I have had my 2007 Subaru serviced at W & Son since 2019. I wouldn t go anywhere else. I follow their maintenance suggestions and feel confident that my car will always drive worry free. I highly recommend their competent work.

I had my 2016 F150 XLT inspected by them and was happy with the service. I hope to do more work with them in the future, thanks Wally & Son Automotive.

They took time out their day to give me a quick opinion and recommendation when I was pressed for time. I really appreciate the care they showed.

This place is a gem. My car recently started acting jumpy when I switched gears! The engine light came on. I decided to bring it in to Wally & Son because of the good reviews. They immediately diagnosed the problem and got it fixed, as well as helped work around my work schedule. Jamie in the office was super professional, flexible, and kind. On top of some spark plug issues, my tire light sensor had been on for MONTHS - multiple tire shops had told me the sensor was broken; tires were fine. But Wally & Sons was like, naw, your tires are set way too low! And filled them all up, reset the sensor, and it hasn't come back on since. Honestly, that seems like such a simple issue, but for someone who doesn't know much about cars who has been seemingly continuously taken advantage of, I was so happy to find a reputable shop. Since getting everything taken care of, my car has been running perfectly for about a month. I cannot say enough nice things about this shop. Totally worth it. Thank you guys!Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

I have been coming to Wally and son for a few years now, two cars later and I completely trust all they have to say. They provide a prioritized list of things needed to be done, now... and in the future. Jamie really knows her stuff and explains it in a way I can understand. I had a vehicle that was needing some major upcoming repairs and she highly recommended I sell it before it becomes a major expense(more than the vehicle was worth). I got a second and third opinion and they all confirmed what she was saying. They even performed a pre-purchase diagnostic on the new (used) vehicle I bought, and provided a list of things it might need to use as leverage for a price reduction when purchasing. They all make you feel like family. Love these guys! And Jamie's dog! :)Services: Transmission, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Oil change

Thorough, expert, friendly service. You know you can depend on Wally's to take good care of your vehicle. My husband and I have been using Wally's for all of our vehicles over a ten year period and we are pleased. We've only purchased used vehicles over the years so having a great, reliable mechanic is an absolute must for our family. We recently purchased a car for my oldest kid (who saved up almost the entire amount themselves) and Wally's fit it in same day for a pre-purchase inspection. The inspection was very thorough and we feel confident with our purchase. If you are looking for a mechanic that you can trust and use for years to come, Wally & Son is a fantastic choice.

We have taken a couple vehicles to Wally & Son and have been very pleased each time. The quality is great, the price is very reasonable, and most importantly of all, they are good honest folks who aren't out to try to cheat you. This is the kind of place you can pull your car in, say, "Please see what it needs and take care of it", and hand over your credit card without worry that you will be ripped off.

I have a 1985 Chevy as our second vehicle. Driven once or twice a week. It needed a serious carb overhaul to get it drivable and pass deq. I had more than one shop look at it without success over the past two years.I looked all over finally found this shop in Beaverton. They were recommended from other shops. I had a budget for the repair bill. I did have to wait to get it in the shop,. It it was worth it.They were able to diagnose it & fix the immediate issue, identify additional repairs, and the car passed deq. All under my budget.I am very appreciative of the work they did and they reached out to me with updates.

Wally & Son have made it possible to feel safe about having your auto service done. They are extremely careful. This is just like an old fashioned auto repair shop that does it all. I'm very particular about my vehicle and it's wonderful to know that they respect that. And to make it even better - it's the best price in town. Thank you so much!

Felt like a dishonest shop to me. Seems like others disagree so, YMMV.

First off, they do good solid work. Well trained mechanics. I will go back, but...I didn't know I had a bad experience 2 years ago until I went in today. *Flashback to 2 years ago* I thought my engine mounts were bad. They told me they were fine but my passenger side lower control arm is about to break off. The front bushing is bad on it. They said they could change it for $660. I thought it was steep for just a control arm, literally 4 bolts. Alignment too of course, not the most simple job but not that bad if you have the tools. Got it back and the wheel was slightly aligned to the left. It has gotten worse as the drivers side control arm bushings and ball joint have gotten bad. Annoying but whatever. *flashback to today* I brought it in to get the other control arm replaced for the same price. They just quoted me on the last jobs cost. After some hours had passed I called for an update. I was told that when he got in to do the work he noticed the ball joint was bad on that control arm. I was like...yeah of course, it is that's why I'm having you change it. He then told me that they didn't actually change the control arm on the other side. He brought out the receipt and there it was, they only did the bushing and charged me $668. I was under the impression the whole time that they did the control arm. Apparently they got a $130 bushing kit for it and didn't give me the other one since it came in a pair. I wouldn't have paid $668 for that. I wish they would have corrected me all the times I said that they changed the control arm when they just changed one bushing. Even when I called and asked 2x what work they did before they didn't tell me. I just don't understand how it happened.Make sure you are super duper clear on what you are getting done.

Originally took my car to Toyota to purchase a spare tire, was having some clunking happening on the driver side of my vehicle. Toyota quoted a hefty price and said the control arm bushings and ball joints were going out. Took it to Wally and Son, had my vehicle inspected, turned out that was not the cause! Ended up being differential mounts, power steering rack, and some other bushing type repairs. I chose to have some routine maintenance completed at the same time. Jamie was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, never feeling pressured, but always informed when making my decisions on my Landcruiser. The vehicle now drives amazing, fluids changed, ready for the next adventure! Thanks to all the staff at Wally and Son for taking great care of my vehicle! :)

5 Stars is not enough. I had bought a used 1987 Honda and it was running bad. I took it to three other repair places before finding Wally & Son. i have lived in Portland for 14 years and I have plenty of experience with over a dozen repair shops and I can say this is the best one. They took alot of time and found the problem with my Honda and it runs very well now. Service and price of the repair were exceptional. Ladies, I would highly suggest you take your cars to this family owned shop, you can trust them to repair your vehicle.

My husband and I are fairly new customers of Wally's, and we are very pleased with their service. We feel that they are straightforward and honest, and that they take the time to explain everything that they've done, and even provide you with a printout of what has been done and also what still needs to be done in the future. My husband dropped the Mercury off yesterday to have a tune up and some other things done, and it was ready in the late afternoon like we had requested. We have had some bad experiences with other places, especially one where we felt we were really ripped off. We will continue to do business with Wally's in the future because we feel they are reliable and honest.

Good: They had really kind and inviting staff members and some adorable social pets roaming around the office.Bad: My vehicle was running lean and their diagnosis was to replace all four injectors for $1000 because they didn't know which one had the issue. I took it for a second opinion at Reborn Automotive in Portland and they cleaned off my O2 sensor... and sent me on my way. My vehicle is now running perfectly (for days). I feel like the O2 sensor should have been the first thing they checked; I dodged a bullet on that $1000 bill!

I chose Wally and Sons based upon all of the positive feedback from google reviews but unfortunately my situation was not every positive. I have had to bring my 2006 Dodge Dakota in 3 times over the past 7 months and have spent close to $2,000 on various repairs. On my 2nd visit I had a small transmission leak and during the repair they found another $1,000 of work that they said should be done. I trusted the estimate because they seemed honest and told them to fix everything. When my truck was returned to me they said to bring it back after 500 miles so they could check their work. When i brought it back 2 weeks later I kindly informed them that since they returned it to me the engine had stalled and died 3 separate times, this was NOT something that was happening before and it started immediately after they returned the vehicle to me. A day later they returned the vehicle and said they couldn't find any issues but they decided to replace the ignition and said I owed them $100 for the work. I was shocked because I had just spent $1000 to have them "fix everything" and I explained that this engine stalling had to be related to whatever changes they had made to the vehicle when they last worked on it. They said by that justification anybody who comes to their shop once would come back again and expect free work and they would never make any money. Well seems to me if you do a quality job fixing a vehicle the first time then people won't be coming back all the time expecting "free work". I guess it's all about the money for them. I won't be a repeat customer.

Great family owned business. ASE certified mechanics and their prices are far less than going to a dealer for repairs. They are straight forward with you right from the start and let you know what options you have. They are a full service auto repair shop right off Canyon Rd in Beaverton. You can call ahead and schedule an appointment without any hassles

Generally, I'm not one to go this route, however this sucked. What started out as an ok relationship, quickly became toxic after just 2 projects. They will quote you a nice low price to get you to have them do the work then all the sudden it's more expensive when you go pick up your vehicle. Both times, they did not receive the correct parts on time and it took multiple trips (in the middle of my workday since they aren't open otherwise) to get what should have been simple things done. This last time, I was quoted $336 for headlight assembly replacements. Well naturally the parts came in wrong, they did half the job and told me to come back. Then when they finished up, the cost was $420. I wasn't asked or consulted on any price increase AND it was the second chunk of time out of my workday to come have this done. When I inquired about any kind of discount/compromise due to all the time they had taken me out of work, and the fact that they hadn't consulted me for an increase over the quote, I was simply told "Sorry dude". Jamie was incredibly rude and unhelpful. Very poor customer/interpersonal skills on full display. Won't give another penny to them."Steer" clear of this place or pay the (always increasing) price!

MY "AUTOMOTIVE NEEDS" HOME AWAY FROM HOME!I live in Seattle and for years had my trusty mechanic take care of my car. While on one of my visits to Beaverton, my car needed to be seen by the dealer for a recall on a part. The Honda dealership recommended $2500 in additional repairs. Unbeknownst to Honda, I had already set up an appointment with Wally & Son for that very afternoon. Keith (Wally & Son) recommended $350 in repairs. Based on the exceptional online reviews for Wally & Son's, I felt confident in his advice. My car has run like a charm since that repair and I felt the service provided by this company was even better than my own mechanic in Seattle.Regretfully my family member will be moving away from Beaverton visits to Wally & Son will no longer be possible. However, as a sendoff, we will rent a moving truck from Wally & Son's!Mechanical repairs & oil changes at Wally & Sons has felt like a home with trusted family.

I've taken a few different vehicles to them over the last few years and have yet to take one back to re-fix any problems. The repairs have been pretty quick and the folks always friendly....especially the piano playing cat.....loves to be petted!! I've been scammed before by shops but I don't worry here anymore......I was, of course, leary at first. Fortunately I know enough about cars myself to usually be able to tell when someone is pulling a fast one on me. I would have gone five stars but we did have one little glitch once.....but not worth the details. :^) So if you want to be confident in your vehicles repairs and in a shop's honesty.....make an appointment at Wally's.

Just had work done and FYI... these people don't stand behind their work. When I called to inform them that my car is running worse than when I took it in the response was to have me bring the car in and they would dig further down at a cost of $115/hr. Uh, once bit twice shy! They already ripped me off for $800+. Never again! I don't recommend these people for auto repairs. It's obvious that they don't know how to work on a Mini Cooper... Too bad they couldn't be honest from the start and just admitted so.

Scam artists!! They knew my check engine light had nothing to do with an O2 sensor but they lied, convinced me it did and promised it would take care of the check engine alert. Next day it came back on. Their excuse: "you were having electrical problems when you brought it in it may not have been showing all your codes" yeah well a good mechanic knows to to run the engine for a while and recheck anytime you disconnect the battery!

Had them do brakes and a concerning sound. The sound turned out to be an old hood latch squeeking greased that up and fixed it. When they could have easily taken me for an experience ride they didn't. Would i reccomend my own mother to them? Yes i would and i did.Services: Engine repair, BrakesServices: Engine repair, Brakes

Went in for a DEQ test. Called & Jaime was really informative & friendly. I drove there right after calling to check they were open and was done in about 15 minutes - and part of that was probably because I was busy holding the super friendly cat there. Supplied paperwork to finish up the process online with DEQ and got exactly what I needed. Definitely intending to go back for the oil change I'll need next month.

Wally & Son recently changed my timing belt and related parts, and also restored my car's suspension. I have been absolutely pleased with everything about their work, and have come to use them for all of our family's automotive service and repair requirements.
