the basic and the repairs would be a total of just under $300 when I went to get truck the lady I talked to was not there and another blonde woman said she made a mistake on giving me the price she did. They stuck me for an additional $150 diagnostic fee which she said is standard policy and was not included in price I got the other lady made a mistake while trying to make her understand what my problem was she said she did not want to talk anymore about it and if I wanted my truck $450.00 as far as I m concerned they ripped me off as others have said get it in writing but better yet go to somewhere else or one of the other reputable shops in the area. Didn t want to give a star but had too.

I've had two experiences with Bear Auto over the last couple months and both were very positive. They have fair prices and provide quality work. Robin is great and the mechanic who worked on my truck answered all my questions when I picked it up. Good people.

Took a car in for a pre-buy inspection and I'm glad I did. They where able to point things out that I would not have seen. Very nice and understanding. I'm glad I choose them for this service. I highly recommend themThis is how much they saved me in needed repairs

Was out of town in Prineville when our trucks alternator decided to go out on us, we googled local shops and bear had a great rating so we called and instantly know why. Great service from the moment I called, told us to bring it right in so we go there a hour before they closed they got the part right then and there - replaced it in less then a half hour the same day even though it was so close to them closing. The cost was great, less then quoted over phone. Great customer service and group of guys. I'm tempted anytime I have a issue to drive the 3 hours to bring my truck back to them. I will recommend to anyone in the area if ever asked! Even gave us some ideas of areas to check out while hunting.

My car broke down, I live 3 hours away in Portland. I had my CRV towed to Bear - I was desperate, stuck, and know nothing about cars. Bear could have EASILY upsold me on many other issues. They only repaired what was needed, and were fair, honest, good communicating and reasonable. for sure.

Great receptionist! She was extremely helpful, patient and equipped with well thought out suggestions to get me the best price she could without compromising the important things I needed addressed. Give that girl a raise, or stock in the business, or double Christmases this year, cuz she deserves it!

Off and on customer for 9 years. .Service above and beyond expectations with very fair prices. Told them I thought my muffler had a hole in it and might need replacement. A very easy sale! They examined it free and said the muffler was fine. Dont replace it!.

I've been going here a while now and I absolutely love these guys! Robin and Russell are great at what they do. I never have any issues with anything, and they're very accommodating where they can be. I highly recommend them!

These guys have taken care of my rigs for quite some time now. You hate to see your long-time mechanic retire, but it happens. The new team has followed in his footsteps with great customer service, experience, eagerness to keep you on the road. I've referred many friends and they've had positive experiences likewise. Cannot say enough about this establishment!I called in with a bad front blinker on my Dodge Ram. Said to bring it right in and they'd get it fixed. I'd already checked, online, and knew that I wasn't ready to tackle it. The fellows had me back on the road in maybe a half hour, and that included figuring out how to pull the headlight assembly and my enjoying standing there and kibitzing with the mechanics!I'd definitely recommend this repair shop.

I've gone to bear auto before the new owners/mechanics and, recently, after. We were pleasantly surprised to find that they met the standard of professionalism - expectations set by the previous mechanic/owner. There was only one hiccup in that the piece needed to fix our issue had a shipping delay. This was right around the time when the mountain passes were pretty much shut down do to the weather so it wasn't their fault at all.

We had a major breakdown with our VW Vanagon, and Bear s was recommended for service. I am always anxious that shops that claim to know vanagons actually DO know vanagons (they are obsolete vehicles and require experienced vanagon mechanics for proper service). After a serious conversation about our concerns, problem, and course of action, Russ, the owner, had me convinced he knew his stuff. In the actual event, he proved it, and as painful as the diagnosis was, the service was excellent and the cost was reasonable. Robin at the front desk also knows vanagons and offered helpful suggestions, and was altogether a very pleasant person. I highly recommend this shop. They are good people.6/15/21 UPDATE: we have learned that some of the advice from Russ was for repairs later determined to be unnecessary. If we had taken this advice it would have cost significant money and delay on our trip. In short, we were apparently lied to.

I came in from out of town to work and my truck decided to have trouble. At first I heard everything from a bad O2 sensor to ruined transmission. Called the shop and told me to bring it on down. A week later they had it diagnosed and fixed at an unbelievably reasonable price! Everyone was so nice and made a super stressful time so much easier. Thank you so much!

3600$ worth of engine work, made it 214 miles. First grade we pulled, engine blew up. Refused to help in any way. Wouldn't warrantee anything told us engine work was a gamble. Quoted us 7k on top of what we just spent for new engine. Not good people. Wouldn't go there for anything. AA auto next door is a way better choice.Service: Engine repairService: Engine repair

They fixed a wiring issue with my vehicle and were done far before expected and saved us a ton of money. All our company vehicles will be brought here. Highly recommended and fairly priced.

Was a great auto place to go to before it changed mechanics. I bought a car from them that they had worked on some things went wrong with the stuff that they had worked on and they refuse my warranty and this is after I not only bought the car from them did other work on the car brought my other vehicle to them and recommended them to other people. This is not the company that you wanna take your your car to. I recommend you go somewhere else that has people who will stand behind their warranties.

Friendliest guys around. Had truck problems stopped by on a Sunday when the shop was closed. Without any hesitation they put the truck on the hoist, and let me know my problem. Definitely made my day with the family in the truck having to drive over the pass. Thank you guys for taking the time to help my family and I. We appreciate you!!!!!!!

Took my car in the day before the July 4th weekend to get a new starter. When asked when I needed it, I responded "sometime next week" to which they stated they're pretty busy but should be done Tue. or Wed. Being patient, I waited until Fri. before calling to ask about it. They apologized that they got so busy that I got looked over. They imediately got the starter and installed it. Normally I would have fround upon this, but I did say "sometime" next week and they came through. Despite my vagueness, they continued to apologize and compensated me with a free oil change WITHOUT me saying a word about it. For this I give them 5 stars. Their overall service is great,they're nice people, and my car is back up and running. I'm completely happy and would recomend them to anyone. It was just an unfortunate mishap that I was overlooked on a very busy hooliday weekend.

Russ pressed a carrier bearing housing onto the intermediate shaft of a CV axle for me. Both Robyn and Russ were very friendly, and the work was well done with no scuffing or or curling of the metal on either piece. Affordable, fast, and hospitable business. I'll certainly return in the future.

I had a great experience they were able to fix a problem that had continued to get worse since my last experience with another mechanic from Prineville recently whom never fixed my car correctly.

Nice guys. Had to get a belt fixed, quoted me a good price and finished ahead of schedule. They found more problems which raised the price, so they were courteous enough to help with the cost.

Was passing through town and truck broke down in the evening..whole family was stranded...These guys talked to me on the phone and ordered new parts at risk before I even had the truck towed or provided any payment info, then stayed open late, past 10:00pm on a Saturday night and had the truck fixed that night! Amazing service!

Honest and professional. Bear Auto got my car into the shop when I needed it. They checked my car (fluids, brakes, etc) and put me at ease headed over the mountain. Thank you for the peace of mind!
